Chapitre 28: 9.4

"Appa, Appa, Appa,"

The children cried inside his embraces, Taehyung widened his eyes when he heard cracking sound when the bad people kicked and punched his father. Seokjin hugged them, bringing them closer and closed their ears; his hands trembled just like his shoulders.

It was hard to keep a straight face when he felt the unbearable pain from the beatings, the bad people seemed to be possessed because they hit him again and again without feeling any exhaustion. They did stop for a while but then Seokjin felt a stinging pain when one of the men burnt him with his cigarette.

"No! Stop!" Jungkook screamed, shouting against his father's chest because the older man refused to let the little bunny moved or turned around and see a glimpse of the bad people hitting him, the jolts from Seokjin was enough to tell them what happened outside the warm wings that engulfing them.

"Appa, Appa, please run without us," Taehyung sobbed, holding one of Seokjin's hand that covered his right ear while the other hand of the adult was covering Jungkook's left ear. Those warm hands didn't prevent the ugly sound of people laughing from the children, they heard it as clear as the day.

The mocking and the laughter, the voices they loathed the most; also the cries that escaped his father's mouth every time someone hit them. Seokjin could hold most of it until he felt a big hand grabbed his one of his wing's edge and SNAP!

He screamed from the top of his lung when one of the men twisted his wing, he couldn't stop his tears from pouring and dripping from his chin. He saw how Taehyung and Jungkook stopped crying and stared at him with wide horrified eyes with mouth slightly parted but he just couldn't stop screaming and screaming while hugging both of the children.

'Don't look, don't hear,' he wanted to say that but he found no coherent words come out from his mouth, the tortures didn't stop there.

The children felt how fast, how hard his heartbeat, how the adrenaline and the fear rushed under his skin, inside his veins and how warm his blood from the fresh bruises. Jungkook and Taehyung's hybrid ears caught all of it, the heartbeats, the ragged breath, the bunny and tiger's ears were as sharp as ever.

"I-It's gonna be o-kay," Seokjin found his voice once again, cracking at every edge and hoarse after a series of screaming, "I will never let them hurt both of you, I promise," Taehyung trembled once again when the little tiger watched how his father tried to smile with teary eyes and blood on the corner of his lips.

"Just wait," Seokjin took a long breath, hissing but it seemed the bad guys were taking a short break from the revenge party, "until then, just look at me, don't look beyond my wings. Just look at me Oongu-ah, Taetae. Breathe," Jungkook buried his face to Seokjin's chest, still crying and oddly; Seokjin worried about the little bunny's puffy eyes more than his twisted wings that stubbornly covering them even after those bad guys snapped it.

Seokjin squeezed shut his eyes, yelping, "hold my hand," he said between his grunts, "both of you are going to be fine."

"Jin," the hybrid flinched when he heard one of them called him, he lowered the wings a little bit; just enough for him to see who just called him but still too high for the bad guy to see his children.

Seokjin's wings were unmistakably pretty, the colour of rare blue, the type of arts to be appreciated. Such a waste, they should say, the feathers were the shade of blue you loved but yet some of them were in poor condition after the fire incident.

"I heard you used to have the strongest wings, the pretties, also the biggest," the man who Seokjin recognized as the same man that approached him in the flower shop continued, he also remembered that one was the one who started this revenge game; the source of everything.

Seokjin growled, snarling with the anger that burned inside his chest and so ready to explode, this man caused traumatic experiences for his children and he wasn't sure Taehyung or Jungkook could heal from this or not.

"I also heard," the man got up, walking near them with a bottle of shiny liquid under the light and a lighter, Seokjin froze, hands clenched into fists when the man smirked to him, "you have a bad experience with fire."

Seokjin jolted, he suddenly unwrapped his wings from himself and the children, "No!" he shouted, "don't," he whispered but loud enough for the villain to hear, "at least let my children go!" he got up with wobbly feet.

Both Taehyung and Jungkook got up too, hugging his thigh immediately. They whimpered in confusion, looking up to see Seokjin's tall yet shaking figure.

The man cooed, "sure," he smiled, "beg or I will burn all of you together."

Seokjin's breath hitched when he heard the last line, he looked down to his sons and his heart sank when both of the small hybrids shook their heads. They clearly against the idea of him begging to the villains but he didn't have any choice, half of his mind was cursing and praying to the god.

The hybrid moved, pulling the children to stand behind him; hiding the little bunny and tiger behind his huge wings that touched the floor when he wasn't flexing them.

"Kneel"

Seokjin kneeled, his knees scraped because of the hard ground.

"Bow until your head touched the floor"

He bowed until his head touched the floor.

"Beg"

He begged.

"Who are they?" the bad guy scoffed, he stayed still when the man approached him and stepped on his head, or when the man pulled him up a little with his hair and slammed his head back to the ground again until his forehead bled; the blood dripped from his sharp jaw.

Seokjin looked up, eyed straight with no hint of fear for the bad guys, "my sons," he spat. The bad guy clenched his jaw, blunt nails digging to the hybrid's jaw with iron grip.

"What are you?" the bad guy frowned, gritting his teeth with a confusion because how Seokjin looked so strong and tall even when the hybrid was kneeling before him.

He didn't move when the man stomped on his hand or scream when the alcohol being poured to his wounds on his shoulders and back, only his ragged breaths could be heard.

The hybrid still looked solid, wings twitched with its edges touching the floor. Hands clenched and unclenched, eyes showing his killing intent and his murderous aura, even the bad guy felt a shiver ran down his spine when their eyes met.

"I'm a father."

The man stepped back as soon the fear started to attack him, he was here to crush Seokjin not to be afraid of him! So he kicked the poor hybrid right on his jaw until the hybrid fell to his back. The bad guy gestured one of his men to come closer, they came with bottles of fuel; Seokjin thought what a bad ending for him.

"Think me as a good man," the bad guy squatted before him, pulling his hair so Seokjin ended up face to face with him, "at least I ordered my men to cover your children's eyes when I burn you alive and help your family to get rid of you."

Seokjin didn't answer but he felt a little lighter when he heard that his children won't be seeing him died like this, he closed his eyes and he felt all of his energy flew away when the bad people drenched him with the fuel.

"Any last word?"
