Her fear of losing her own life wasn't greater because she had given up on her own life and craved to end everything. Her fear of losing Aaron was unbearable because she loves the dumb man way too much.

She excitedly ran inside the guest room and grabbed her mobile to talk... No, to scream at Aaron that she loves him too, pester him to take her with him, and talk a lot of nonsense. 

However, she felt like cold water poured over her looking at her mobile. Her delight plunged looking at no notification about a message or a call.

She had waited for his call for more than five hours but there was none.
