Zed merely shrugged again.

"I see." I went silent before asking again, "Then do you think there will be an effect in the vampire community if it is you, or perhaps another person who would show up as the ruler in the prophecy?"

"Maybe. Else why would the prophecy be passed down for thousands of years?" He said in a semi-mocking tone.

Well, he has a point. But his tone could really use some working on.

I won't ask you about that anymore. I got to know what I really needed anyway.

"Come to think of it, what about the carriage driver I sent to go call for back up last night? What happened to him? Where is he?" I asked, suddenly remembering about that person.

Zed knitted his brows a little.

"What are you talking about? That experience of yours didn't happen last night. It happened three nights ago." He said.
