Chapitre 457: Village Hidden By The Moon

"Ah, I found it Mister!", called Kiro.

Jarvis placed his hands into his pockets and walked over, "I figured there was something."

As the rest of the Party was fighting, Jarvis was spending his time exploring the Shifted Zone. It acted like a "hunting zone" for the residents of The Gated Arena. A majority of the materials that are distributed are sourced from here.

The Shifted Zone was incredibly violent, perhaps the fruit of two sides risking their lives against each other. It was not uncommon for a warrior to die in this place. Due to this Jarvis found it difficult to make any form of communication with the native creatures. Bloodlust leaked from every single beast, and they ignored all attempts of Jarvis to make peace.

Categorized similarly to that of Stages the farther one traveled into the Shifted Zone the stronger the beasts became. To help out newcomers and to assist veterans various camps were spread about. Here warriors could rest and organize their findings.

Oddly enough there didn't seem to be a lack of Second Stage beasts. Despite the constant hunting of them. Almost as if they were being artificially transplanted. Such thoughts lingered in Jarvis' mind for a period of time before he let them fade.

Ruyi waved her two tails as she sauntered towards the group, 'I could have found that.'

"As if, you're still wet behind the ears."

'An old saying like that is a testament to your age.'

Jarvis sighed, he wondered if this was what Akiol had to deal with. There were stories of how Kitsune and Tanuki were natural enemies, but this just seemed like petty bickering.

Loni waved a hand and the two grew silent. With a yawn accompanying a stretch she complained, "So loud already? I didn't even get that great of a nap."

"Glad to have you awake Loni."

The fairy had grew in size but still was incredibly small. Now she was about half the size of Jarvis' head. Her main place to rest remained his shoulders. Although she occasionally returned to the tattoo.

Rubbing her eyes she asked, "What's going on?"

"We're finding the entrance to this forest."

The Forest of no Entrance. Those who wandered into it would quickly find themselves on a random part of its outskirts.

It was a simple illusion, or so it should have been. Since many of the residents did not care for it the mystery remained unsolved. Powerful warriors considered wiping out the forest, but this idea was quickly overruled by the Honorable Leader.

Those who studied in illusions and magic rarely entered the Shifted Zone. Rather they focused on their studies. Such a trick should have been long since solved.

Kiro kicked up a bit of dirt, "The level of this illusion is on par with what hides our village."

"I still have no clue why no one bothered to open it properly."

Jarvis knelt and touched the ground, "This should be the right entrance?"

"Place your two feet here for two seconds before entering. Then you should be able to enter."

Jarvis did as he was instructed, the moment he walked forward his surroundings shifted and he found himself at the entrance to a village.

Oddly enough it looked incredibly similar to the starter villages. The way the buildings were made looked familiar.

At first Jarvis thought he was teleported to an ordinary Starter Village, but as a Player walked up to him he noticed something strange.

"I. . . can't believe it! There's someone else here! Hahaha! Welcome!"

The Player gave off the pressure of a Second Stage, meaning they were definitely a veteran. If they were here then certainly this was no simple Starter Village.

Jarvis maintained his guard, "What exactly is this place?"

"Welcome to the Village Hidden By The Moon. I've been here since pretty much the start of the game and haven't been able to leave."

"You've. . . Been here since the start?"

"Correct! I originally though I got lucky, but that was a horrible assumption. This place was nightmarish. Considering no other Players could find this place I was left alone."

"You didn't bother to contact customer support?"

"Oh I did! I have a token to leave at any time because of it, but someone said I wouldn't be able to return. . . And there seems to be something here."

The Player had a mess appearance, a barely shaven face with orange hair sprouting upwards. Like his head was set aflame. His outfit looked really similar as well, but at the time Jarvis couldn't place his finger on it.

Raising a hand out the Player introduced, "I'm uh, Geared Green. Just call me Gear though!."

"I go by Jarvis.", replied Jarvis as he shook the outstretched hand.

Gear smiled, "I didn't believe someone else could come here! Considering that you're certainly no newbie I take it you found a way in?"

"That I did, some others should follow but they're not Players."

"That's no problem! I'm just excited to speak to someone new. This Village isn't anything special, but I can show you around!"

"In a moment, when the others join."

"That's no problem!"

Jarvis felt something was amiss. Gear, although incredibly energetic, didn't seem right. What through Jarvis off the most was the fact that they were Second Stage. Additionally this one was genuine, fitted with a Path and not by reaching the level requirement.

If this was something like a starter village, how did Gear obtain the strength needed to ascend to Second Stage? Additionally what was here to tempt his stay?

Jarvis decided to pry a bit, "If this is a Starter Village. . . How'd you level up so much?"

"Starter Village? This isn't anything like that. This is hell for beginners, I should know that. As for levels. . ."

Gear turned towards the village and extended his arms, "It's filled with a never ending series of side quests. Thus I gave it a name.

"Welcome, to the Village of Perpetual Side Quests!"
