Chapitre 95: Ch.8
I sat on a cushion while relaxing to the sounds of Gu Bei and Lu Piao yelling. They'd just started a few days ago and it had been funny to start with but then I'd gotten tired of hearing them and put up a barrier.
Gu Bei and Lu Piao continued yelling loudly.
"The Demon League is recruiting! Twenty spiritual stones a month and all kinds of bonuses! Those with Earth Spiritual Roots get thirty spiritual stones a month. Those with Heaven Spiritual Roots get forty spiritual stones a month!"
"No deadline, those who sign the league contract get an allowance of thirty spiritual stones immediately!"
Once an expert signed a contract, they would be bound to it. Despite that, the majority of the newcomers still joined various large forces. When an expert reached 2-fate, they'd head for the outside world. However, a person's strength is insufficient! In order to obtain more resources, it was a must for them to be part of a larger force.
Gu Bei and Lu Piao's loud yelling attracted attention.
Many people crowded in their direction. Usually, a newcomer would only receive an extremely low allowance upon joining a large force; ten spiritual stones a month was already pretty good. But Gu Bei and Lu Piao were offering several times that amount, per month!
However, many people were still hesitant. Before these newcomers joined a force, they'd make sure that their potential boss had prospects. After all, once the contract was signed, its effects would always be in place, unless special circumstances occurred. If they broke their league contracts, it'd be hard for them to gain a foothold within the Divine Feathers Sect. They'd become objects of disdain.
The newcomers stood in groups, discussing it amongst themselves.
"Where are these two from?"
"Don't you know? That youth is Gu Bei! It's confirmed that he had integrated with a Dragon Bloodline God Level demon spirit and promoted to the first-in-line successor's seat of the Gu Clan!"
When the newcomers heard that, their eyes lit up. The first-in-line successor of the Gu Clan. Who knows, he might become the Gu Clan's Patriarch in the future! Furthermore, Gu Bei had yet to establish any forces of his own in the outside world. If they joined now, once Gu Bei became the Patriarch of the Gu Clan, they'd become honorable subordinates who helped raise the dragon!
This was definitely a great temptation!
Furthermore, Gu Bei was also giving such shocking and tempting conditions.
Soon, one after another, the newcomers started signing the league contract with Gu Bei.
However, these newcomers quickly realised that the boss of the Demon League wasn't Gu Bei, but actually someone else. Curiosity arouse within them for this mysterious person. Just who was this person? To make someone like Gu Bei serve him willingly?
The other recruiters all dumbfoundedly watched the flood of newcomers moving towards Gu Bei and Lu Piao. Only a few headed in their own direction.
After all, the difference in salary was too much!
After several hours I lowered the barrier and saw the crowd that had gathered. A few flinched as they recognized me but many showed respect. Gu Bei shouted over their voices. "Senior brother Lu fènghuáng is our foremost expert and has agreed to be our war general!"
Many in the crowd grew hushed as I spoke loud and clear while my voice carried a great distance. "You have my word as a peak heavenly star realm that I will be the first and last out of battle, fighting by your sides and using my full strength to see that each of you return unharmed. You also have my word that should any of you fall, I will avenge you with my full capabilities and see to it that those responsible suffer the consequences for their actions! HAIL THE DEMON LEAGUE! LET NO CHALLENGERS GO UNCONQUERED!"
My voice echoed like a cannon blast throughout the sign up area. With my reputation and strength alone I could've simply made my own forces but that would be boring, knocking off people like a chess match. This way I am considered a mere annoyance to those with full forces and they'll try to distract and draw me away from battle to see about knocking off the rest.
When I sat back down cheers shook the surroundings as nearly a thousand signed up right then and there including three heavenly star realm experts that had failed to join others for various reasons.
They joined me and the two idiot yelling about up on the platform as I passed them spirit essence upon signing the contract and saying. "We take care of our own here. You'll receive a cultivation method tailored to you specifically along with one spirit essence a month with the added spirit stones you'd normally get as a bonus until you're a heavenly axis realm expert."
