Chapitre 22: Draft
When I opened my eyes I saw a wooden ceiling. Where am I? Last thing I remember was collapsing after fighting Snarf.
"Oh, you are awake."
I heard a prim female voice address me from the side. I looked over to see a woman a young woman looking at me from a chair, she looked to be in her 20s. She was dressed in what seemed like a black suit but without the blazer. Instead of a tie she had what looked like green bola on her neck.
She wasn't a transcendent beauty, but was more like the girl next door I had a crush on. Her short chestnut hair and brown eyes gave her a very innocent feel.
"How do you feel?"
"T-t-t-ir...ed."
"Well that is expected. You seemed to have exhausted all of your mana when fighting the Draft. It seems to have even affected your speech temporarily."
Let's go with that, she can interpret my poor communication skills with mana exhaustion. Wait, did she say Draft? Is that what this world calls the Snarf looking thing?
"D-draft?"
"Do you not know of it? Perhaps that is why you were brave enough to fight it with so few people? Draft is what most people call it. It is short for Dragon Rat and Forest Tiger."
That naming sounds... quite lazy. It seems my face exposed some of my thoughts on the naming as she continued.
"It is named so because the person who found it could not think of anything else to name it. The creature is extremely rare and its origins are quite... unique."
"Un-unique?"
When I inquired she seemed hesitant to answer. It seemed she was deciding whether to tell me or not. Is it a national secret or is it some dark ritual that should never see the light of day?
"I-is it a se-secret?"
"No...it is nothing so important as being a secret...it's just. Hmmm. Alright, well you've heard of Dragons right?"
I nodded my head.
"Besides hoarding riches they have other vices. Have you heard about how promiscuous they?"
I shook my head. I was starting to get a bad feeling about asking about this.
"Did you know that Dragons can change size and form? Many Dragons transform into humans and have relations with us. This is how the Lizardmen came about. Some Dragons .... have a much larger appetite for cross species fornication."
"......"
So the mythical and noble Dragons I have heard about in stories...in this world...they bang rats.
"Some fornicate with rats and thus a Rat Dragon is born. Again about the naming...no one really had the energy to try and think of anything better to describe such... a unique existence."
"A-and the F-f-orest Tiger?"
"The Rat Dragon seems to have inherited the Dragon's promiscuity and aggression. They especially seem to have a fondness for felines. Perhaps this is due to rats being hunted by them normally. The Forest Tiger does not normally do cross species fornication. Unfortunately for it the Rat Dragon is quite formidable and well...I think you get the gist. Thus the union creates the rare and powerful Draft."
"......I am sorry I asked."
"Most people are."
It seems I was so disillusioned I didn't even stutter. Dragons banging rats and then that offspring rapes cats... what is wrong with this world?
