Chapitre 22: Escape (1)
Author Note: Since people don't like the name Rei, I'm going be to change it after this chapter. And uh ya, that's all I got to say. Enjoy the chapter.
Still being in a dream-like state, Rei felt as if he was being constricted. All movement from his arms to his legs was limited. Reacting to this strange feeling from within his sleep, he slowly opened his eyes. "Ugh…" Feeling sore all across his body slowly began looking at his surroundings.
The room's light could be considered minimal as best to the point all he could see was the stone floor and walls. 'Where the hell am I?' Trying to move his body, he realized he couldn't. He saw he was strapped to a stone chair attached to the ground to keep it from being moved.
"Your case is interesting. Other than your name there is no record of you anywhere. Your Village, Clan, Family nothing else is known about you." Not being able to pinpoint the exact direction that person's voice was coming from, Rei took a breath and tried to remain calm. "Yet despite all of that at your age you were able to defeat multiple Chunin and Jonin level threats."
Listening in silence, Rei decided to say something finally. "So you kidnapped me to tell me how much of an overachiever I am?" Prodding at him, Rei suddenly heard the movement of footsteps. A person wearing a black-cloaked draped over their body and a mask similar to the one Rei saw Kabuto wear before stared at him.
"From our report's and observations you knew exactly who Orochimaru was and arrived just as his assault was about to begin. All of these coincidences and inconsistencies are quite strange don't you agree?" Being able to see the one talking now and with their voice no longer echoing throughout the chamber, Rei could verify two things.
One, he was captured after collapsing due to him overexerting himself. He had to assume he was captured shortly after that, with no one being the wiser. And two, the person who captured him has to be someone of a high rank within the village. Of course, with the Hokage being dead, he couldn't imagine who it would be.
At the same time, Rei was being interrogated outside of that stone chamber in a small area. Three figures were watching what was happening inside. The two were dressed just like the person talking to Rei, wearing a mask to cover their face. However, the person in the middle of those two was not wearing a mask.
Instead, he seemed to be an older man with one of his eyes being covered by a bandage and one of his arms being covered inside his robe. As the three of them stood there, the old man spoke. "I want to talk to him personally." Hearing him, one of the ROOT ninjas nodded. "Yes Lord Danzo."
Performing many different hand signs within seconds, the ROOT ninja placed his hands on the ground. Soon part of that wall began to slide down, leading into the chamber. Meanwhile, watching this all happen, Rei watched as Danzo entered the room.
Moving to the corner, the ROOT ninja that had been talking to him so far seemed to shrink away.
'So he's the one in charge.' Watching as Danzo approached him, walking into the light mostly centered around the chair in the center of the chamber. "I was watching you carefully from afar when you first appeared. For your age your skills are extremely well honed and so are your strange abilities."
At this time, Danzo raised his free arm that was holding a sword Rei was all too familiar with. 'Ryujin Jakka.' Rei's eye twitched the moment he saw Danzo holding his sword, but he remained calm.
"Out of everything we had seen you do this sword is what truly drew my interest. I have had my best ninja try and use it and its abilities the way you had however they couldn't even remove it from its sheath."
Listening to him, Rei's eyes narrowed as he glared at Danzo. "Glare all you want. Those bands on your body suppress your ability to cast jutsu or access your chakra. Your status in the village is under investigation but since you have no clan or village alignment. I can keep you here indefinitely if I so wish."
After Danzo told Rei of his situation, he began to move his mouth as if he was preparing to speak. Thinking Rei had seen what kind of trouble he was in and was ready to tell him already, Danzo leaned in slightly. "So you're willing to cooperate. People like you who unders-" Before Danzo could finish speaking; Rei had opened his mouth and spit directly onto Danzo's face before smiling at him with a cheeky glare.
Quickly the Root Ninja, who was standing off to the side, walked up to Rei, punching him directly in his face causing his entire head to swing. Looking at Rei, Danzo remained calm, wiping the spit off his face before speaking.
"You can glare and be defiant all you want. Those restraints holding your body down have blocked your chakra and are keeping you from casting jutsu."
Turning around, Danzo walked over to the ROOT ninja and whispered to him. "I dont care if you have to rough probe his mind if you must. I want to know everything, especially the secrets behind this sword." The ROOT ninja nodded his head slightly before Danzo finally left the chamber. Looking over at one of the ROOT ninjas, he spoke.
