Yufang wishing for nothing more but to return to the depths of slumber, he called upon that word of old, "Devour."
Within Yufang this void had begun to spin from the very appearance of this shadowy figure, the void it was angered, hungered, and it was distressed for this mere shadow had escaped its grasp, this void even without being summoned, even without Yufang performing the necessary precautions it moved regardless, it summoned itself once more, looking over its prey with a large grin it moved.
This voids very appearance sent the shadow into a frenzied state, he was scared. Scared this shadowy figure screamed out, "No! How could it be? Back then you could barely even kill a tier-one beast how did you gain such strength? How did you summon the void?"
Scoffing Yufang spoke, "You fool. Do you have no eyes? Look before you... Ahh, what a failure you are, did you truly never realize this void is alive? I did not will its arrival, I merely assisted its summoning, I merely allowed it to come into the world of the living. Even without me, this crazed void would have found a way regardless even if it meant killing me and thus itself."
The void released, Yufang's work was now done, what happened from then on was no longer his responsibility, uncaring of the voids matters he closed his eyes drifting off to sleep.
* * * * * * * * * * * *
A boy suddenly appears within a dark room, before him an aged man. Speaking this boy says, "I believe you owe me something?"
Replying, this aged man spoke with a voice of difference, "Yes, it seems I do. However, I also do not owe you anything."
This boy's face darkening, he speaks, "Old man, don't act foolishly just give me what is rightfully mine."
This aged man taking a deep breath as if to prepare for a large speech but then empties his lings sighing before replying, "I can not give you what I do not have, for what you seek is already in your possession."
This boy now clearly angered speaks, "Old man stop with the wordplay just answer me clearly."
Chuckling lightly this aged man speaks once more, "Young one, my words are simple can you truly not decipher them?"
Laughing this boy's face grew black, as he remembers back and says, "That wooden badge..."
This boy, having finally realized the answer before him, the aged man chuckles lightly before pushing the boy and directing him to the exit.
Pushing out of this room this boy reaches into his sleeve pocket, and within he pulls out an ancient wooden badge, this badge reading, "No. 1." Smiling, he walks off and from a distance, a figure follows.
Traversing tens of plains, hundreds of rivers, and thousands of oceans he had reached it, the entrance. The entrance to the sect of Eternals, that pagoda.
A city of immortals, a world of beauty separate from all else, the sect of Eternals, Yufang had returned.
Walking up to the gate, Yufang went to enter, however before the gate, a group of young men stood blocking the entrance, these men outer disciples from the sect chosen to direct all disciples and blocks those who were not.
Noticing Yufang's apparent attempt to enter without identification these guards stood in his way, blocking his path.
Upon this Yufang let out a slight smile, as his eyes began to narrow and he sent out a horrific glare.
Not paying attention to such, these guards stood tall never moving. To protect the gate against foes even at the cost of their lives, this was their role.
These disciples new, to the sect, although standing tall, and although trying not to pay attention to Yufang's threats they were scared. Frightened they shook side to side and terrified of death they felt like vomiting. However, regardless they stood tall, for this was their pride, this was their pride as a disciple of the Sect of Eternals.
Although scared Yufang's glare gave the guards an identification, this man before them was a foe, moving forward with their weapons in hand these guards moved, preparing to strike first.
The guards moving in, Yufang smiled lightly, as he tossed a small wooden badge and said, "Inner disciple Kong Yufang returning."
Suddenly catching the badge, their faces grew white confirming his identity, as they quickly moved to the side. In the sect of Eternals, respect was everything, for them mere outer disciples to block an inner disciple they'd only be limiting their own future, they'd be courting death.
They remembered they had remembered it now, this boy before them, he was that new student that placed first in the entrance exam and directly became an inner disciple.
He was the one that obliterated the ancestor's strength measurement device, this boy was that oddity, he was that one in a million genius. Some of the disciples had even begun starting rumors about how Yufang was the direct inheritor of the Illustrious Ancient Demon.
