Dinner that evening was a quiet one. Lijuan wondered why no one was talking about what she had done as she stole glances at all of them.

Why was her father eating quietly and not saying anything nor giving her his usual hostile frown? Neither Rong nor Jiaying were glaring at her or making fun of her either. 

Were they possibly so angry and disappointed in her that they couldn't stand talking to her anymore? She thought as her heart started beating really fast. 

Maybe it was best if she just raised the topic herself and save herself the headache and worry? Lijuan wondered as she pushed her food around her plate. She couldn't believe she didn't have appetite to eat because they weren't saying anything to her. Was that how much she had grown accustomed to being scolded?

She cleared her throat and everyone turned to look at her, "About yesterday..." She started but Chairman Mei cut her off.
