When Kence and Calter's face was only an inch away, a loud thud sound entered their ears causing the two to break away from their magical moment. The two looked at the source of that sound and they saw one of the servants looking at them with wide eyes, open mouth, and a face filled with red blush

On her side was the broom that fell on the ground because of her shock. The servant just planned on cleaning but who would have thought that a scene like that will play before her very eyes

Calter's face turned dark and the servant felt cold sweats all over her body. "S-sorry!" The maid said in panic and scrambled away before coming back hastily to pick her broom

Calter snorted as annoyance filled his entire being. He almost had the chance to kiss his Kence but that damn servant interrupted their moment! He was dismayed by the chance that got away. He doesn't know when and where would be his first time to kiss Kence but he wants to do it as soon as possible!

Kence coughed shyly and continued bandaging his master's injury. His hands were still shaking as he didn't know what was about to happen back there. He suddenly felt grateful for the maid that interrupted them. If Calter knew that Kence was grateful to that servant, just how would he react

"I-It's all done" Kence said before standing up but he still didn't dare to look at his master. "Why are you not looking at me?" Calter's teasing voice entered Kence's ears causing the latter to panic. How can he say that he's embarrassed by looking at his master's body even though they are both men?

"I-I'm looking at you" Kence bluffed even though he was only looking at Calter's side

"Oh? Really?" Seeing the innocent rabbit acting shy in front of him made Calter to feel satisfied. At least, he has some effect on Kence. If he acts like normal when seeing Calter's body then it would be a huge blow for Calter

Kence nodded his head furiously causing Calter to laugh. "Hahaha fine, help me walk to my room"

Kence walked to Calter's side but he still can't take look at him while naked. "W-wear your clothes, Big Brother" Kence said softly

"Nah, it's bad for my injuries to move it around. I'll just wear clothes when necessary" Calter felt proud of his body having effects on Kence and he will show it off for as long as he can!

"B-but..."

"You can look and touch me if you want. Don't be shy" Kence's eyes widened at hearing his master's shameful words

"W-what are you saying!" Because of embarrassment, Kence can't stop his voice from raising and he immediately covered his mouth with his hands

"Well, you're acting so shy and can't even look at me. If you can't even help me back to my room then I would really think that you're attracted by my body" Calter taunted and waited for Kence to bite the bait

Sure enough, Kence gritted his teeth and grab Calter's hand before wrapping it around his shoulder. Even with his clothes on, Kence can still feel the warmth coming from his master's body

It made him a bit dizzy as his mind become a mess but forced himself to not be affected. Calter chuckled before standing up. His hand took support by holding on Kence's shoulder but it mischievously started to gently caressed his lover

This cause Kence's body temperature to rose as heat travelled all over his body. Calter can feel Kence's body heating up and just like always he deeply regretted teasing Kence too much. Whenever he teases Kence, it would be him that's like being ignited by fire and wanted to tear off all of their clothing

The two slowly walk to their room side by side. Neither of them was saying anything. Kence was busy calming himself while Calter was using every ounce of his willpower to push the desire bubbling inside him

Kence opened the door of their room and gently guided Calter on their bed. This made Calter's toned body to be witnessed by Kence again

"I'll grab some food!" Kence blurted out and hurriedly walked away, he even forgot to close the door

Calter shake his head. Fortunately, Kence decided to leave him for a moment. With Kence by his side, it was hard to suppress the fire inside him

Calter moved himself on his bed in a comfortable position before entering his spirit sea. Since the problem with money was solved for the time being with his discovery of the Tree Spirits' nest then he can comfortably focus on his cultivation for quite some time

His mind focused on the engraving of his core that contained his soul. He was once again brought into a whole new world. The world of the profound path of magic. The engravings only gave him the basics of magic but it was more in-depth than any basic manual out there

Slowly but surely Calter's basics were being fortified and the mysteries of magic was being revealed for him. Calter opened his eyes as he realized that his new comprehension of magic theories along with the ones, he comprehended on his past life was enough for him for a long time

If he wants to maximize his time, he needs to upgrade his cultivation base. He can activate powerful spells but what he lacked the most was mana! Improving his cultivation base and strengthening his soul was the priority for now

A stronger soul will enable him to comprehend things much easier and more mana will make it possible for him to activate powerful spells

Calter sensed the mana on his surroundings and drawn them to him. As he needed to absorb ten times more mana that normal people to advance in rank. The mana entering his body was like a drop in the ocean. Fortunately, his core was still devouring and digesting the Dungeon Cores last night. Most of the increase of mana comes from it

Even then, it would take time for him to advance. Normal people need a month to jump from Level 3 Magic Apprentice to level 4

Calter opened his eyes again as he was feeling impatient. He only has ten years before a Rank 4 Mage descend on the Enchanted Star Realm. Manual Cultivation was too slow

"I should get a purified Magic Crystal but the price is too high" Calter muttered to himself. Magic Crystals are the currency because it contained mana. However, the mana inside was impure for humans to absorb. It was mostly used for weapons

But the purified ones are something that humans can absorb. The only problem is one purified Magic Crystal is equivalent to a hundred purified ones!

