Chapitre 13: Chapter 13: The Right Words
Joy was struggling to find the right words for a chosen. She had finally gotten the hang of her mission and it made her want to help her bestfriend who was still crying, but now smiling wide. With that smile in her mind, she stood up and offered Mari her hand.
"Will you fight along with me? Will you promise me so we can recover together?" Joy asked her and Mari immediately took her hand.
"Of course. We will heal together. Healing is so much better if someone assures you you're not alone. " Mari pulled her into a warm hug while she thought of a clear image of Light, standing in front of her.
'Appear, Light..' she thought to herself and opened her eyes slowly. She was stunned for a moment because she saw him, standing in front of her with a cold gaze. 'What do i do?'
'First, proclaim yourself, second, you claim your right and power to do what you are ought to do, and third , what you want to do with her.' Light said and disappeared. Joy understood him and she took a deep breath and concentrated.
"I-I am Hope, a- the chosen one." She started to speak, while a cold feeling started to tingle her nerves. It was coming from the necklace and it spreads right through her body to Mari's.
"What are you saying? What is happening?"
Joy cleared her throat and tried to speak again, but this time, she found the courage and strength and also the right words.
'First, proclaim myself.' She thought to herself, 'then proclaim my power, then what I want to do...' She tightened their hug while Mari felt something wierd that was sorrounding her body. It was a silver light emanating from Joy, who was breathing hard. The light had given Mari soft sensations that she loved dearly- it was caressing her soul. She was still enjoying it when Joy has spoken.
"As the heavens appointed me,
I stand before you.
I am Hope, the chosen one.
I saw how you suffered and now I'm ending them all- believe me- they're all gone.
The pain in your heart, share it with me.
For you to see the happiness this world has hid.
So now be happy, hopeful and joyful.
Live life as you have resurrected from the dead."
A silver light had surrounded the both of them, who were still standing while hugging each other. The coldness that they both felt penetrated into their bones- and Joy held her arms because of the pinching pain that were starting to form as cuts while Mari, who was awestruck with the Light that was beaming from them felt her knees shudder and weaken. It was the best feeling Mari had ever felt in her entire life. She had recognized it as happiness and tried to remember the last time she had felt genuinely happy, but she failed because all the happiness and pain all her lufe was washed away from her heart because there has been no greater hapoiness than that of this one.
"Hope - I mean Joy was also struck by the pandemic-"
"Pandemic?" Light asked while holding a sandwich in his arms
"Oh, I've treated depression as a pandemic because it's a serious case and it's deadly like one. It has infected people worldwide after the war. I'm not actually in the position to say anything because I don't have the illness, and I do not have the right to tell them that I understand them, because no one will ever understand them unless they experience how depression feels like firsthand-" Nick hadn't finished his lengthy speech when Light interrupted him.
"We need to hurry." Light said and walked faster, and Nick started to tail him.
Nick gasped the moment they arrived at the rooftop because of the 2 bodies that had collapsed into the floor. Nick dropped everything he brought and ran towards Mari and Joy, who were, thankfully, still breathing. Light approached them and carried Joy in his arms while Nick did the same for Mari. Both of the girls were light and were sleeping loudly while Nick and Light hurried and went down.
People started to eye the four of them as they made their way through the crowd to get into the clinic. Everyone moved aside to let them pass and the both of them looked really cool. Joy, who had been knocked down by the intense light that had emanated from herself woke up with the sight of Light's chin and it was when she realized that she was being carried around. Light realized that she had woken up so he looked at her and patted her, saying "you've done well" Joy closed her eyes again, she was too worn out to reply and for a moment, she had the best slumber she had in years.
