I was on the construction site. I had been ordered to supervise everything, to take certain measures, and to take precautions. I a security guard on the site, first I did not know why all these things but fortunately I obeyed the orders.
We were all working when I heard a cry of horror. I saw that a worker was falling from the fifth floor. At first surprised and then I quickly reacted. I started to run and howl. The others who were there with me help me and we have time to push on two mattresses which were not too far from being in the place where the guy is supposed to fall. But despite that, nothing was guaranteed.
The horrified exclamation attracted people's sights. However, before they could realize what had happened, they heard a loud sound from the body hitting the mattresses heavily.
Now, everyone was stunned by the scene. I arrived, just as the worker fell down.
Seconds later, people around them finally realized that an accident had happened, and everyone gathered around.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
"Exactly! What are you doing?
People questioned me continuously, but I immediately snapped at them,
"Shut your mouths, and call the ambulance right now!"
Hearing that, someone immediately took out his phone, calling the ambulance.
The construction worker's ribs were broken, his internal organ where a little damage, and his right leg was broken too. He would be dead in a normal situation, but the mattresses take most of the shock. If anyone died at the construction site and the news went viral, the reputation of the company would be affected.
When the ambulance arrive, they first made an examination. They say that the guy is truly lucky. The injuries are not so grave, but he will need an operation. They give him some painkillers. Before we arrive at the hospital, he was already awake. But because of the painkillers he take, he can tolerate pain.
But I can see that something is weird. The construction worker was surprised to find out that he was still alive after he woke up, and there was a touch of disappointment and unwillingness that flashed through his eyes.
He's disappointed and unwilling to be alive? I noticed his unusual reactions, when I went to see him. Apparently, it wasn't an accident, but more like a scheme. The question was why?
I didn't have time to think about that right now, and I called Hotch without delay.
"Carl, what's up?"
Hotch asked like usual. He obviously had no idea about what had just happened at the construction site. That thing still give me some fright.
"Manager Hotch, an accident happened at our construction site. A worker fell from a high level, and he's injured. Come over right now,"
I said.
"What? Sure, I'll be right there,"
Hotch stood up from his chair in shock. He didn't have time to ask how Carl found out about it, and told his secretary to arrange a car and to inform the construction director.