I waved for them to sit as I continued when they did so. "When you reach heavenly axis realm you'll receive an extraordinary growth rate dragon bloodline demon spirit if you don't already have one. Add to that you'll begin receiving five spirit essence a month on top of the regular spirit stones."
Their eyes shined as they saw me and the demon league in a new light. Before they thought we were easy money but now we'd become a guiding light to their path of power. I tapped their heads after reading their realms with a glance and giving them powerful techniques that made their old ones look like trash.
They began cultivating immediately right there as I tossed up a barrier between us and the noisy crowd. When it got boring again, I left them there to cultivate while I headed to the apartment.
Over the next month, Nie Li, Gu Bei, and Lu Piao reorganized the entire Demon League and imparted Martial Ancestor Realm cultivation techniques to the members. After that, they picked out members with decent characters who were worth being groomed, and prepared to turn them into true elites and the backbone of the Demon League.
The entire Demon League entered into intense training.
During this period, Li Xingyun visited several times to teach Gu Bei and Lu Piao how to lead their underlings, how to be impartial with reward and punishments, and when to retreat or advance as an army. Gu Bei and Lu Piao to grew quite a bit from these lessons.
Although the Demon League hadn't truly stepped into the outside world, they'd stirred the attention of the Skysoul Institute and became the focus of attention for many people.
The Yin league had declared they would kill anyone of the demon league that stepped foot outside the sect. I proceeded to do so and drained them before slaughtering them all, leaving them legend ranks once more. I took that opportunity to break through to heavenly axis realm.
Nie Li was busy making deals to buy nearly dry lakes from those who needed the cash and using Li Xingyun's influence to do so. When he ran into a mid grade deity lake owned by a dao of the dragon demon beast, he contacted me about it and said we'd be attacking it with Li Xingyun's men in two days time.
We waited those two days with the small force Li Xingyun had around one of his small deity lakes. The only interesting thing to happen was that Long Yuyin showed up there and Nie Li basically told her to create her own separate force if she truly wanted to help him.
Li Xingyun promised to help her and Gu Bei establish their forces and help them mature. She agreed almost instantly only stopping to kick me in the shin saying. "Tell that bully Duan Jian that I'll get him back for stealing my first kiss!"
I chuckled nodding as she left. I then went back to meditating. I had no real motive to do so other than to pass the time. I'd already cultivated to rank two heavenly axis and made tens of thousands of god and extraordinary rank dragon bloodline demon beasts.
I was waiting on more ordinary and good ones to arrive so until then I was preparing to have my vine swallow a shadow legion demon beast spirit I'd made into a god growth rate dragon bloodline. It would then feed my shadow devil demon spirit and hopefully evolve it further into a dragon bloodline, increasing it's abilities effectiveness several fold.
On the second morning I began as once again the pin was excruciating. Instead of exploding into fire like the green luan had, it turned into a dark shadowy void with read eyes until it came out fully, evolved and mutated.
It was now a shadow king demon spirit with a mutation that allowed me to shadow walk within a limited area. So long as there were shadows, I could step through and appear out of the shadows up to five leagues away on a whim.
It kept the void form but the bone sickle talons were replaced with bone scythe hands and a bone stinger tail. It made me look like a skeletal dragon mated with a an alien queen from AVP.
I wasn't in fact that big, but the crown like head with no eyes and the mouth certainly applied. Hell, I'd even gotten the corrosive spit down. I truly looked ridicules and nightmarish are the same time. The next morning we moved out in force.
When we arrived in the lake's vicinity, one of Li Xingyun's men reported us being followed. Chuckling I told them. Why don't we make a sport of it then? I'll tether to all but the dao of the dragon Infernal Lightning Winged Snake and once Nie Li and I are in place to drain the lake and it's deity spirit, you and your men pretend to attack it then flee in Gu Heng's direction."
"Once you're far enough away, I'll take the stones and kill the Infernal Lightning Winged Snakes, pissing off the dao of the dragon one. It'll assume you and your people did something and go after, head on into Gu Heng's people while you lot disappear and scatter. Nei Li will use that opportunity to take the deity lake spirit."
