Chapitre 171: Demon Slayer 3 (2257 words)

Can you imagine how it feels to die a rather painful death of getting squashed underneath the tires of a truck and not even a second latter awake in the body of a person you previously thought was nothing more than a fictional character?

Well, I didn't… till it happened that is.

I reincarnated into the body of Nezuko Kamado the little sister of the protagonist of the demon Slayer anime and manga Tanjiro Kamado.

For the first couple of weeks after my reincarnation I was in a state of shock, still trying to process what happened, but luckily thanks to the parents and siblings in this new world I was able to accept reality.

Now that I accepted this world as my own, I of course had to prepare for the future as I knew only too well what it held ready for my family.

With the knowledge of the future in my mind I started to make preparations.

Of course, there wasn't much I could do as a newborn baby, so I first off started learning Japanese as I regrettably had realized that a translation package wasn't included in the whole reincarnation deal.

For the next five years I lived a happy life and enjoyed my second chance as much as I could.

In those five years I was as active as possible in order to build up some stamina and strength form an early age and of course I didn't forget to attentively observe my father Tanjuro while he performed the Hinokami Kagura, or the dance of the fire god if translated, every new year night.

It was truly mesmerizing to witness how my father even though he looked so weak and tired was able to dance through the entire night thanks to this technique.

I often asked father about the dance and managed to learn a great deal about it from him together with Tanjiro.

Another five years passed in which my preparations were almost completed.

A plan for the faithful night of the beginning of the story plot was prepared and ready and I learned all twelve forms of the dance of the fire god.

Right, something very important happened to me in those five years, to be exact it happened when I was eight and finally managed to keep my state of total concentration breathing passively active.

A sudden jolt of pain passed through my pink eyes and almost threw me out of my total concentration state.

The pain caused me to tightly shut my eyes, but to my surprise I could see many different silhouettes all around me, even behind me.

Those silhouettes are all glowing in a soft green color which moved differently depending on each silhouette.

When I opened my eyes again, I realized that those silhouettes were in fact the plants and animals around me.

This energy constantly moved even if only slightly inside even the plants.

It also had a different brightness and depth.

After awaking form my daze at the sudden change, I ran to the closest stream of water and looked at my reflection only to sigh in relief when I couldn't see any changes in my eyes.

From then on, I spent a lot of time analyzing and understanding this new ability of mine.

By now I got a pretty clear idea as to what it does and am able to utilize it with enough skill to make use of it.

My eyes allow me to see something which I named life-force, it is the soft green energy that I saw inside the plants, animals and later also inside people.

This life-force has different effects, the most important one of them being the aura production.

Aura, another energy which I'm able to see after the change in my eyes.

In my previous life when I read the demon slayer story, I asked myself what it was that allowed the breath users to create fire, wind and even insects with nothing but special techniques.

But I soon abandoned this train of thought as it didn't make much sense to try and find logic inside a fictional story.

Now I got an answer, I learned this the next time I trained my breathing after awakening this ability.

I witnessed how something got drawn out of my own life-force, it was crimson and looked like flames.

When I then performed one of the twelve forms of the sun breathing, I saw how this new energy left my body and moved through my wooden sword and formed the already familiar trail of fire which was the trademark of sun breathing technique.

Anyway, back to the characteristics of life-force and their meanings.

Till now I was able to understand four different factors of this energy which I named life-force.

First off, the movement of the life-force inside the body, it indicates the bodies movement and intentions of the being.

With some practices and passive observations of the surroundings in my daily life I'm now able to predict movements and read the intentions of a living being.

Second, the brightness of the life-force, it shows the health of the being.

This is something I was able to observe on my father Tanjuro, his life-force still shines, but it has grown weaker over time as his illness got worse.

Third, depth of the life-force, the deeper the color of the life-force the more vitality the body possesses which in turn increases one's healing capabilities and endurance.

I couldn't observe this on a big scale, but I understood this after performing a couple of tests on trees.

The ones with deeper colored life-force were a lot more tenacious than the others and recovered faster.

Lastly the fourth, the amount of life-force, this is something that is connected to the other energy, aura, as the amount of one's life-force directly translates to the amount of aura one can produce and use.

Breathing techniques passively increase the amount of life-force of the practitioner allowing them to slowly increase the amount of aura they can use.

From what I was able to observe there seems to be a limit to how much the technique can increase one's life-force.

I think that they allow the practitioner to reach the peak amount of their body by unlocking every bit of potential of the body which in turn increases the amount of life-force in their bodies.

By the time I turned twelve years old my physical capabilities already reach Hashira level.

With total concentration breathing active for a couple of years now I also experienced a great increasing life-force.

If I were to fight against a hashira now… … … I would die instantly.

