Chapitre 88: Black Market Auction! Part-3/4

The room tensed up according to Kadabra, these are the things that everyone was anticipating. The auctioneer auctioned several things that reached fifty to one hundred millions.

They were auctioning properties, such as islands and land. The prices were terrifyingly high, something Gan knew he couldn't afford. This is when those big shots came out and started bidding.

Gan sighed, he really wish he buy his own island. Such a place would be good for living and even setting up a base for himself.

"Would this reveal who you were if someone were to properly investigate?" These people didn't seem to care about such things and opted to buy them anyway.

These Islands and land were lost because the previous owners either lost it due to gambling, or he couldn't pay it off.

Gan watched as four Islands were bought and six large pieces of land were purchased. He knew he needed money more than ever, this was especially so if he was planning to create his own team in the future.

However, Gan opted to just create something like a Guild in the future. This would make his organization more presentable in the future, as to avoid the authorities constantly breathing down his back.

"Now, for the last items for the miscellanies section." Right then, the auctioneer had a man bring up the last item for this part of the auction.

Gan smiled when he saw it, and even felt a sense of relief.

It was the Storage Backpack.

"This is a Storage Backpack that has yet to come out. This item was postponed and pushed back to be released at a later date. You can either keep it to yourself or give it to your child for his or her Pokemon journey across the world."

Everyone was riled up by the sight of the backpack. These backpacks could carry large items with ease during your travels—naturally, everyone wanted one.

"I must get this backpack for my daughter!"

"My son will need something like this. I could even use it until he becomes of age, then I can give it to him."

"I've tried to pull some string, but I simply couldn't get one. Now's my chance, I won't lose out on getting it!"

These were people speaking in their V.I.P. rooms, but no one could hear what they were saying.

"The starting bid will be ₱4,000,000," Qu'ron announced.

"₱4,050,000!"

"₱4,100,000!"

"₱4,200,000!"

"₱4,250,000!"

"₱4,300,000!"

Gan's palms turned sweaty as he watched the bids increase. He had calculated what he owed from the items he had won prior. Once the bidding broke the six millionth barrier, he smiled.

Gan was relieved, but now, he was excited as it kept rising. He still needed enough money to purchase Pokemon in the final auction section.

"₱7,050,000!"

"₱7,150,000!"

"This item is mine, no one can have it! ₱10,000,000!" A man suddenly roared from his mic and through the speakers.

"It's a contest of money, this is one of the items I came to this auction for. How could I let you have it?! ₱11,000,000!"

Gan could only hear and see the money rising. His eyes had practically turned into ₱ money signs! Though the bidding wasn't nearly as insane as the properties before, this amount of money was no joke.

Eventually, the bids reached ₱16,000,000, and by this point—only three people were going at it.

The Storage backpack was finally won by some woman for ₱23,100,000!

"I'm friggin rich!" Gan's hands were quivering a bit just thinking about the money.

"Alright! The middle part is over. We'll start the last part of the auction in ten minutes. We need to prepare the pokemon that need to be placed on the stage."

Afterward, the auctioneer went backstage.

Gan finally understood something, these rich people didn't care about the items he bought earlier. They had connections and could have someone simply find those items he bought before.

What they cared about were properties, land, or items that couldn't be acquired with their connections. The Storage Backpack wasn't something they could get because it still needed work.

There weren't many of those Storage Backpacks that were perfected.

"Okay, I need to do this now." Gan grabbed the phone next to him and called Jayce.

He told Jayce to give him his money, but to take their ten percent. Gan also told him to bring up his items so he can pay for them.

This was the best time since they were taking a break. Jayce soon arrived at his door with twelve bodyguards and women dressed in women's suits.

Obviously, bringing this type of money to Gan in this environment required this much. The guards waited outside, while Jayce stepped into the room.

Gan had ₱23,100,000 from the bag plus ₱915,000 for the Helix fossil, but they took 10% of that.

Gan received his money, which was ₱21,613,500!

"Alright, for these items, it will cost you ₱5,132,000." Jayce read the receipt list and said.

Gan paid the toll and was left with a grand total of ₱16,481,500.

Jayce left both suitcases filled with Gan's purchased items. Gan made sure to inform Jayce that he was being stalked. He told Jayce that there was someone constantly watching his room.

