Dean's office,
Dean Alfin peered at Gin as if striving to look into the depts of his soul. "Y-you won 50 matches with just one loss?"
"Yes," Gin answered, while the Dean's peering gaze made him uncomfortable.
Alfin didn't believe Gin as he knows how hard it's for one to achieve 50 victories in battle born arena. But, the fact Gin standing before him implies he speaks the truth.
"How many hidden physique seals have you uncovered?"
"Six!"
Alfin was surprised but it didn't shock him as much as the previous statement.
A good Physique cultivator needs vigorous training but their strength also improves greatly in battles. So, Alfin sent Gin with such hope. Gin too didn't disappoint him.
"Good! If you open another two or three hidden seals before the 'contest of gifted ones' your odds of getting accepted by top academies in core regions may increase."
"Is it that difficult to enter the top academies of the core regions?" Gin asked.
"What do you know?! In every contest, more than 10 million peoples participate but only 10,000 or so get accepted."
"The youngsters who would participate in that contest are all geniuses who hail from all over the continent."
"Most of them would be at peak Physique Enrichment stage, you may even face some monstrous geniuses who reached the Seal opening stage."
"Some geniuses are capable of defeating Seal opening stage practitioners while being in the Physique Enrichment stage. I know you can battle peoples who are above your level, but you are not the only one." Dean Alfin's words shocked Gin a little.
"So, don't think you are better just because you are a physique cultivator and have an advantage over others."
"Don't worry Dean, I am not the kind of person who thinks, I am above all." Gin chuckled, discerning Dean Alfin's hidden meaning.
"I know, but it's my responsibility to warn my student. Did you meet the other students in the academy?"
"Yes,"
"Good! They are all good students if you need any help, don't hesitate to ask them. Use your time wisely!" Dean Alfin stated.
"Dean, I want some materials for making potions, where can I get them? Gin asked.
"You know how to make potions?"
"A little,"
"Why the sudden interest?" Dean Alfin asked with his brows raised. "Don't indulge too much in Alchemy, it may affect your martial path."
Gin didn't know how to answer the Dean. As every bit of his knowledge regarding the Alchemy comes from the books he got in magical space.
Noticing Gin's silence, Alfin sighed and spoke, "I hope you knew what you're doing so that you don't regret later."
"Tell me the materials and herbs you need."
Gin happily listed every herbs and material, but he failed to notice Dean Alfin's grimace when his list reached over 30.
"You need these many items to make a single potion?" Dean Alfin glared. He was sure now, that Gin is playing with him.
"Yes," Gin hesitantly replied, noticing the later's glare.
Suppressing the urge to beat Gin, Dean Alfin asked, "I will provide all the materials and herbs you need, you don't even have to pay for it. But, you have to agree with one of my condition."
"Tell me about the condition, Dean" Gin was glad that he doesn't have to spend his money.
"My condition is very simple. I will give you ten days, but within that timeframe you have to create a good potion, if not, you have to stop your nonsense of creating potions."
"If you agree to my condition..." before Alfin could finish his words, Gin agreed to his conditions.
"Get out of here now, I will send all the things you need to your room, tomorrow"
"Thanks, Dean" Gin swiftly left the office as he could tell Dean is unhappy with his intention of creating potions.
Alfin was already tired of Meylin, who's always crazy about creating potions. Now, even Gin wants to do it.
What Alfin finds more ridiculous is, the number of herbs and materials Gin needs for making a simple potion. As he knows even beginner level potion masters only need 15 to 20 materials to make an authentic potion.
'Whatever, after 10 days I hope he stops this nonsense." Alfin sighed. Thankfully, most of the things Gin asked are common items.

Next day,
A fist filled with raw power drove past Drez's head. "Oh, good physical strength!" Drez commented.
Gin gasped, both of them were sparing for half an hour but he wasn't able to land a single strike.
Even though Drez limited his strength to Gin's level, he was like a snake, agile, slippery and fast.
His reaction, skills, and movements were all far better than Gin. Especially, his weird movement skill which possibly has reached the level of 'Eminence'.
Only now he understood, Baste was clearly going easy on him when they first fought.
"His strength is good; if I am the one fighting Gin, I would be in trouble," Nixa commented.
"Yes, Drez is clearly bullying Gin with his superior movement; if not for that, Gin would surely pulverize him," Meylin said.
Both of them were watching the spar from the start so they could discern Gin's strength has already reached the peak Physique Enrichment stage.
Shortly, Gin and Drez concluded their spar. Drez gave him some pointers about his movement skills and how to improve them.
"Gin, don't feel bad that you weren't able to land a hit on Drez. Speed is his specialty, even someone who's level above him can't do anything." Nixa explained.
Gin wasn't bothered about it, because once he discovers another three hidden seals his strength will soar to a whole new level. At that time, the result would be different.
So, his primary concern is to increase his strength and uncover the succeeding hidden seals in his body.
--
Gin can't be said as a person of enormous wealth but he has good capital; 25,000 Ranker credits he gained from his first ranker mission, 1000 Elemental stones gained from combat arena, and 1,00,000 something normal credits.
With the amount of money, he can do many things. Gin's plan on making potions is to increase his wealth which is the most efficient and fastest way.
As promised, Dean Alfin sent him the herbs and materials he needed for making a potion.
The potion he's going to refine is called 'Physique Strengthing' potion, which is the most basic type of potion mentioned in the 'Alchemy Basics' book.
There are various types of Alchemy potions available in the world like Bone strengthening potion, Muscle strengthening potion, Beast blood potion, etc.
The liquid he received from Meylin when they first met is called Beast blood potion which is made from the source blood of various Advanced class wild beasts.
To make Physique Strengthing potion, he needs all the materials he listed to Dean but most important of them is the beast core of magical beast.
While some Rank-1 herbs such as Fox vine, honeyfin, Silver-moon shoot are also equally important. Meaning, these ingredients are irreplaceable.
He knows beast cores are expensive, a single beast core would fetch for 10,000 Ranker credits or 100 elemental stones.
But he wasn't sure about the price of herbs. As he doesn't know how the peoples in the world differentiate a herb ranks, and also how they are ranked.
But, Empyrean Chaos differentiate a herb ranks by their medicinal characteristics, benefits, and how old they are.
A herb can be ten-years-old but it doesn't mean it's a Rank-1 if they have rich medicinal properties.
At the same time, a 1000-year-old herb in other people's eyes may be a random weed with no uses.
So, you can't differentiate a herb rank just based on years, one has to look into their characteristics and medicinal values too.
Bringing the equipment needed to his room, Gin was all set in making his first potion.
The 'Alchemy basics' book detailed every step and method he has to follow, which made it easy for Gin.
The first step is the crucial one, drawing a simple inscription symbol on the surface of the cauldron.
It's a very simple inscription called 'Imprison' which helps in holding the energy or medical extract from escaping the cauldron.
Even though it may seem simple, one can only draw the symbol using their soul energy which Gin has no experience in.
He knows if he successfully completes this step, the subsequent ones won't be a problem for him.
