Chapitre 39: Chapter 38 - Wash being your ears
Ernie woke up the next morning slightly exhausted. He tried to get right up, but both his arms felt heavy and numb. Looking to his side, he saw both Hina and Himari resting their heads on his arm.
Slowly removing his arms he freed himself and removed himself from the middle.
Last night was the first time they slept together and it was a pleasant experience for him.
He carefully put on his clothes making sure he didn't make too much noise and left the room. After their marriage, he completed another quest but he was too in the moment to really pay it any mind.
The system told him his Reitgan has been strengthened, but he didn't fully understand what that meant.
Sitting down in the main hall of his house, Ernie looked over his status.

Ernie didn't see how it increased his Reitgan, but maybe it had something to do with inheritance. For now, he paid it no mind and instead focused on the 80 attribute points he had.
Over the years he's been gaining more and using them all on his Reitgan. After the first upgrade which removed the strain on his eyes, he thought it would be a good idea to focus on upgrading it to see if there were any other negative effects it would get rid of. A man could never be too sure.
Luckily, there were not as the second upgrade increased the durability of the frost that lightly coated his body. In turn this increased his strength and made it highly unlikely normal weapons could harm his body.
The third upgrade didn't give him anything positive nor did it remove a negative effect, instead it increased the likelihood of a descendant awakening the Reitgan.
Now that he had 80 attribute points, he could upgrade it again. However, he was a bit skeptical about it, due to it only adding passive abilities. He would much rather focus on his skills, but the chance for him to be weakened or some other negative effect made him choose to prioritize his eyes.
Every upgrade increased the amount of points he needed by 20, so Ernie needed 80 points to upgrade it. Which he achieved after his wedding last night.
He was lucky as he found out over three years that not all quests give the same amount of points, for instance the village founding quest gave him a massive 100 points. Harder quest gave better rewards.

Ernie agreed and he felt this newfound power inside of him. It sent a chill down his spine, and when he closed his eyes he could sense something. He wasn't sure what it was, but it was a powerup.

Ernie got up and walked towards the small mirror that hung on the wall, he activated his Reitgan and noticed the flower pattern had changed a little. It was on longer a simple flower pattern, instead there was a small four leafed flower around his iris. Around the four leafed flower were two circles and connected to the circles were many flower petals. The color of his eyes didn't change, but the pattern did.
It was weird how a small change could make him feel so powerful. He started to wonder more about the Reitgan and how the system created it.
Ernie also took note that it said he unlocked it, not him and all his descendants. This meant that it was only for him to use and unless the later generation was able to obtain this same flower pattern, or something similar they would never be able to use Watasumi.
While rubbing his chin, Ernie nodded.
"New form means new name."
Various names came to mind, but he couldn't decide on one.
He wasn't too eager to try out Watasumi as he didn't know if it would be dangerous or not. The system told him nothing about it which meant he'd have to find out on his own.
Still, he had plenty of time.
After spending ten minutes looking in the mirror whilst thinking of names, Ernie realized he still had a meeting to attend. The days ahead would be busy and he had no time to waste.
Two minutes after Ernie left, Hina and Himari both woke up. They noticed Ernie vanished, but weren't worried.
For the two of them, they had a lot of catching up to do. Tons of faces they did not know and information they needed to gather.
"Uncle Ernie!"
A child's voice called out as the front door opened up.
Hearing Nozomi's cute little voice, both girls smiled.
They could hear Nozomi's footsteps creeping around the house and eventually she wandered into their room.
"Ah!"
She screamed when she saw two naked women.
"Why are you naked? You going to bathe?"
Nozomi asked with a curious gaze.
"Yes. Would you like to join us?"
Himari replied.
They weren't thinking of bathing so soon as they just woke up and were a bit tired, but since Nozomi came in and saw them like this she just agreed.
Nozomi shook her head.
"No, I already took a bath. Don't forget to wash behind your ears!"
Nozomi said as she hopped out of the room humming.
Seeing that Ernie wasn't around, she wasn't too interested in staying around.

Also, reason that there are no other techniques being shown is because he can only use some when he has his Reitgan active.
