Chapitre 44: Preparations

After class, I hurried to the cafeteria, eager to see Dakota and to speak with the pack, when Michelle walked up.

"Hey," she said, falling in behind me in the lunch line. The guy behind me frowned, but let her in. "What's up?"

I sighed. "We need to discuss... things... today."

Michelle caught my hidden meaning of werewolves and pack business because her eyes widened. "Oh! Well, I can eat with someone else today."

She started to walk away, but I stopped her. "No, you're a part of us now. Join us."

A broad smiled spread across her lips. The line moved forward, and we stepped up.

"Hey!" Micah leaned over and gave Michelle a kiss on the cheek. "What's going on?"

"Oh, no!" the guy behind Michelle said. "One person cutting, I can handle. But not everyone."

Micah looked down at him and glared.

"Why don't you go ahead of us?" I interjected, hoping to smooth things over.

He sighed. "You don't mind?"

I shook my head, smiling. "No, not at all."