Merely, outer disciples, they could not stop him, returning the badge they moved aside allowing his entrance.
Entering Yufang mutters, "My story begins now." Upon his face, a light smile sat, he moved forth and towards the market he went.
Behind him, in a flash, an old man moved past the guards.
Following this old man from his sheer speed a great wind that shook the entire sect, multiple disciples near fell down, and the guard's faces grew white beginning to shiver incessantly as they all looked to each other and screamed, "An eternal has returned!"
Having now entered, he an inner disciple could move as he pleased through the sect, however, there where still things he needed, although having won that elders bet and rightfully gaining an inner disciples seat Yufang did not go threw procedure. As dictated by the sect each inner disciple has the right to chose an elder as a master, and from this master, they shall receive their tutorage.
However, to Yufang an unknown individual that had just recently risen in fame, after all his fame was unproven finding such a master willing to take him in was tough.
About this matter Yufang did not bother thinking about and look for the interest he did, going to the markets to explore.
Checking out the markets, many of the shopkeepers looked at Yufang strangely. Many of these shopkeepers were not human, but a species that's life greatly overtook humans allowing them to live for over tens of eras. Each of them their strength great, but before Yufang they acted like children looking to their father.
However, it was not Yufang that attracted their attention but the clothes he wore. Before Yufang had entered the sect Yong Sheng had given him an inner disciples gown. This gown was a symbol of prestige, it was a symbol of wealth, and most importantly this certain gown had a secret. In the past back when Yong Sheng ruled the world such gowns where seen as normal from the sect of Eternal.
This gown embodied brilliance, anyone with eyes could see, this boy was no ordinary individual and so around Yufang, they acted with care not daring to aggravate this great man before them, but to the shopkeepers their reaction was different.
Walking stall to stall Yufang stood tall, a king among the trash. His head always held higher than all else, he clearly insulted all those around him.
Looking to the sky Yufang muttered "Tsk, there is no wind." And looking around, Yufang grew bored of these markets that only contained simple and overpriced resources. Looking around Yufang fought a glimpse of a crowd moving with haste.
The markets boring Yufang had walked for hours however now no longer in the markets, Yufang following a crowd of disciples now stood before a grand arena.
In the markets he had heard of it, he heard a certain gossip from those passing. However, this gossip it all remained the same about a certain 2, Gong Yu and Zhang Yong. This arena, he had understood now, it was a duel.
Entering the arena Yufang with many others sat before a luxurious stage and upon this stage, 2 young men stood opposite each other both of them carrying a certain light of brilliance, Yufang smiled lightly and muttered, "Perhaps this is it."
Asking around Yufang had come to understand just who was who, the young man a handsome man with a bright face and sword shape eyebrows that wore an exquisite light blue robe, was the grand prince of the Gong family, Gong Yu. On the other hand, the young man with crystal clear skin, a delicate physique, luscious long hair, and lustrous eyes was the prince of Zhang, Zhang Yong.
Coughing Yufang thought to himself, "A divine fairy, no. No, a demon, he's a demon."
Gong Yu and Zhang Yong both inner disciples stood upon the stage here today, to fight over a place in the preliminary ranking of the sect of Eternal. A ranking desired by all inner disciples, for just being any random number on this would bring not only you but your family great fortune.
Both Gong Yu and Zhang Yong although princes their kingdoms reside around farming and not warfare, their power weak for them to just going this list it would give them the power necessary to grow it would allow them to go from a small farming kingdom to an empire. It would allow them to grow, it would allow them to absorb the nations nearby relying on the sects coattails.
The crowd having arrived an elder stood up taking a seat beside the stage, speaking to the princes he said, "Do remember the rules, it doesn't matter what hate you have outside of the arena, for inside this arena killing is not permitted under any circumstances and any failure to comply will be met with the eradication of all 14 generations." Looking around the elder confirmed the contestants agreed.