The plan was solid enough a dozen of them laughed their asses off. Li Xingyun and Nei Li both agreed to it as we began. I tossed out tethers like they were going out of stile. When we'd snuck to the center of the lake, I sent a mental command through a talisman and they began.
The Infernal Lightning Winged Snakes were pissed off and angry as soon as they approached and several were killed instantly before they fled, tails between their legs. They passed up Gu Heng's hidden force without looking back and I drained the Infernal Lightning Winged Snakes and took all the lake's essence and stones, severely pissing off the dao of the dragon realm demon beast.
It roared and leapt to the perfect conclusion that it was the human's that did something, stealing it's treasure and killing hundreds of it's children. Enraged it chased after them and when it was nearly to Gu Heng's people, Nie Li came out and got to work immediately.
The lake rumbled and shook but it was already too late as it was slaughtering Gu Heng's men. As soon as he had the deity lake spirit, we disappeared and watched as the dao of the dragon realm demon beast became more enraged and slaughtered them all.
Gu Heng tried to leave with an escort but that backfired as it thought they had whatever messed up the lake. I winced with Nie Li as they died horribly and we escaped. When we met back up with Li Xingyun and his men, not a one had died.
I slipped away once more and looted Gu Heng's body and that of all his men's. When I brought back the loot they all laughed, as this venture had cost them nothing but time. We headed back to the sect where Gu Heng and his men finally reformed spitting mad.
They cursed us and said some very hurtful things until I asked. "What snake crawled up their asses?"
Li Xingyun smirked. "Clearly one with wings."
Gu Heng and his men's faces turned black as they stopped away cursing up a storm. I passed Li Xingyun the spirit essence and stones is taken from the lake saying. "We've got our prize and it's only fair your men be paid for their parts in it. Use the rest to bolster your strength as I fear this won't be the last we hear of Gu Heng."
He accepted it without protest as there was ten million in essence and spirit stones there and he really could use it. I went back to refining demon spirits and feeding my own to all reach second rank heavenly axis realm.
When I'd completed that and passed off the results to Gu Bei and Lu Piao to be disseminated amongst our people, I turned to cultivating and visiting the Celestial Treasure Pavilion. I'd bought them out of nearly all grade six artifacts they had in stock at just over market price, making me their most valued customer.
They had to replenish their stock nearly every three day as I'd made custom orders from then on. I hadn't been cheap like Nie Li as I knew the girls there needed to make a living as well so when I say just over I mean a few thousand spirit stones more than their bottom line per artifact.
They weren't making it rich but they certainly loved that I bought in bulk. Unfortunately grade six artifacts were the best they had and the gods artifact pavilion was simply too far away to be worth the trip.
On the bright side I'd grown three more ranks over the past week while utilizing my time law. It only served to increase my wealth seventy fold as I'd only used gold spirit stone essence in that time while collecting the rest.
I was pushing on an insane amount of wealth now as hundreds of millions of spirit stones made mountains in my storage ring. When Nie Li asked if I'd be interested in a trip to the Celestial Treasure Pavilion for armor, I decided some time outside my scroll was a good idea.
I put it in my soul realm where the laws of time I had wrapped around it kept it suspended in the air as it fluttered there. Truthfully I believed we could just buy the sect master position if it came down to it. The ability to drown the sect in spirit stones has got to interest the five big martial ancestors.
Along the way Nie Li told me about his apprenticeship with Hierarch Skycloud. As amusing as that was the entertainment of seeing Li Yufeng getting frustrated was far better. He was supposed to be Li Xingyun's rival for the patriarch seat but seeing him call a twelve thousand spirit stone artifact too expensive was just too damn funny.
I leaned over to Li Xingyun and asked. "This guy is your rival? He's a cheap idiot! At least Gu Heng can put up a fight so long as it's not snake related. He doesn't look like he could get a puppy to follow him, let alone an army."