I got no experience, I never fought against anyone.

My training mostly consists out of practice and dodging training, I built a training area future up the mountain where I live on.

Logs bound on ropes swinging around.

It helped a lot, but in the end, it is just training and not experience.

I burry my short-lived pride and arrogance under a slightly unhealthy amount of paranoia and start my day like many before.

Nothing much happened through the day and I didn't think much of it till I saw how my older brother walked in my direction.

He has his black hair which turned reddish brown against the tips pulled backwards into a short ponytail revealing his forehead scare completely, he also wears his iconic black and green checkered haori.

Two hanafuda earrings with suns on them move in the winter wind.

My pink eyes look into his dark red ones and a sudden realization came over me.

I'm currently carrying Rokuta, one of my younger siblings on my back and covered him with a white coat.

I looked exactly the same like the Nezuko at the beginning of the story.

'Shit, so it is already beginning.' I controlled my expression and happily greet Tanjiro before wishing him good luck and a save journey to the village down the mountain.

After he left I made my way back to the small wooden house where I put down the sleeping Rokuta before moving out.

"Mom! I'll be out for a while, I make sure to be back before dinner." With that I left the house again and ran into the forest.

'Luckily I already prepared most things, I only need to make some last checks.'

Time passes and I return home in the evening, just in time to help my mother, Kie Kamado, with cooking dinner.

I waited patiently till my mother looked away for a short moment and swiftly pull out a small bag filled with a sleeping medicine.

Emptying the bag inside the soup and stirring it till one could no longer see any traces of it, I once again hide away the bag in my sleeve.

'This should be enough to keep them still for around eight hours, long enough for the dust to settle' While thinking this I harshly push away the sneaking feeling of guilt, it wasn't the time to for that, I would loath myself and bath in self-pity later, once the impending threat of Muzan Kibutsuji no longer hung over my family's head.

"Nee-chan! Is the food ready yet?" One of my younger brother's, Shigeru bursts into the kitchen with clear inpatient's written all over his face.

I turn around with a soft smile and chide him softly.

"Be patient, it will be done soon." I watch amused how he pouted before going back.

A few minutes later the food was finished and I together with my mother brought the food on the table and fill up everyone's bowl.

""""""Thanks for the meal"""""" we all say together and get ready to eat.

"Ah! I forgot something outside!" I suddenly say out a loud and place my bowl back on the table.

Turning to the rest I smile apological.

"I'll be back in a moment, you guys can already start eating, no need to wait for me." With that I jump up and leave the house before anyone could start asking questions.

Once outside I lean against the wooden wall of our house and let myself slide downwards till I sit in the cold snow.

'Im sorry, mom, Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru, Rokuta… Tanjiro.' I try to keep myself from crying but the knot in my throat refuses to unravel itself.

This plan of mine will hopefully prevent anyone in my family form being killed by Muzan, but it will also split our family in half.

Once they eat the soup, they will fall asleep and I start carrying them into a prepared cave where I stored enough things for them to take care of themselves after they wake up again.

After placing them there I will erase all traces before waiting in our house for the uninvited guest.

This all sounds rather solid, but the thing that makes me uncomfortable is that Im going to keep Tanjiro in the dark for at least two years.

He will probably think that the rest got kidnapped or also killed, and as his sister I just cant completely ignore the grief my actions will cause him.

But even worse, the rest of the family too will think that I and maybe Tanjiro died in this nights attack.

The later I can lessen a bit with the letter I left in the cave, I wrote my plans my reason and apology in it.

Having calmed down my feelings again I stand up and listen to my surroundings.

From inside the house, I can hear how five people breath steadily and regularly.

Entering the dinning room I see how my mother, brothers and sister lay sleeping on the ground.

'Now there's no turning back…Heh! As if the ever was a time I could turn back.' With that I lift one person after the other off the ground and carried them out of the house, through the forest and into a well-hidden cave that has lots of warm furs, in order to keep them warm while they sleep.

Thanks to my training it only took one and a half hours to move everyone into the cave.

After moving everyone I start to clean up the house by storing everything of worth in a hidden compartment so that it won't get damaged or stolen.

Now there is only one thing left to do, waiting.

Kneeling in the living room I channel my focus inside myself and solidify my control over my life-force.

After awakening my sight ability, I of course also thought about how exactly Muzan turns people into demons.

Without any examples in reach, I could only make some theories and prepare for the worst.

I was just going over one of those theories when suddenly my blood ran cold.

My whole body gets shaken by a strong shiver while I rip open my eyes which have shrunken to the size of a pins.

'He's here!' I slowly turn my head and look at the still closed door of the house.

'He's standing outside the door.' Sweat starts to form on my forehead and my back was already completely drenched.

Then the door was pulled open and revealed
