The atmosphere started to become heavy, the air became thinner than before and my heart started to beat faster, worried about the outcome.
I listened to their argument since Pholly had told me to do so. I should be leaving them alone since this is a private conversation, but she stopped me from getting out of the rooftop. I don't want to upset anyone at the moment so I don't have a choice but to stay.
"She despises us, her family!" She yelled, spitting her sap to Dalary that was standing in front of her. "She has never been proud!"
I turned around to see my friend, who was now lowering her head, full of embarrassment because of how she was being threatened. Of course, she would be irritated. Her pride was shattered right now by her one and only sister, but she still accepted it like everything she said about her was true.
"And you know what's the worse? Is that I'm the only one who knows that. I'm the only one who hears that." She added, tears started falling from her hollow eyes, but her hatred towards her will never is replaced. "I couldn't be able to tell my Mother or anyone because… I don't want them to hate you!"
Between the anger that was boiling inside of her, she is still treating him like a sister. She couldn't be able to hate her and throw her out. I didn't know that Dalary was having a relationship like this with her siblings.
"And now what? You're gonna bring a cursed child in this town?" She continued yelling, pulling the collar of her dress, causing her to be lifted from the ground. She gave her fiercer glares than before. "So what? So other people will threaten us?"
This is the time that I know that everything that had been happening is started to get out of hand. I approached them and tried to push them away from each other, but it seems like their aura refused to let me. I was too powerless.
"You really took this way too far, Sis." She said. "I shouldn't have brought you here with me."
Then, all of a sudden, I saw the frustration in Dalary's eyes, her glowing light became brighter than before. She reached for her hand that's been grabbing her collar all this time and forced it to let her go, pulling it away from her.
"Don't say that to me." She responded. "I'm your sister!"
"But you're not being like one!"
The whole place became silent for a while as Pholly shouted those words. This pushed her sister to her realization. Everything around us, even the crickets, refused to make noise. More tears were falling from her eyes, rushing like a river. Dalary couldn't help but do the same as I saw tears slowly dripping from her chin.
"No matter how I wanted to believe that you are, you're not like that at all!" Pholly continued to yell. "To me, you're just someone that kept leaving us behind!"
The two continued to stare at each other, their whole face is wet. I thought this will be the perfect time to stop them, so I approached them once more and grabbed both of their arms away.
"Hey, I brought some wine!"
All of a sudden, I heard Cainne's voice coming from the entrance of the rooftop. He couldn't help but be spaced out because of the scene that happened in front of him. He's holding three wood containers filled with wine, that was just once two.
"Did I… miss anything…?" He made a fake smile to us. I sighed, relieved that he was already here and stopped the whole argument in the weirdest way possible.
After that exchange, Dalary suddenly sprinted away. She ran towards the entrance and pushed Cainne from her, much to the lad's surprise. He almost dropped the wine in his hand, but he managed to prevent it.
"Dalary! Wait!" I yelled, worried about her condition, but she already left, as I heard no sound coming from her downstairs.
I saw the tears flowing out of her eyes as she ran. When I saw that, I couldn't help but chase after her downstairs.
I've known her to be a cheerful, sarcastic person. She would never bow to someone, and will never be. She is always making fun of others and always judging them. But right now, I found her different. It's like she was hurt by Pholly's words. It's like she knows deep in her heart that all of it was true.
Now, she is judging herself.

The sunlight might hit most of the grass in the meadow, but there are still dark spots who refused to be touched, hiding under the shade of the trees that surround it. The part that was reached by the sun grew flowers of different colors, feasting over the nutrients it gathered. Butterflies started swarming to them, starting the food chain.
The next day came in, but my morning isn't that good for me. I found Dalary in her room, but she refused to open it for me, that even I was not welcome. I let out my fourth sigh as I remembered what happened last night.
"Hey, are you okay?"
I turned around to see Cainne who was just standing beside me the whole time, standing beneath the green grass. We were told to meet here for our training.
"I-I'm fine. It's just…" I tried to say it, but every time, I saw a vision of my friend in sadness, which wasn't her at all, and that worried me.
"You mean Dalary?" He continued. I lowered my head.
"Yes…"
"Well, she can recover." Cainne said, resting his head with his arms, staring at the clear sky above. I turned around to see him. "She's tough, the toughest person I met."
After hearing that from him, I started to reminisce about what happened before. Back when we were tried to escape from the Deravon army, I insisted on going to Zentra. I noticed that she wasn't feeling well about this place, and yet, I decided to ignore it.
"It's all my fault." I spoke, taking all the blame to me. Because I was too selfish, I didn't think about my friend's condition. She was the only one who was willing to come with me here. Of course, no one would take the risk to come with a cursed being such as me. And yet, I didn't give her enough support. "I shouldn't have insisted to go here."
"Hey, I don't know what happened to you two since I only just met you, but I'm sure it's not your fault." He tried to encourage. "You're both brave to go on a journey all by yourselves."
When I heard what he said, that put me into realization. Come to think of it, we both went to this journey alone and we still managed to make it here alive. And I'm sure not just us. Cainne and Kandani, even Farin helped us out. I finally know that I still have friends who would go by my side.
"Thanks." I gave her a sincere smile, as he did the same.
I remembered my brother giving me nonsense advice sometimes. I didn't know that they would actually work in these times. And for some reason, I can see my brother in Cainne.
"You sound like my brother sometimes," I said out of the blue, in which I didn't intend to. I immediately covered my mouth with my hands.
He turned around to me and raised an eyebrow.
"You have a brother?" He said, leaning closer to insist me in giving more information.
"Y-Yeah, but we're not blood-related." I tried to explain. "He was supposed to be going with us in this travel but unfortunately, he was caught by the Deravon, holding him hostage."
"I'm scared for my life right now."
I didn't think that I would have to deal with this when I ran away from everything. The whole world indeed hated me, and not just the world, even the destiny itself hated me. A cursed child like me doesn't have room to have peace and live freely. I'm scared that everything around me will turn against me.
"Well, you have me with you."
I raised my head once more after hearing that from Cainne, and saw him started rubbing his nape with his hands. His cheeks flushed because of what he said. I didn't know if I heard it right. Does that mean…?
"Wait, you're gonna be with us?" I said with sparkled eyes, couldn't believe that he was actually going on a journey with us. I know that he had been following us since we're on Atonis, but right now, he decided to come with us officially.
I leaned forward to him, in which he leaned backward. After realizing that I got too close to him, I went back to my position. It seems like he started to get uncomfortable with me.
"I'm just a traveler, I've got nothing else to do other than to explore the world." He explained. "So it might worth a try to be with you guys."
He gave me a warm smile that would sparkle under the sun. I also smiled back, happy to hear that from him. It seems like there will be another passenger in the wagon right now.
"So… shall we start training?" He changed the subject, looking at the grassy field we're in. This is a perfect place to start.
"Yes."
