Chapitre 33: Chapter 33

Jim sat huddled against the rocks and tried to conserve warmth. He'd pulled his arms inside his coat and sat with his knees up against his chest away from the heat stealing rock. The snow helped, but it was still cold. He wasn't sure whether the cold, or loss of blood, was making him fade in and out.

One moment he was sitting in a bright white cave in the snow then next it was dark. Jim tried to move but it felt like he'd been trapped in glass. He couldn't move any part of his body. All his life he read books and watched movies where it was death to sleep in the snow. Yet here he was, sleeping as much as he was awake.

He heard snowmobiles again and stayed quiet and still. The wendigo and the children were back to kill him. He had to stay alive to protect Leigh. Had to, had to....