My words were heard by all and the pavilion tried hard not to show their amusement by my words but Li Yufeng saw it all the same and turned to me cursing. "Whose the idiot you weak ass-"
That's as far as he got as my killing intent nearly choked him to death. I chuckled with a bloodthirsty grin while he choked out and paled. "It's you!"
I smirked. "Yes weakling, it's me. The monster of the divine feathers sect and the one you called an ass. Now, the real question becomes, do I let you go or do I hunt down every single force you have outside the sect and turn them all into legend rank weaklings?"
His face turned bloodless as I chuckled. "Don't worry, what I can do to them besides making them weak would shatter their minds leaving them drooling all over themselves. I've yet to do such things for obvious reasons. Being called a monster is fine, but turning hundreds men into drooling vegetables would earn me scorn I doubt the sect would stand for. Perhaps I'll just offer them money to kill you off each time you step out of the sect."
I leaned in. "After all, that's how you got their loyalty isn't it? That's why you're so broke now I'd imagine."
I picked up the thin sword he'd been looking at and complaining about the price on. Without looking at the price tag, I put it in his hands saying. "Take it, this ones on me. Consider it a charity case."
His pale face went red while I turned to the girl at the counter saying. "Add whatever the price is to today's bill and I'll settle up when we go to leave. I'm sure my word is enough to let this respectable young master leave with his toy?"
She smiled. "Of course sir. Your word is as good as spirit essence!"
She turned to Li Yufeng and said. "Please enjoy your sword sir and have a nice day!"
He finally had enough and lost his shit, storming out. I sat back down and sipped my tea while the rest howled with laughter. Nie Li asked. "Do you really think you could pay off his men into killing him when he leaves the sect?"
I snorted. "Probably. If that didn't work, there's always torture and mind manipulating techniques. Though I doubt it'd take such things because if it did, there'd be no need for the elders of the Ashen Flames family to pressure Li Xingyun into throwing his support behind Li Yufeng."
Li Xingyun sighed. "The previous patriarch was his father so most of the elders support him as they are the old guard. I was supposed to receive the one god growth rate dragon bloodline demon spirit the family managed to get ahold of but he used those connections to integrate with it first. From there our strengths began to become so distant that he's already a third rank heavenly axis realm."
I grunted. "You mean he's useless trash right? I mean, while the cultivation is impressive, he couldn't even convince those that follow him into battle to actually be loyal to his cause if nothing else. And that my friend, is difficult to do with his background as first successor of the Ashen Flames family. That means they either don't think he's qualified or don't actually believe he'll become the patriarch and reward them for their loyalty. Neither of which bodes well for the Ashen Flames family."
Li Xingyun and Nie Li both nodded in agreement. Li Xingyun finally sighed. "I've got the demon spirit now and my cultivation is on the rise thanks to you all, but in the end I'm still not yet his match."
I chuckled. "Then after this I'll help you out. I've a cultivation method tailor made for your soul realm and physique."
He thanked me once more and I waved over the girls at the counter. When they came over, one set a ring on the table saying. "This is all the grade six artifacts we have right now. Like always we'll go with young master Lu's price."
I smirked and Nie Li gave me a look. I shrugged. "I've been buying up all their grade six artifacts for a month now. Every three days I come here to buy up all they have."
He frowned and I shrugged. "It's for the demon league so relax. I figure once they reach heavenly star realm, grade six artifacts would be very useful in helping to make up the numbers for the heavenly axis realm experts others have. A sort of secret reward if you will, but only for the loyal."
He nodded and I turned to the girls, after inspecting the ring and gave them my price of twenty six million. They'd be making an extra million to split between both of them. They were extremely satisfied with the results as I took out a ring and a pile of spiritual stones for the grade five artifact I'd bought Li Yufeng.
They immediately took them and poured more tea. After a while each of them had selected armor and weapons they wanted and took them for themselves. When they were done I gifted ten sets of grade six artifacts to Li Xingyun saying. "Use them for your forces to bolster their strength."
Li Xingyun and I parted from the rest as I gave him his new cultivation technique before telling him. "I'll be taking my leave now. I've a couple of days to prepare for the district battles. I'm one of the five challengers apparently."
