Chapitre 16: Encounter with the locals
As we enter the atmosphere of planet 2 Kwan says over the intercom "Alright we have some turbulence coming in due to a powerful snowstorm that's coming in so I everyone needs to strap in"
"Roger that Kwan is this weather going to cause any problems for the ship"
"Yes it will I won't be able to pick you guys up until the storm stops but don't you worry I'm coming to get you guys no matter what"
"Thanks Kwan" I say as I make sure everyone is strapped into their seats properly and say as I strap myself in "Alright everybody our mission is to make contact with the indigenous people of the planet called the Leli who are know by the Altruins to be friendly if treated courteously and that they respect strength, Now Captain Petrov here is our Arctic expert and he's going to give everyone some rules to follow so if you don't want to die listen well to what he says"
"Thank you Sir , Now as you all know the planet we are going to going to be a very hostile environment so I will take point while the droids follow at immediately behind me, in the middle of the group, and the rear so we can distribute the firepower evenly across the group now are there any questions"
Mason raises his hand and asks " Sir what kind of weapons are we going to be carrying besides the SAWs the droids have"
"I will be carrying my Mosin Nagant" Sergei says while picking up a gleaming Mosin Nagant wrapped in cloth with a modern sniper scope mounted and says "her name is Vera and meanwhile you troopers will carry M4s modified for arctic conditions while Sgt Coleman will be armed with a M41A pulse rifle and the Pathfinder will carry a M41AE2 pulse rifle which is the saw configuration of the M41A and everyone will have flares and several days worth of food and water"
After Sergei finishes talking Kwan tells us to get ready on the radio after which we shut up and get ready
As we land and exit we follow Sergei towards magnetic North and the first thing we see is some kind of large mammals following us so I say over the radio "Eyes up weapons at the ready we're being hunted" and as I say that I see Sergei aiming his rifle towards the creatures following us and I ask "do you have a shot"
He answers " yes sir do you want to take one down" but right as I start to answer him at least a dozen large humanoid shapes wrapped up in fur rise up out of the snow and aim some kind of firearms at us making Sergei aim towards them and ask "Sir are they friend or foe"
"I don't think they're enemies because if they wanted us dead they would've killed us already so everyone holster your weapons" and as we put our weapons away the largest of the locals walks up to me and punches me in the face knocking me down so I swing a kick into his knee stumbling him and then he throws a wild hook for me but I duck it then I punch him in the face hook my hands behind his head and knee him three times in the chest driving the air from him and knocking him to the ground and then I pull my Yaujta dagger out and press it to his neck at which he stops struggling and let's me help him to his feet
After helping him to his feet he says in a similar dialect to the Altruins "Hahahaha well met human you are as fierce as we've been told now if you'd follow us we can introduce you to our leader and have something to eat" and then they lead us to a hidden cave which has a staircase carved inside leading to something underground
