Chapitre 7: Day 3.5.

I had gotten about 2 pounds of meat from my lizard and I was eyeing the other lizard. I didn't eat all the meat at once as I'd save some for lunch and dinner which I cooked up.

However that other lizard was going to be smoked lizard. I had learned I could control my farm flame mentally. If I wanted a roaring fire I got a roaring fire if I wanted a smoldering flame that's what I got.

A quick stab to the head and the other lizard was dispatched easily I did a little better skinning and gutting the thing and I made sure to bleed it into the bucket. This was all going to be some great bait later.

I carefully put the skinned and cleaned lizard on the smoking rack and set the fire to slowly smoke it all day I'll have myself some nice smoked lizard tomorrow or something.

Today however I had a mission that was very important. We needed to find water. I was dying for some fresh water. Not gunna lie I hate coconut. But I choke it down cause it's all I got. I've had a little bit of vine water to drink and that's it for fresh water.

After the lizard is smoking on my little stick smoking rack I pop out of the farm and quickly head towards the ocean. Right now it's early morning so it's nice and cool. I quickly wash all the blood off of me from cleaning up the lizards as going around an area filled with predators covered in blood is a quick way to get attacked.

I just climb right in and let the cool water wash over me and scrub myself down really fast and get out. I don't know what kind of creatures are in the water but it's probably more dangerous than the jungle.

Cold water on the sunburn feels great though I'll see if I can make a tub later on to put water in for cleaning and relaxing.

After the clean up I start making my way down the beach with my new sandals helping a great deal. I only stop to pick up coconuts and dodge the big lizards.

Now what I'm looking for is a kind of crack in the sand leading down from the jungle to the water and darker sand usually mixed with dirt. This is usually a stream coming from the forest which means fresh water.

So I quickly make my way down the beach. On the way I gather an absolute ton of coconuts. I mean I may hate it but hey it's food and drinking liquid I don't have to hunt.

After about three hours of walking with the sun I was kind of just walking in a daze at this point from boredom. When suddenly I stepped in some wet sand and I felt it on my toes. I look down and see darker sand than anywhere else and a little trail cut through the sand.

I quickly make my way towards the woods and sure enough it's all wet. This is great news this means water.

I grab my little bark shovel and start digging a little hole. Soon enough the little hole starts to fill with dirty water. I don't even care I scoop up a handful and sip it before spitting it out to make sure it's not salty. It's fresh water.

Ecstatic I dig deeper it fills up with dirty water and I scoop it out with one of my empty buckets and throw it away. I keep doing this until I've got some nice clear water. I fill up my bucket and pop into my little farm world.

Now there are some people who say it's okay to drink from rivers like this and there are some people who say it's not okay as it may contain parasites or contagions. I'm in an actual survival situation I need to be extremely vigilant.

Now the best way to be sure there's no nasties in the water would be to boil the water. I've got a wooden bucket. I'm not putting it over fire. Now I've seen some people boil water in wooden bowls for things like stews. What they did was they would put rocks over a fire and superheat them and then drop them into water the hot rocks would boil the water and kill all the Nasties and make it safe to drink.

I'm going to test it out. I have a couple rocks sitting around so I toss them on my little fire to heat up. After about 30 or so minutes I use a pair of sticks I tied together as some rings and toss the hot rocks into my bucket. Sure enough there's bubbling and steam and the water starts to boil after a couple of rocks are dropped in. Now I have good fresh boiled water.

Having fresh water opens up something else I was excited about. Cement. I had watched a video where people put some shells in a fire and soon they would turn white and when dropped into water they would breakdown into a kind of paste and when mixed with sand you've got yourself some primitive cement. I don't know if I'm right but if I can get some cement I've got quite a few ideas going on in my head.

I open up my crafting menu and search for more buckets and a tub. They aren't that expensive to make so I craft up a few. I'll test it out in a little bit and see if it works but for now I'm going to wait for my water to cool and eat some lizard meat for lunch and maybe take a nap. I also need to gather up some more materials and scout out the area later. I want to build another net and a rope. I'll explain what for after my nap.