He nodded and wished me good luck before I left, headed to the apartment. Two days later my hopes and dreams of beating the shit out of someone were crushed. The east district only takes those still in the fate soul realm. Once you've entered heavenly star realm you're required to battle for a chance to go to the central district.
When I arrived the teachers saw my strength and told me. "I'd this a joke? Why would a heavenly axis realm expert care about joining the east district? Stand to the side and you'll be sent to the central district with those that qualify."
Grumbling I smirked when I saw Nie Li's ugly expression when he found out he had to fight for first place. The current first place was a peak heavenly star realm expert and the martial ancestors wanted to truly test him.
I watched him toy with the former first place, changing demon spirits repeatedly before revealing his own mutated dragon bloodline god growth rate demon spirit, the saint Jiao dragon. He beat the first place down before being told to stand next to me.
That is until Hierarch Crimsonblood and the others asked us to fight each other. Nie Li had paled before cursing repeatedly and calling Nanmen Tianhai an idiot and asking him to fight a martial ancestor. They were senior and junior brothers under Hierarch Skycloud so Nanmen Tianhai couldn't really force him to do anything.
I stepped into the ring and waited. Nie Li was finally contacted by the martial ancestor and reluctantly agreed. When he stepped into the ring he said. "No draining and only one demon spirit for you please."
I grunted and shifted into my shadow king. It's nightmarish appearance making those around us scream in terror and asking what creature it was. It gave off the aura of a god growth rate dragon bloodline so they new I was qualified at least. Nie Li licked his lips and turned into his shadow devil before we disappeared to their senses and began our battle.
It didn't take more than a few hits with the armor Nie Li was wearing to be forced to change tactics. He switched to his fanged panda and spit out a yin yang blast times one hundred, I spit out a corrosive venom shot and the resulting explosion devastated the battlefield.
Our laws eating away at hatch other while the cracked and broken field covered in dust. I moved and appeared right behind him with my scythe like forearms at his throat.
I had him dead to rights and he knew it. Sighing he gave up and I was announced the obvious winner. What was said next surprised even me. Nanmen Tianhai stepped on the field as Nie Li left it saying. "I've been assigned to be your next opponent by my master Hierarch Skycloud."
I snorted. "Then I give up. I've no reason to repeated the battle I just fought in reverse."
He smirked. "Who said you have a choice in the matter?"
I smirked. "I did. If I disappear, not even your master can find me. So pass, find some other dummy to pick on or better yet why don't you go fight a martial ancestor."
I heard Hierarch Crimsonblood in my ear now. "The others are watching and I wish to show them my disciple isn't weak. Do this and I'll accept one request from you."
Growling I told him. "Your disciple may or may not be weak, but he certainly isn't stupid either! I know my limits and I know I cannot tether, even if it were allowed, to a dao of the dragon realm expert without them being able to trace it back to me! I've no defense that could stop him from simply killing me either!"
My master sighed. "I'll personally hold your axis soul, if you perish I'll help you return to your current strength with the resources available to me and you are allowed to tether as you called it, in this one case."
I grunted and said aloud. "Fine! Have it your way. If I die though, just remember, everyone sleeps sometime, even dao of the dragon realm experts."
Nanmen Tianhai snorted and told me. "Then prepare yourself!"
I grunted and shifted into my shadow king before he frowned. As soon as he went to attack, I vanished. He searched around and pressed outwards with his dao of the dragon aura but my protection remained.
I flickered next to him and swiped, cutting a trail across his clothes and barely scratching his skin with my full strength. It lasted for a moment only but it was enough to get him to be weary now. I went around him and stabbed quickly this time and he was nearly fast enough to catch me when I pulled back. Sighing I circled him and spit acid shots that did little more than melt his clothes while he yelled and called me a coward.
Finally, when I saw an opening, I went across the arena and tethered to him. As soon as it connected I immediately began shifting into my green phoenix form for the first time. I flew in the air to get some distance but that left me with very little time as he was coming.
