Gan had left the Gym in deep thought; things were different than he expected in some places in this world. Viridian Forest happened to be one of those strange and changed places compared to the games and anime.
Brock had given him and map, but he also explained the dangers of Viridian Forest. It was best to have a type of Pokemon that could handle Bug types. If anything, Gan wanted to train his Pokemon there.
Gan learned and saw from the map that there were three Zones in Viridian Forest. The first Zone wasn't as bad, as most trainers could get pass this location with little to no problem. After all, you only needed to take the first Zone route to get out of the Viridian forest, so you weren't forced to pass through the other Zones.
In fact, the minute you entered Viridian Forest, you were already in Zone One.
The Pokemon that Dominated the First Zone was Beedrill; this Pokemon was a pain to deal with, as they traveled in groups. From what Gan had heard from Brock, they usually traveled in groups of three to five—sometimes six or seven!
Now, Beedrill was Poison and Bug-type, so it was considered a big threat by default. Things weren't any better with the fact that they traveled in groups and had attitude problems. What really rubbed Gan the wrong way was the fact that it was a Giant Wasp!
Who the hell named it Beedrill? Combee was a Bee-type Pokemon, Vespiquen was a Bee-type Pokemon but Beedrill surely wasn't!
Gan stored the map, he hoped the levels weren't so high because if they were, he was going to turn back in a heartbeat. He added his badge to his badge case and headed over to the Pokemon Center afterward to have his Pokemon Healed.
Gan didn't want to use Mankey for his Main Team, but he could use it for his Johto Team in the future.
Gan was also rewarded ₱6,000 for his victory over Brock. Once his Pokemon were healed, he congratulated Sandshrew on his fight before storing them. Walking out of the Pokemon Center, he attached his typical Pokemon's Pokeballs to his waist.
Geodude and Koffing.
Gan felt that today was a bit rough, so he decided to go to a hotel to rest in until tomorrow. He would catch and properly level up his Pokemon in Viridian Forest, hopefully.
Viridian Forest was the third Most Dangerous Place in Kanto, with Seafoam Island being fourth and Victory Road being number two. Most trainers got lost in Victory Road or killed by the powerful Pokemon there.
The little inns in Pewter City didn't cost much, so Gan paid without feeling any pain. The old man gave him the keys to his room and Gan left for his room. After going inside, he found that the room wasn't big at all.
It was enough to accommodate him today, so he dealt with it. Gan took his shoes off, then released his Pokemon to move freely.
"Dude!"
"Koffing!"
Koffing and Geodude looked at each other before looking toward Gan. He gave Geodude and Koffing something to eat and told them to relax a bit. Koffing didn't have to eat raw garbage all of the time, it could eat regular Pokemon food as well.
Jumping onto his bed, he looked at his Badge with a smile. Gan pulled up his status to see his progress so far.

"Twenty-two different species obtained so far, I need to get eight more to complete that mission from before." Gan thought for a moment, there should be enough to complete it once he entered and caught the Pokemon in Viridian Forest.
The Pokemon he was currently using was the Pokemon he planned to use for his Team Rocket Squad. Gan had yet to catch a Pokemon for his League Team. He quickly took his clothes off and hopped into a nice hot bath.
Gan relaxed in his bath before washing up and exiting the bathroom. He adventured a lot, so he knew he was going to need a lot of sleep for tomorrow. Gan dried off and brought out some pajamas he had gotten from the Pewter City clothing store.
They were DarkBlue Pajamas with flaming meteorites on them, with a Geodude face on each one. They looked pretty funny and cool to Gan, so he bought them. Gan fell asleep soon after, his Pokemon also rested after messing around a bit.
Time passed and the morning was approaching. Gan got up to take a piss, but when he was walking towards the bathroom, he saw a Rainbow light flash outside.
"What in the world is that?" Gan walked over to have a look out the window. Once he looked out, he looked toward the sky. What he saw stunned him, it was a Giant Bird Pokemon flying over Pewter City wrapped in Golden light with rainbow sparkles flashing around it.
"Ho-oh!" Gan instinctively called out its name, and it gave a cry as if it heard him. However, it kept flying into the distance until it couldn't be seen anymore.
Gan's mouth hung open for about a full minute before he came to himself. This Pokemon was one of his favorites of all time. Gan's favorite Pokemon out of all the Pokemon ever made was Alakazam, even up until the 8th Generation it remained his favorite.
