Chapitre 51: Blue

Warm light surrounded Yllana's whole body. The intense cold she was feeling for days slowly dispersed. She gradually opened her eyes and saw a wooden beam. Sunlight was peeking through the small spaces through the wooden walls.

She roamed her eyes around the room. 'I have been here before,' she thought. When she fully remembered the familiar place, she hastily sits up. Her action brought pains in different parts of her body. She pulled up her sleeves to see where the pains are coming from. She saw the sword slashes and other cuts she got in the battle arena in the South Kingdom. There are visible black spots around each wound that seems to be disappearing. "Poison…" she whispered to herself.

The face of a man with black hair and purple eyes flashed in her mind. She squinted her eyes. Someone wants to try to kill her. And she had a glimpse of that face twice. She would not let this go. A dangerous glint flashed across her eyes.

She saw her companions inside the room too. They were all asleep. Taking a deep breath, she sat cross-legged on the bed and started to accumulate the life force that she has gained from the last battle. When she closed her eyes, she could see herself as an invisible vessel. Inside her body, she could feel different life forces circulating. She needed to capture these forces and bring it to her core. Her core can be found within her chest. Once this core gets filled, she will have that breakthrough.

Since she only had her last breakthrough a few months ago, it will take her longer to fill up her next level of cultivation. She peeked inside her chest through her mind. 'Strange, last time that I was here, it was not this dark inside. I could not even fathom how much life force I should pour in into this space.'

She could remember clearly that her core was an island with a small pool where she collects the life forces. Now she could not even see where she was standing because it was too dark. When she took a deep breath, she noticed a small ball of blue light above her. It was as small as a grape. When she stared at it a little while longer, her eyes widened. The light was getting bigger and bigger!

No! It was more likely to be coming to her and fast! As she was inside her core, she has nowhere to run. There was darkness all over the place. All she could do now is wait for it to hit her or she could just dodge it when it gets near.

"Master!"

'It speaks!' Yllana's body froze in place. She clearly heard a voice of a girl. And since it was only her and the ball of light, it was the one who spoke the word 'Master'.

When the ball was about the size of a coconut, she noticed that it has a face. 'So, it was not a ball of light after all.' She heaved a sigh of relief and crossed her arms above her chest. "Who are you?" She asked when the ball of light got close enough to her. What made her look like a ball of light was the light shining around her.

The girl was smaller than her and had all blue features. Blue hair, blue eyes, blue lips, and blue dress, everything about her is blue! Even her earring and on her right ear was engraved with a blue gem. Yllana saw the earring and she immediately clutched her chest as if there was something that she was trying to hold. But as she was inside her mind and her physical body was outside, she forgot that her necklace was not with her now.

"I do not have a name. Maybe you can give me one, Master?" The girl tilted her head to the side. It was only then that Yllana spotted that the girl was floating.

"Did you come from the pendant?"

"Yes,"

"Why did you call me Master?"

"Because…you are." The girl giggled. She was looking curiously at Yllana while continuing to tilt her head slowly from side to side.

"What are you? And how did you enter my core?"

"I am the spirit that was entrapped inside the pendant. The moon teardrop you possess is not just a protection charm for your physical body, it is also a protective shell for your core. That is why, it is currently dark inside your core. I came here since you made a blood pact with the pendant. And now, you are my master. If you could just give me a cute name, then things will not be too difficult in the future."

"I will call you Blue." The girl's mouth twitched. She said 'cute' wasn't it obvious she did not want to be named after the color that she now embodies? Instead of saying out loud what she was thinking, she just bowed her head and knelt, "Blue recognizes Yllana Saber as her master until her last breath falls."

Boom!

An explosion of blue light with shimmering small blue gems erupted within the dark space and illuminated the surroundings. The dark space turned into an island with a blue and indigo sky mixed. Yllana was awed with what she saw.

Back then when she was a Holy Knight, her core was just a small island and she is already considered a genius. But now, the island has transformed into what seems to be ten times larger than her previous one. There were even trees and several empty pools around her. "What happened?"

Blue tilted her head once again. "I thought this was yours? How come you only knew about it now? Your core is more vast than ordinary ones, so we need to find you more resources to accumulate a huge amount of life force for you to advance to the next rank. Of course, the bigger the pool you have to fill in the more stable your powers will become."

Yllana massaged her temples. Why did her life become more difficult after the war? Is this retribution? Did she anger the heavens so much that it has decided to unleash its wrath upon her?

"Blue, I need to be stronger in the next months. Or else, not even you or this island will exist anymore."

"Then…you need to get rid of the poison first. After that, I will just talk to you within your soul for the next steps to take."

"Why would you help me? You were only entrapped within the pendant." Yllana suddenly remembered Blue's words.

Blue looked away and smiled bitterly. "As long as you are alive master, I will also live and see the world. I have not been in the outside world as a being before. But if you become stronger, there is a possibility that I could acquire a human form. My only wish is to see the world that my previous masters have seen."

Yllana caught the sadness in Blue's tone. "How did you get trapped in the pendant? And who did it to you?"

"You will know soon enough, but not right now. Everything will be revealed." Blue's eyes twinkled like the stars. She kept on floating in mid-air.

She was to ask something more to Blue when Yllana felt something warm touched her hand. It was soft and warm and somewhat brought tingles inside her. When she lifted her hand, there was nothing there. Then she remembered that maybe it was something outside her core. She bid goodbye to Blue as the spirit could not accompany her outside yet.

Yllana was still sitting on a lotus position when she opened her eyes. 'Strange,' she thought. Nothing was touching her hand when she regained her consciousness.

"How are you feeling?"

Yllana almost jumped in shock when she did not notice that Lucien was sitting beside her. He was staring at her hand that she was still holding with the other. When she did not answer quickly, he asked again.

"I-I'm fine, just…" she could not find the right words to say about how her body feels now. Maybe it was the poison acting up. Maybe it was the reason she felt that tingling sensation.

"Kareem," Lucien walked to the window and called out a young boy with orange hair.

"Your name is Kareem?" Yllana wanted to move out of the bed but there was a stinging pain starting to crawl on her thighs. Her face paled and she lowered her head.

"The antidote,"

"Of course, mister." Kareem was all smiles when he approached Yllana. He took out a porcelain bottle and started administering the ointment on Yllana's wounds when Lucien snatched the bottle from him.

Kareem felt a murderous aura radiating behind him. "Y-you said-"

"Out, I changed my mind." Lucien frowned at Kareem's hands. The young boy who was about thirteen years old only scratched his head.

'Why do grown-ups always change their minds?'
