The crew stayed at a combat stance as a small army of half-naked people flew over the clouds in their direction using a weird hoverboard-looking machine. "Shandians! Run!" The Skypieans screamed as they ran for cover.
"What happened here?! Where is Enel?!" The leader of the group, Wyper, demanded. "Calm down. Enel is dead, along with his army. If you had problems with him, they are resolved." Sanji tried to calm down the situation, as the tension rose from both sides.
"Enel is dead?" Wyper was shocked, but he quickly recovered. 'Enel and his army were defeated by these outsiders. If we can get them on our side, we can reclaim our homeland!' Wyper thought.
"Hello, great warriors, my name is Wyper, commander of the Shandians. You have defeated Enel, and done us a great service at that, but Enel was not the only problem. Our ancestors were banished from their land by the Skypieans, with the pretense of it being a holy place. We have fought for generations, yet we have only been oppressed further. We seek your assistance in taking hold of our rightful land." Wyper spoke to the Straw Hats with a sudden change in attitude.
"W-What?! H-How can they kick y-you out like that?!" Chopper exclaimed while he cried his eyes out. "L-Luffy, we n-need to help them!" Usopp also cried as he spoke. "That does sound familiar... But we still need to ask the Skypieans for their side of the story as well." Luffy pondered a little before deciding on their next move.
"They are lying!" an old Skypiean came forward to confront the Shandians. "Then please explain," Law told the man. "Gladly, the land was sent to us by God! It was brought to us as a place of worship! Not a place for filthy savages like them to live it!" The Skypiean said. "WHAT DID YOU SAY? YOU STUPID SON OF A" Wyper almost jumped at the old Skypiean, seemingly forgetting his polite act. Luckily, he was held back by his men.
"So they were there when it first appeared?" Zoro wanted to confirm. "Yes, but they were not meant to be there." The Skypiean repeated. "Seems like an open and shut case for me," Zoro said. "I told you," Wyper said, and he pushed even more. "I can even prove it. There is an ancient city on that island, one that harbors our tribe's past."
"Well then, let's go see it," Luffy said as he used gear third to expand his hand, and then he carried them to the island. "Hm... I can definitely detect something" Katakuri said as they arrived at their destination. "Care to inform us?" Law asked. "There's an ancient city not far from here, judging by all the outdated architecture, and I also found the Poneglyph inside it," Katakuri informed.
"How the hell can you detect a Poneglyph so far away with Observation Haki?" Sanji asked. "Mama has a road Poneglyph, and while I'm not on any duties away from Whole Cake Island, I have to always keep an eye on it. There are countless Devil Fruit that allows the user to sneak or teleport. If the Poneglyph isn't under constants surveillance, it will get stolen and by the time we react, we won't be able to do a thing. As such, I'm very familiar with how Poneglyphs feel when using Observation Haki." Katakuri explained.
"Makes sense" Sanji admitted. "Lead the way," Luffy said to Katakuri.
As the group walked, they encountered more and more ancient structures be it houses, towers, or a seemingly random giant bell in the middle of town. Eventually, the group got to a large sone Step Pyramid covered with vines. There was only a minor difference that bothered them, it was all made out of pure gold.
Nami looked in wonder at all the gold around her. It probably weighed hundreds of thousands of tones, if not millions. "Luffy, we need a base now your an emperor right? Can we make it this?" Nami asked Luffy with stars in her eyes. "Um, let's discuss that later, I think we have a Poneglyph to find now," Luffy dodged the question. He wanted to make Skypiea his base, but he didn't want it to be centered around a golden city. He had a couple of reasons, mostly the fact that living in gold is very uncomfortable, and even he still wanted to keep his reputation as it was, not changing it to one of a money hoarder.
"The Poneglyph is inside," Katakuri informed them, "But I can't figure out why the bell... I want to take a closer look". "I also wonder why it's here, and at such an important place. I suggest we let Robin read the Poneglyph in peace while we explore a bit" Luffy suggested.
"Why make a city out of gold though? It seems so impractical, living in a metal house is a nightmare." Zoro gave his thoughts. "It's not meant for people to live in, Moss Head, it's for show." Sanji retorted.
"Let's settle this later, for now, let's make sure this stupid conflict is resolved while Robin reads the Poneglyph," Luffy said as they headed back to Skypiea.

Hey guys, I finally resolved some really stressful issues, and I've got some free time again. As a result, I'll try to update faster so expect a chapter around every 3 days since I have to write my other fanfic.