Jayce was stunned, how would Gan know this? Gan simply told him that he had Pokemon that could sense things in its surroundings.

Jayce immediately knew that the only Pokemon capable of this—were usually Psychic types. With a change in expression, Jayce left the room. He told gan that he was definitely going to have some men keep a lookout for whoever it was.

Kadabra had long sensed and told Gan that someone was watching his room from outside. Ten minutes wasn't long and the auctioneer appeared on the stage again.

"We'll auction off Pokemon separately, but we'll show one to three pokemon at a time." Right then, the stage's floors opened up. Three cages appeared out of the ground and settled onto the stage.

Inside these cages were Pokemon ready to be auctioned.

"I was wondering what was so dark about this auction as it seem normal. But I understand now after seeing this."

Gan could see that these pokemon were caged, and at that; they were even in chains. If this was in a public auction, it would be considered illegal and a crime.

The first set of Pokemon appeared for the auction. Gan's eyes instinctively hovered over the little Budew, who was shaking with fear. Its little expression was sad, especially when it saw so many people appear before it.

They must have treated the little fella poorly or scared her into acting right.

This was a Sinnoh Pokemon, but Gan wouldn't mind using it for his Hoenn team in the future. Its potential was also quite good, so it was something Gan must purchase.

"These pokemon are not home to this region, which makes them rare commodities." Clearly, because they were regionals and couldn't be found here in Kanto; they were worthy of auctioning.

Qu'ron started with Gligar, he spoke about its talent, condition, and its hidden ability. He was going to do this with every pokemon that was auctioned since it was mandatory.

The bid started at ₱15,000 but in the end, Gan purchased it for ₱220,000. The pokemon was exchanged with Gan after winning the bid for it.

Poochyena was purchased by someone down below, she wore a cloak. Gan could tell it was a woman or a girl because of the feminine voice.

Gan was able to purchase the Budew, after a series of bidding. The price went up to ₱990,000 before he was able to get it.

"Damn! That nearly cost me a million!" Gan knew that if this was a public auction, the bidding war would have been grossly higher for this type of pokemon.

The talent alone would have warranted people to go crazy for it. This was especially because it was a baby freshly hatched.

They took this time to change and swap the cages to bring up different Pokemon.

The pokemon were three this time, but they were pokemon Gan already had. On top of that, the talents of these pokemon weren't as good as the ones he owned.

Afterward, more pokemon appeared on the stage, but they were pokemon Gan had already collected. This time, they were all pokemon from the Kanto region that he owned, so he wasn't interested.

Among them was Gan's Mr. Mime. However, it was in its Pokeball and not in a cage—presenting that it wasn't forcefully taken out of the wild.

Gan's Mr. Mime sold for ₱1,200,000!

This was mainly because of its rare typing being Psychic and Fairy. It had two of the greatest typings in one go and due to this, its price skyrocketed.

A dragon buster and telekinetic abilities, it was too amazing.

"The next Pokemon is pretty large, so it will be brought onto the stage alone for bidding." The auctioneer stepped away from the stage.

He continued. "There have been some changes with this Pokemon, we've dumped a large number of resources into it after understanding more about its condition."

A huge cage slowly emerged from the floor of the stage, revealing and long towering familiar figure to Gan.

It was Onix!

However, the coloration was off just as the list had stated. From what Gan could judge, it was indeed a shiny Onix.

Gan analyzed Onix for insurance.

-----

|Name: Onix♂ ✨

|Type: Rock + Ground

|Level: 15

|Ability: Rock Head

|Potential: ★★★★

|Nature: Impish

|Moves: Tackle| Bind| Rockthrow| Smack Down| Rock Polish| Dragon Breath|

-----

"Oh! Hahaha, it really is a shiny Pokemon!" Gan was so happy that he shouted in joy.

"I have to get this Pokemon, there's no telling when I'll see another shiny again. A shiny Steelix is a beauty to behold."

Gan also noticed that the talent had gone up from what was stated on the prior list. However, the new list that Gan received had the words modified next to Onix's name.

Gan remembered that Luke stated that there had been many changes to some Pokemon. The auctioneer even stated that they dumped many resources into this Onix.

"Nonetheless, this guy's mine." Gan smiled as his eyes stayed glued to Onix with a tinge of greed in them.
