"Erana!" I shouted.
"Entangle!" She answered. The Lizal before me was surrounded by large thorny vines as I charged at it with my sword.
The monster hissed, but I could tell it was simply trying a last ditch effort to intimidate me as I ran it through.
Slowly, the Lizal crumbled as the vines released it. I pulled my sword away and placed it back into its scabbard.
"Good work, Kenji-san!" Erana ran up with her hand raised. I smiled and gave her a high-five in response.
It has been three weeks since the night I spent outside. In that time, Tael and Kany have not come to the guild a single time. I have attempted to contact them with Mind Connection, but it hasn't worked. As a result, Erana and I have been taking on monster slaying jobs outside of the city as a way to make money.
I could have made this into 2 chapters, but I felt like making just one big af chapter instead. I hope you all appreciate it!
Writing Kenji and Erana is enjoyable. Their dynamic is more of two responsible people that still have childish sides when they interact. I love being able to let them express themselves despite both of them having to hold back a bit. When they let loose, they have their fun.
Catch you on the flip side!
