<Codex of Infinity>[Volume 1, Excerpt 1]:: In the beginning, there was only the Main Path in which the Barren Lands were comprised of 10 coexisting, yet separate planes that came to be known as the 9 Dimensions and the Desolate Mausoleum. As time went on and events unfolded, certain events in the Main Path that affected the Barren Lands on a large scale were designated as Major Nexus Events. Each time that such an event occurs, Parallel Paths branch off from that point in time in the Main Path. These Parallel Paths encompass all of the possibilities of how the Major Nexus Event can transpire, from timelines in which the event does not occur for various reasons to timelines in which the event occurs with slightly different outcomes. However, this is not the case for a special type of Major Nexus Event, called an Irreversible Nexus Event, which not only spawns Parallel Paths from the Main Path, but also spreads to affect all existing Parallel Paths.