Nodding lightly the elder continued, "The battle between the prince of Zhang and the prince of Gong over the final entrance seat for the sects ranking shall now commence."
The fight beginning they both moved faster than light, rushing towards each other sending out thousands and thousands of moves.
Thinking to himself Yufang thought, "Yes I was indeed correct."
A smile rising, however, his eyes they were not on the stage, but they looked to the roof of this enclosed arena. For there from the sheer endeavor of this fight, his kite flew gracefully, much like a dragon flying the sea. Although unwilling to purchase any herbs or elixirs from the stalls Yufang did, in fact, purchase a kite, to live a life of self-indulgence, this was his path.
Concentrating on his kite Yufang smiled beautifully. But amidst his happiness, a feminine voice screamed out, "Heavenly Devouring Palm."
This move attracted him it overtook his obsession for wind, it took over his obsession to see his kite-flying gracefully within the sky, now paying full attention to the stage Yufang watched as Zhang Yong glided across the sky carrying, a certain corrupt energy in his palm.
Immense, its power-split space causing ripples, before sheer power the crowd shivered.
However looking at this palm that shook the entire arena Yufang scoffed and muttered, "Childsplay. Not even comparable to his early days back when he was merely a 4-year-old child."
Despite what Yufang had said, this one move had destroyed half the arena and sent Gong Yu into a critical state. The move was indeed strong and not half-assed as Yufang implied.
Muttering once more, with a smile Yufang said, "Perhaps a few of those old demons survived after all. It seems this world is, in fact, the ruins of a superior generation."
Uninterested Yufang moved back to fly his kite, but it had fallen, a look of sadness crossed his face as the fight was no longer and so the wind would be no more, sad hanging his head low he walked off wishing to exit the arena for there was nothing more for him here.
However just as he was leaving, an angered yet enticing voice rang out, "To dare disrespect me, just who exactly are you?"
Replying Yufang said with a glistening smile, "Little boy with a voice like honey, this great father is Kong Yufang."
Scoffing Zhang Yong said, "So you're the measly ant that dared to call himself the Ancient Demons disciple? Truly those without eyes are foolish."
However what she said it was truly unacceptable, to dare call Yufang an Ant, to dare call Yufang some random demons disciple, truly it was laughable, hearing this Yufang was unable to cope with such idiocy and instead bust into hysterics, "HAHA-HA-HA-HA."
Zhang Yong's eyes widening at Yufang's sudden laughter. A smile as enchanting as the rising sun Zhang Yongs. And in the instant the sun rose, Zhang Yong strikes out and Yufang incapable of movement whilst laughing was sent flying tens of meters before crashing into the stadium wall.
Flying tens of meters, Yufang with the mere body of a mortal could not deal with such force, he had broken 14 ribs, ripped his cerebral cortex, and punctured his left kidney, coughing blood Yufang laid in a pool of his own blood.
Yufang suddenly attacked the crowed sucked in a mouthful of air, "~SSSSSSSSSssssssssssss."
Moving over to Yufang and standing over him, Zhang Yong said, "Hand over the badge."
This badge, strange, an oddity among Eternals, in this sect the wooden badge with the number 1 nameplate is given only to the future sect leader, this badge special, however. Any member of the sect can compete for it without the holder's opinion. The holders of this badge all destined to become the enemy of all their peers, although Yufang unknowing the sect, of course, knew such a thing.
As Yufang carried it, now this meant to rise he would have to destroy this whole sect and create it from the ground.
The part of his brain largely associated with reason and bodily function, Yufang acted without reason, before someone stronger than him, in a pile of his own blood, with blood rushing out from all orifices, and his eyes bloodshot in a voice ever so calm it created a sense of fear, he said, "Take it back."
Regardless, Zhang Yong standing over Yufang smiled not giving in to Yufang's threats, crazed this man replies, "Ant."
Merely a reclusive Ant. Nothing more, nothing less.
Those that dare berate this Ant shall perish.