"It must be a good day for me to see that Pokemon." Gan assumed, then he rushed to the bathroom soon after.
....
Several Hours Later.
Gan put his clothes back on and did his daily workout before eating breakfast, which was free at this inn. Gan fed his Pokemon, then headed over to Team Rocket's hideout to inform Warren about something.
He only told Warren that he was wondering if the Celadon City Branch could Deliver his custom-made Team Rocket Uniform. Warren said it could be done, and that he would have it arranged.
There was also something else Warren Informed Gan about.
Archer, the Team Rocket Admin had visited the Celedon City Branch yesterday for something. Gan only nodded and listened, but he didn't think about it as much. After settling that, he went off and out of the Team Rocket Base.
According to Warren, his Team Rocket Uniform should be delivered in two days flat. Gan loaded some of his Merit Points onto Warren's card to pay for the suit once the delivery had come. The man would seek out payment for the custom-made outfit.
Gan first headed to the Pokemart to load up on a few Potions and Antidotes. If he or any of his Pokemon were poisoned, he needed something to heal all of that. Now it was time to head to Viridian Forest.
"Bug Pokemon has to be one of the creepiest types around." It was too much to see large bugs running and flying around. This was especially ones that could use powers!
As he was walking towards Viridian Forest, Gan saw an entrance that had wood gates around it.
There was a sign that simply said: Diglett's Cave. Clearly, this path led to the cave, but this place was for another time in accordance with what Gan wanted to do now. There was a checkpoint station that had a few people in it.
Some of them were drinking tea and conversing.
Gan paid no attention to this and quickly made his way over to the exit to reach Viridian Forest. Some people looked at him with pity, but they didn't say anything.
Walking out, he was greeted with green lushes pine and oak trees that stood tall. The grass was just as green; the place looked healthy. Gan only took a few steps when he saw a green bug slither down a tree.
|Name: Caterpie♀
|Type: Bug
|Level: 6
|Ability: Shield Dust
|Potential: ★
|Nature: Quirky
|Moves: Tackle| String Shot|
"Caterpie, already?" Gan laughed slightly, but it was already close to level seven and ready to evolve. These Pokemon were easy to catch, this was why kids in the games ran around with nets to catch them.
"Geodude, pummel it a little." Geodude hovered over towards Caterpie, whose eyeballs went wide from surprise at the sight of Geodude and Gan. Caterpie shot string from its mouth but it wasn't enough to hinder Geodude.
Caterpie was slapped off the tree, then it started squirming around in pain.
Gan tossed a PokeBall at it and caught it with ease.
"Too easy!"
Gan removed the string from Geodude's body before going further into the forest. There were signs saying 'Station Exit Ahead', but Gan had already come from that station to get here. He had to admit that this place looked really beautiful, but it was too dangerous to live in.
As he was walking, he saw Pokemon hanging on trees, to be exact, they were Metapods.
|Name: Metapod♂
|Type: Bug
|Level: 9
|Ability: Shed Skin
|Potential: ★★★
|Nature: Modest
|Moves: Tackle| String Shot| Harden|
The highest was at Level nine, while the rest were at levels seven and eight. Gan had already made the highest-leveled Metapod his target.
"Attack the one in the middle, use Rock Slide on it!" Once Gan's voice fell; the Metapod opened their eyes and glared at him.
"Don't be mad, I'm gonna catch your buddy there, hehe!" Gan laughed, but just when his Geodude was about to attack; a wind kicked up and knocked Gan a few ways away.
Geodude only budged a little before looking in the direction of the high currents of wind.
"How can Vir... idian Forest be so windy?" Gan got on his knees and covered his eyes to look in the direction of the wind.
This wind wasn't natural!
What Gan saw next made that clear.
|Name: Butterfree♀
|Type: Bug/Flying
|Level: 11
|Ability: Compound Eyes
|Potential: ★★★
|Nature: Timid
|Moves: Tackle| String Shot| Confusion| Harden| Gust|
"I just entered this forest and I'm being attacked by one of the big fish here. Hehe, it looks like another target that wants to get caught!" Right as he said that two other Butterfree appeared on the scene.
"Okay, it looks like I'll have to be serious now." Gan's expression changed a bit.
