Taking 3,000 barbarians from the ten thousand man army. Yol was already preparing to launch his attack. Behind them, some barbarians were carrying tall ladders that would be used to climb the high city walls. He also prepared a battering ram to break open the city gates.
"Forward!" Yol commanded loudly. The barbarians listen to him and move forward brandishing their weapons.
They all carry different types of weapons. Swords, spears, and axes, were the weapon of choice of the barbarians. Wearing leather armor, they march forward.
Watching as the barbarians walk closer to the city. The soldier standing at the city walls started to breathe heavily. Commander Allan noticed this and said, "Relax yourselves and manage your breathing. These barbarians won't be able to make a single step into our city!"
When the barbarians were 300 meters away from the city wall. Yol suddenly yells loudly, "Kill!"
"Kill!"
The barbarians all shouted loudly and their voice reverberated in the sky. Because the area of two kilometers around the city was cleared, the barbarians all run freely without any obstruction to them.
Lori nodded his head towards Commander Allan giving the signal.
Commander Allan knew its meaning and shouted to the archers in the wall, "Aim!"
The soldiers raise their bows and aim towards the incoming barbarians. When the barbarians reached a certain distance between them and the city walls. Commander Allan ordered the release of the arrows.
"Release!"
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
Hundreds of arrows came flying towards the barbarians. But the barbarians wearing leather armors didn't even have a single fear in their eyes. All of them bravely charges forward even with some of them were hit and killed by the arrows.
After the first release, the second lines of archers step forward and release their arrows.
"Aaah!
" Argh!"
The barbarians were killed or injured by the arrows. This continues for several more times and the loss of the barbarians was getting higher.
While the arrows continue to whistle in the air. Some of the barbarians already reached the city walls. After that, those who were carrying ladders immediately position the ladders to climb.
"Shoot the ones carrying the ladders!" Commander Allan shouted and the archers all aim towards those who were carrying the ladders.
Lori watched the whole scene with an amused expression on his face. Although he could stop the barbarians from getting near the city walls, he didn't do anything. Because he wanted to see what kind of leader Commander Allan is.
"Bring it here!" Commander Allan ordered the soldiers behind him and the soldier runs away. Seconds later, a large black pot was being lifted at the top of the city gate.
"Pour it to them!"
The soldiers carrying the black pot pours down its contents to the battering ram that already arrived at the city gate. Even with the archers killing hundreds of barbarians. They are still not enough as there are too many enemies.
"Aaaaa!"
The barbarians pushing the battering ram cries in pain as he was covered in black hot liquid. It was the boiling black oil that was inside the black pot.
"Give it to me" Commander Allan take a bow and arrow from a soldier. The tip of the arrow was burning as he aims towards the battering ram below.
Swoosh!
When the burning arrow hit the battering ram, it immediately exploded in fire. After that, the soldiers from the city walls all poured black oil below to burn the barbarians alive.
"Damn people!" Yol gritted his teeth as he watches his men burn to death. At this moment, his 3,000 men have already lost over a thousand people. He knew that if this continues, all of the remaining barbarians would be killed.
Riding on his horse, Yol took out a small stone the same size of his fist from his pocket. The stone looks rather ordinary, but he knew that this stone contains a very destructive power.
He kicked his horse and shout, "Make way!"
The barbarians quickly disperse and let his horse runs towards the city gate.
Commander Allan narrowed his eyes as he noticed Yol running towards the city gate. He cocked another arrow from his bow and shoot toward Yol.
Ting!
Using his Tomahawk, Yol deflected the arrows that were aimed towards him. When he was about twenty meters from the city gate, he threw the stone from his hands, "Damn bastards die for me!"
Boom!
A loud explosion sounded when the stone thrown by Yol hit the city gates. When the dust from the explosion disappeared. A wide grin appeared in Yol's lips. "The gate has been broken! All men, charge and kill everyone!
Ooohh!
As the barbarians were about to enter the city, they were greeted by a group of soldiers wearing a full plated armor. The iron swords and armor were reflecting the light coming from the sun. These were the footmen that Lori summoned from the barracks. Each of them was Rank B in terms of warrior strength.
The barbarians thought that they could easily overwhelm the footmen with their huge numerical advantage. But in this little space, their advantage was nothing. These barbarians who have a Rank CC in strength were like lambs delivered in the tiger's mouth. When they step forward, they would be greeted by a heavy blow from the footmen's swords. Even when they tried to hack them with their weapons, it only scratches the armors and shield of the footmen.
Yol seeing such a scene couldn't believe it. His eyes turn yellow as he roared, "Continue to push them! I don't believe that they wouldn't fall!"
"Kill these bastards!"
"If we get passed them, this whole city will fall!"
"This must be their last defense if we breakthrough, it over for them!"
While the stubborn barbarians continue to come forward, Lori signaled Crocodile.
Small twirling sand appears from Crocodile's hand and throws it to the barbarians in the city gate.
"Sables!"
A tornado of sand appeared and blows every barbarian in the city gate in the sky. The sudden appearance of the tornado surprised everyone. The soldiers standing at the top of the city walls were all staring at Crocodile in awe.
"A mage! We have a mage in the city!"
A random shout came from the soldiers as they all celebrated when they saw the barbarians get blown away. One must know the effect of having a mage in a war is very important. Unlike warriors who specialize in small fights. Mages were considered a star when it comes to war like this. Because they can cast spells with a very wide area of effect, they can be very devastating in wars. That's why when a mage appeared in war, they will immediately be the focused of attention.
They will then become the target of the enemy. Attack will be focused on them as the earlier they were killed, the better it is for the enemy.
"They have a mage in the city!" Yol shouted as he squinted his eyes towards the city wall. He knew that the mage who just cast the spell was there watching from above. He gritted his teeth in anger as he wanted to climb that city wall and kill the mage. But he knew that it was impossible with their current situation.
While everyone was still shocked by what happened. From inside the city, a group of people riding horses was rushing towards the city gate.
"Let's go! Follow me!" a man with medium-long brown hair, a black eye-patch over his right eye, and the classic helmet with its golden crescent moon. Six swords were hanging from his waist as he has his arms crossed in front of him.
Another curious thing to mention is his horse: it resembles a motorcycle, because it's equipped with real modern handlebars coming out from the mane and an exhaust pipe on the back. Whenever he travels on horseback, he rides leaning back with his arms crossed.
Sorry, for the quality as I can't write anything better than this...