I'd begun draining him but dao of the dragon realm experts could resist and he was most certainly doing so! I shrieked and sent a tidal wave of green flames at his advancing and angry form. I held nothing back and felt delighted when he didn't block them. These flames did little to the physical body as they attacked and burnt the soul!
He realized his mistake immediately and tried to purge them while dodging the next wave but that left him distracted and I was able to latch on fully with my tether and drain him in earnest. So much heavenly energy! It truly wasn't a wonder why dao of the dragon realm experts could resist! They had so much that they were able to sense and clog up the connection!
I linked more and more tethers to him as I'd never done before all while firing waves of flames and flying back to get some distance. Finally as he felt what was happening, he got enraged further and actually took on his demon spirits form.
A fiery lava lizard appeared and it attacked with a fiery vengeance. The tethers drained him more and more but he ignored the and attacked without worrying about wether he could block or dodge anymore. A reckless berserker using overwhelming force.
When the flames hit me, I thanked the goddess I was a phoenix at the moment as they passed right through me only doing heavy damage and not actually killing me immediately. More and more tethers appeared on him, draining as much as I possibly could in these few precious moments left.
When another wave of molten rock came along with his fiery fist I finally had enough and cut all the tethers simultaneously before turning into my shadow king in the nick of time and dropping out of the sky while dodging and going invisible.
The landing hurt but I couldn't use heavenly energy without being detected so pain became my friend. He raged in the air searching for me for several minutes before yelling and demanding I showed myself to die like a man.
I of course appeared at the edge of the arena field as I hopped down saying aloud. "I give, I can't go on."
My burnt and wounded form was evident now as I admitted defeat readily. Nanmen Tianhai was having none of that as he attacked while I entered the crowd, clearly still clouded by rage. Before it could do any damage though, his attack dissipated.
And a thunderous voice was heard. "Do not attack others outside the battlefield again!"
My master was clearly angry as his voice was the one heard. An old man appeared next, floating over the crowd. It was Hierarch Skycloud and he was disappointed in his disciple. "Go back to the pavilion and seek enlightenment upon your actions for three months. You are supposed to set an example for these youths not endanger them!"
Nanmen Tianhai looked ashamed as he shifted back and bowed at once. It must've finally hit him how much I'd taken because he turned pale and asked. "Master, can you let me get back the heavenly energy he's stolen from me at least? My cultivation will suffer if I'm to recover so much."
Hierarch Skycloud looked to me and I shook my head. "I'm the injured party here, if I'm to return his heavenly energy then let me take his skin as compensation. I promise it'll only be a light flaying. Totally something a dao of the dragon realm expert can survive."
Nanmen Tianhai's face went purple while Hierarch Skycloud sighed and turned to Nanmen saying. "Go back and meditate to recover what you lost. Think of it as compensation for those you nearly murdered."
Nanmen Tianhai's face went from frustrated rage to solemn acceptance with revenge sparking in his heart. He clearly wouldn't forget this matter lightly. Hierarch Crimsonblood's voice appeared in my ears saying. "You did exceptionally well and from the amount you took it's a reward all it's own."
I grunted. "Maybe, or maybe I barely survived. A moment slower and I'd be dead right now. It truly was by by luck that I'd begun falling when I shifted or that last attack would've ended me."
I rubbed the burnt and singed hairs on my head while I sighed. "Now for my reward. I want a weighted training set that weighs fifty tons. I need to train my body before I make the leap to dao of the dragon realm."
His musical voice came back. "I'll see what I can do. It shouldn't take much time as dao of the dragon experts train with such things."
I turned to Nie Li and the rest before Huang Yu, the other examiner, announced the next fight. I headed to my master's pavilion and waited there in meditation while I healed my body with pills and heavenly energy. After a few hours I felt him return and help me heal the last of my injuries.
When I opened my eyes I thanked him and he tossed me the weighted training armor. I cough it and put it away before meditating and integrating the soul force I'd taken from Nanmen Tianhai. It was certainly more than I'd ever taken before but my vine tree had grown as well since then so it only showed signs of bloating and not exploding.