Normally, only Knights and above use the purified ones as the amount of mana they need to absorb was too high for normal cultivation. Only the rich will use it as the amount of mana inside the pure crystal is only equivalent to one unpurified magic crystal

In other words, one needs to buy one purified crystal for the price of a hundred unpurified ones when the amount of mana you can absorb for a hundred units is only a single unit!

The price is too high and mostly the rich Magic Knights and above use it. Even powerful Clans might not necessarily give their Magic Apprentice descendants to use such an expensive crystal for their cultivation

Calter didn't know why but when he thought of Magic Crystals it's like there was a force that wants him to absorb it. He took one of the crystals inside his spatial ring and stared at it. Absorbing mana from unpurified crystals has bad consequences but if he just absorbs one it won't necessarily affect his cultivation much right?

The youth gritted his teeth and decided to try it. His mind entered the crystal but instead of normally controlling the mana inside to enter his body it actually passed through his forehead as if it was a ghost!

"Why does everything can easily enter my spirit sea?" Calter asked to himself in worry. One's spirit sea was very important and crucial. If it was damage, it would have a huge effect on one's mind and can even turn them into an idiot or human vegetable. The spirit sea also contained one's soul, a damage from soul was even more severe! If his soul was destroyed then he would immediately die. Thus, various things crossing the physical realm to the consciousness realm made Calter to worry

Calter entered his spirit sea and saw the Magic Crystals dissolving and the mana inside it filled his spirit sea. Some of the mana crossed the barrier and add up to the mana inside his body. Although it was just a drop of the overall mana inside a single crystal but it still made Calter ecstatic!

It wasn't a filthy and impure mana like most people will have by absorbing unpurified crystals! It was a pure one that is almost akin to the mana that one will have through manual cultivation

Calter tried to control the mana in his spirit sea and he managed to do it effortlessly. He controlled it to enter the physical world but it wasn't able to cross the barrier. Calter frowned as he thought he can use the mana to activate spells but it only stayed in the consciousness realm

"What will I do with this mana?" He frowned as he felt that it was too much of a waste to have mana on his spirit sea that he cannot use. Does he just let it stay there and being useless?

After a few moments, Calter realized when he can use this mana and his eyes widened in shock. "I-It can't be right?" He can't help but to think of one possibility

Calter controlled the mana once again and covered his core with it "J-Just as I thought!" This confirmed Calter's theory

Originally, soul and illusion attacks will find it hard to affect him. His soul was protected by his Core and if they want to use soul attacks then they need to crack open his core. But now, in addition to the protective core he can store large amounts of mana inside his spirit sea by absorbing magic crystals. The mana can also be used to defend his soul from soul attacks!

"T-This is just too overpowered! There is no free lunch in this world. The universe's law is fair and equal, for every advantage there would be an equal disadvantage. Bloodline Mages can draw power from their Bloodline but to advance in rank they need to find a way to increase their Bloodline Purity or evolve it. Thus, advancing in rank was harder for them. With all the advantages that I have, I don't believe that the only disadvantage is needing to absorb ten times more mana than normal people!"

Calter started worrying for himself. If the path of Core Magician was this too overpowered then every mage in the world should walk this path. But that wasn't the case. Calter never heard about this kind of mage even on his past life.

The law of equivalent exchange.... just what is the disadvantage of this Magic Path? Calter was sure that being a core magician would come biting him one day

Calter doesn't know it but his theory is correct. In the future as he advances in ranks, more and more obstacles will come knocking on his way. Obstacles that normal people cannot overcome. His path was bound to contain many secrets that even the supreme beings are not aware of

The sound of gentle footsteps entered Calter's ears. He looked at Kence who was holding a tray of food while smiling at him shyly with the usual smile on his face

Calter decided to throw the matter on the back of his mind. Whatever the hardships he would face in the future, he would make sure that he will overcome it all for the sake of only one person

And that person naturally is Kence!