"Place this in a secure location until further notice. I have business to attend to." Holding out his hands, the ROOT ninja proceeded to take Ryujin Jakka. After the chamber was sealed, that was the very last Rei had seen of Danzo. They continued to try and beat Rei into speaking for the next few hours, but nothing seemed to work.
It was only until the chamber opened once more, and this time two different ROOT ninjas entered as the one who had been in there with him for the past few hours left.
"It's him." Pointing to the bruised up Rei, one of the masked ninja remained by the exit while the other walked up to Rei. As he drew closer, the two of them didn't notice Rei slowly moving his body as if preparing for something. With no warning, the ninja quickly began weaving many different hand signs.
Finally, he placed his hand on top of Rei's head as he spoke. "Psycho Mind Transmission Jutsu." Instantly Rei felt a familiar feeling similar to whenever he met with Ryujin Jakka. However, instead, it was as if someone was invading that space forcefully. Tensing up for a moment, the ROOT ninja continued to probe Rei's mind delving deeper and deeper.
However, just as he was about to reach Rei's memory, he felt something block him out. Like a secondary force was protecting Rei's mind despite nothing being there. And from the outside, Rei could tell exactly who was defending his mind and used it to his advantage. Putting strength into his arms, he broke out of the restraints placed over his arms.
Still trying to probe Rei's mind, the ROOT ninja didn't notice Rei's arms were free before it was too late. Using his arms as a pivot, Rei forcefully broke his leg out of their bindings before raising them, kicking the ninja in front of him directly in the chin.
"Augh… I thought his chakra was sealed..." Realizing Rei was free, he tried to recover, but it was too late. Landing on top of the chair, he was strapped to his eyes honed onto the ROOT ninja's chest. Taking a firm stance, he brought back his arm and curled his hand into a fist. "Ikkotsu!"
Then moving his arm forward as fast as possible, he hit the ROOT ninja square in the chest. In a moment, the bones in his chest began to crack and break, crushing his heart in the process. Finishing his attack, the body of the ROOT ninja was sent flying, crashing into the chamber's wall sending a vibration through its foundations.
On the other hand, the second ROOT ninja who had entered with one who probed Rei's mind had already drawn the sword from off his back. He charged at Rei swinging the blade in his hand directly towards his head without saying a word. Seeing this, Rei jumped off the stone chair to avoid the attack before landing firmly on the ground behind him.
'I managed to catch the first one off guard but this guy is no joke. He's speed and strength compared to all those sound ninja from before is crazy.'
Not having Ryujin Jakka put Rei at a slight disadvantage as he was kept on defensive dodging each slash from the ROOT ninja. As Rei continued to avoid each attack, he kept an eye on his opponent's foot placement, looking for a pattern. 'Found it.' Seeing exactly where the ROOT ninja would step next, Rei spoke in a low voice.
"Hado #17: Shōidan." Forming under Rei's feet, a small glowing spot appeared on the ground. Taking a big step back, Rei entirely dodged the ROOT ninja's attack, causing him to step forward before noticing the light. Looking down on what he had just stepped on, the ROOT ninja's eyes widened as the spot began to glow violently until it exploded.
Having backed away beforehand, Rei put up his guard as the explosion knocked him against the wall. As for the ROOT ninja, he had taken the brunt of the blast, killing him instantly as his scorched body fell to the ground. Taking a moment to breathe, Rei quickly got up and walked to where he saw Danzo enter from before.
Cocking back his fist, he punched the wall with one firm swing. Cracks spread across a small section of the wall neatly before finally, it collapsed, leaving a pile of rubble in its wake. Peering his head into the room outside the chamber, Rei saw two hallways, each leading in different directions.
'Despite their punches not doing much damn did that hurt.' Feeling dull pain all around his body Rei also had a second issue to deal with. 'Now which way did they take Ryujin Jakka.' Once the chamber was sealed, he wasn't able to keep track of where Ryujin Jakka went.
He initially thought of breaking out when that Danzo guy was still around. But then advised himself against it. Fighting all of the weird ninjas in this place, plus someone who's their boss, was a little much for him, especially without Ryujin Jakka in hand. It was at that time Rei felt something.
Like a gravitating feeling pulling him in a particular direction, closing his eyes for a moment to focus on that feeling, Rei could suddenly see something that he couldn't exactly describe.
'Well might as well follow it.'