I made a barrier of the law of time in the few feet around me and began training. A week went by inside my a barrier before I'd finished assimilating all the energy and stabilizing my new power as a nine heavenly axis peak expert. I hadn't yet touched on the dao of the dragon realm but then the energy I took could only get me so far.
When I opened my eyes and lowered the barrier Hierarch Skycloud asked. "How is it you can manipulate time?"
I chuckled. "It's limited but the law energy inside me that I absorbed from tiny world is how. I've received enlightenment in the law of time and as such I was able to take I that energy from tiny world and keep it alive with my own heavenly energy."
He nodded. "Tiny world truly is unique. The supreme expert that sealed it away certainly left many strange things like these laws you speak of. Your the first to wield the law of time that I've heard of but I've heard of other laws."
I nodded and he told me about Nie Li's visit last night from Long Shuyun, Long Yuyin's mother. He was impressed by Nie Li's sincerity to unite the sect and regain the power and prestige it once had. Finally he asked. "Do you think he can do it?"
I nodded slowly. "It's possible, if it's him, I believe it's more than possible. So long as he doesn't die before hand he will most definitely succeed and raise the sect to heights never before seen."
My words of praise shocked him but he agreed with my assessment nonetheless. When I sighed telling him. "I'm going to train."
I headed back to my spot and put up the barrier before putting on the weighted training clothes and doing a one finger hand stand. When I started using the law of gravity slowly, I was stopped by Hierarch Skycloud saying. "Your friends are looking for you."
Grunting I put away my things and left in a blur to his amusement. I headed to Li Xingyun's courtyard where I sensed they'd gathered. There we agreed it was time to take the deity lakes from Gu Heng.
I was to separate from them and take as many lakes Gu Heng owned as quickly as I could before meeting up with the main force to attack his main lake, a medium sized deity lake he had recently acquired.
I agreed and the operation began. I slaughtered hundreds of Gu Heng's people as I took the small lakes he had under him. Then I attacked one of the three medium lakes that was the heart of his faction. All by my lonesome I attacked openly, giving them one opportunity to flee before killing those that remained after draining them.
Dozens suicided to avoid being turned into a legend rank once more. They were truly smart and loyal to a point. They'd risked being made weak as a last show of loyalty and committed suicide when they saw I wasn't going to give up. The leftovers were rather weak to begin with as the strongest were only heavenly star realms.
They were all forced to start over for their blind loyalty. When I moved on to the second medium lake, I found it was already crumbling and Nie Li and the rest had already left. I met up with them not far from the last deity lake. Nie Li gave them the option to flee and these people actually did!
I laughed my ass off as Nie Li began extracting the Deity spirit. When Gu Heng arrived with reinforcements, I smirked and met them on the battlefield. I decided a whole sale slaughter was in order so I'd forgo the tethers and fight as my combat dragonwolf form.
They were holding their own as their heavenly axis realm experts wore grade six armor like our heavenly star realms did. When I vanished from the battlefield, killing a hundred heavenly star realms in a bloody wave, Gu Heng saw I was no longer there and bolstered his efforts yelling. "Their main fighter is no more, kill them all!"
Things got bad for the demon league until the reinforcements had arrived. Nie Li got interrupted and had to start all over pulling the deity spirit out once more. Li Yufeng's men arrived as reinforcements for Gu Heng's side as well and it became a bloody battle royal.
As Nie Li barely managed to get the spirit he ordered a retreat and Gu Heng was having none of that when he saw his last deity lake collapse. Li Xingyun ordered his men to follow him and break out along with Gu Bei doing the same for the demon league.
The experts of the heavenly axis realm surrounded Nie Li and when they went to attack I moved in void form to stand beside him as Xiao Yu used a space time teleportation technique to send all three of us to a distant place hundreds of leagues away.
When we appeared there, Xiao Yu had been injured. I watched as Nie Li healed her and found out she was a girl because of a time anomaly when he touched the inscription patterns on her back.
When they finished up finally, a group of demon beasts came by searching for something and they hid. When the demon beasts left, another came as they revealed themselves. I watched in amusement as they greeted each other awkwardly.
