Chapitre 48: 48 The Remnants of War Part 1

Finally Rhys climbed on top of the elf, sitting on his torn chest. In delirium, despite the pointy ear Rhys had shoved down his throat, the elf kept muttering the same half-decipherable line.

"You cannot live... cannot be allowed to live... my duty. Even in death.... Even in death, my mission..."

Balling his hand into fists, Rhys said, "If you're dead, act like it." All his pent up rage, frustration, fear and pain channeled into his fists. He lost track of time and reason until his knuckles hit the ground. To think, if the elf hadn't used phantombane and stopped Rhys from using intangibility in his hands, the elf could have experienced a much swifter death.

Finally, the forest was quiet. Rhys rose from the ground. He rolled his head back, letting out a deep breath as the system's notifications buzzed in his head.
