"What do you mean future husband?"

Kareem clenched his fists under the table. A man who's got guts to declare himself the empress' future husband would be, if not an idiot, is on equal status as her. 

"I want to see the empress and see if she really is what the people say," his smile was disarming. Now that he noticed it, there was an aura of royalty about him.

"She does not have to prove herself to you and no one is allowed to see her yet," he said sternly. "Even if you are a prince of another kingdom."

"Is that so? But what if I have something that she wants? The last thing that she needs to fulfill the spell for her sister?" 

"Mariek is gone," Elisha's bloodshot eyes suddenly appeared before him. Blood drained from Kareem's face. He felt his knees go weak.
