Chapitre 4: Awakening
'A system? Nah! It's more like a shackle. I don't want it.' He mumbled inaudibly, not even the system inside his brain heard them.
The young man was awakened from his stupor when a black and white window appeared before his eyes, he immediately understood that this was his status window, containing pieces of information about his level and his current strength. From the basic information in the data inside his brain, he knew how the power system was classified, from level 1 to 12 while stats are graded by rank, from E to Ex Rank. He would do more research later in a proper environment and after getting proper rest.
However right now the young man was more curious about his strength so finally his eyes laid upon the status window.

''I see, it is not bad.'' Adam declared after checking his status.
〖?〗The system thought she had misheard.
Meanwhile, Adam ignored her as he was neither disappointed nor surprised as he found his current status to be normal, knowing what he went through was to be expected but there was something he was dissatisfied with.
''What with that lame name? Hell, no I don't want it, I will change it.'' Adam immediately declared upon seeing his name, he started thinking of his next name, he ran through the data inside his brain to search for a name fitting him.
Meanwhile, the system was shocked once again, she wondered if its owner hadn't made a terrible mistake by attaching her to this man as he was too bizarre but she didn't say anything because she knew well her opinion wasn't needed. All she could do was to silently do what she had been assigned hoping for the best.
Finally, because he was satisfied with the name he found Adam finally announced.
''It is decided from now on I'll be Dante Orion White.''
The system couldn't understand its owner's choice and Dante didn't explain himself as only he knew why he selected those names, the first one means steadfast; enduring; everlasting, this name is related to him, what he went through and his desire for the future while the second name was simply for acting cool, it also means hunter.
''Shall I find a quiet corner to use for the awakening?" Dante said while searching for a quiet and deserted alley.
The system although born without emotions couldn't help but feel frustrated at the moment, she almost shouted why do you say those words if you would start searching for a quiet place right away? But she stopped herself from answering instead.
〖Yes!〗
And soon Dante found somewhere appropriate he stopped and asked.
''This place should be good right?" He stopped and waited for the system's response because he knew not to push things too hard to awaken her vigilance, he ought to play it smartly and she fell for it.
〖Yes this place is perfect as no one would come here.〗The system responded, relieved that Dante seemed to be coming back to his senses which would mean he was not a rebel, at least not yet.
''Great, let's begin. How should I proceed?" Dante asked hiding his smirk as he disappeared into the dark alley, darkness swallowing him and strangely his heterochromia eyes who should have shone in the darkness didn't.
Now that Dante was asking about its opinion, the system was at ease and she immediately began to instruct him how he should act.
〖Take out the Awakening and let its energy flow into your body, do not resist it. It might take some time and as I've mentioned many times already it would be painful.〗
Dante nodded before taking out the awakening stone, he followed the instructions given by the system, but he didn't stop the mysterious energy inside the awakening stone from entering his body, at first it was harmless but soon this changed because suddenly, Dante's vision went blurry as tears filled his eyes as the pain kicked in. Biting the pain was barely an option as agonizing cramps seemed to crush his insides from within. The pain became disorienting and it started to affect his judgment, but despite this, or perhaps due to this, he continued onward. The pain shouldn't be more than a minor nuisance to him as he was prepared for it, but right now it was far more than that.
Dante tried his hardest to ignore the pain and focus on both continuing with what he was doing while still allowing the injuries to heal. But after a few more moments of pure focus, he managed to block out the pain enough to make it nothing more than a minor annoyance. It'll last a while, but he managed to endure at last as he remembered to have experienced something far more worse and painful while still infant in the tank.
After what seemed to be an eternity, the pain stopped and a refreshing feeling washed over his body and soul, he felt that something inside him had been set free when he heard the system's voice following a system's prompt following many messages flashing before Dante's retina.
