Chapitre 10: Grasp
He turns to you, and the look on your face is even more confused than his is. "No, I never even went up there, I just noticed it and went straight to your place". He leads you into the living room, but the attic is closed. He stutters while saying "B-but it was just open! I swear I saw it open!". "Maybe we should check it out" you say. He nods his head, and you grab a stepping stool for you two to climb up there. You expect it to be empty, but it's actually filled with all kinds of dusty furniture and past belongings. You both walk around up there, but nothing seems that out of place. Things like a sleeping bag, some old chairs, a lantern. You briefly wonder why all this stuff was left here, but you can worry about that later. You and Doppio search for anything that might be the cause of all the strange things happening, but find nothing. You both head down, and then you remember you were supposed to go to dinner with him tonight!
"Oh! Are we still going to dinner tonight?" You ask him. He takes a second or remember, and says "Wow, I completely forgot! We can still go if you want, but I wouldn't feel safe in your shoes. What if someone breaks into your apartment?". You consider this, and reply "Yeah, I guess your right, but this would also be the second time we've canceled dinner!". "It's ok, we have plenty of other nights we can do it instead". This puts a smile on your face. "Then yes, I'd like to make sure my apartment is safe". He smiles and asks "Is it ok if I stay here with you for a while?". "Of course! Your welcome any time". With that, you both snuggle onto the couch to watch a movie.
You wake up suddenly to loud crashing coming from above you. You and Doppio had fallen asleep next to each other, and now you were both awake. "Ok, now something is up. Something is in that attic." You say. He's also awake now, eyes wide in shock, and he nods his head in agreement. You silently move the step ladder back under the attic and enter with him. This time you both split up, using the flashlights on your phones instead of the attic light. You find a bunch of pots and pans lying on the floor, and search near there. From across the attic, you hear Doppio loudly whisper "Should we call the cops, or security, or something like that?". You look at him and nod your head, then start making your way back to the hatch. As your walking, you feel something grab your ankle, pulling you to the ground. You yell "Doppio!" As you fall, but then realize he isn't anywhere near you. You land hard on your arm, and hear a sharp snapping sound. Pain floods through your left arm up to your shoulder. Whatever tripped you, or as it seemed grabbed you, is now gone. "Y/N are you ok?! What happened?". You look up at him and say "Please, just help me get the hell out of this attic. You push yourself with your uninjured right arm, and notice that something does not look right with your left arm. "Doppio- my arm.." is all you can get out. He picks you up and carries you down onto the couch, and then calls an ambulance. The pain in your arm is so bad, you can barely even hear what he's saying. Something like "Yes come quick.. Broken arm.. attic..". Once he makes the phone call he sits on the couch with you and pulls your head onto his lap, stroking your hair and telling you it will be ok. After what might have been 5 minutes or 2 days you hear people rushing into the apartment. You briefly hear one of them ask what happened, so you try to sit up and explain. This of course, was a very bad idea, as you already could barely remain conscious, so you promptly passed out.
