She fell from below and her body thudded lightly against the ground. Grass tickled her cheeks as consciousness slowly returned. Disorientation was about her and the swarm of thoughts in her head collided with each other, none of which made any sense. Holding her head with a disgruntled groan, she hauled herself up to her feet.
She hadn't been home in so long that she had forgotten much of it.
But she knew that it wasn't supposed to look like this. A sharp gasp, her breath quickened. She knew that had forgotten something terribly important.
What had once been a pristine landscape with luxurious towers and timeless flora lay before her eyes but a ravaged husk of its former glory. The trees were barren of leaves, bark splintered and the towers in the distance bore no signs of life. In the distance, she saw clouds of smoke and the crystal blue that should have been above was obscured with ash and soot.
