Chapitre 234: Chapter 234: Pleading for time

With each step she took, the pain began to get duller. But she couldn't stop. Elize could hear his footsteps behind her. She had to reach her room before he reached her. For some reason, she hadn't imagined that their reunion would be like this. She hadn't imagined the scenario at all. In the midst of all the joy of returning to the family who she considered her own, she had forgotten about things like fate and destiny for at least a moment. 

As she ran through the hall and up the stairs, she met the quizzical glances of many elves- guards and servants. She didn't want to think about what would be going on in their heads right now. Nothing positive came out of such unnecessary ventures, she reminded herself. Ignoring the murmurs and the stares, she made her way up the stairs leading to her room. 

"Elize! Wait!" Zack shouted from behind.

"No!" She shouted back, not even sparing a glance his way.
