Chapitre 1: Prologue
[Sirens Wailing]
Tap, tap, tap, tap [Heavy Footsteps]
"shit shit shit shit run run run run, what did I even do" I said as run into an alley where I get cornered by the police
"Arte, you are under-arrest for harboring a forbidden item, hand it over before we enact on the spot execution"
The police point their gun at Arte, the gun makes a charging noise Wruuuuuuunggg
"Execution?! I DIDN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING"
"You were caught by our cameras and scanners, you read the contents of it didn't you?"
As the police says those words I was shocked
'Contents? I don't even remember reading anything'
[Gunshot fires]
"Oh.."
[1 week ago]
"Finally classes are done" I said as I stretch my hands in the air.
"Arte, slept again didn't you?"
Arte jokingly mutters to Maki
"Dreaming is much better than living in this crap of a world" he chuckles and looks at the window
"Maki, don't you think it would be better if the world did not advance this far in technology" He says as he points at a graviton powered car.
"Don't be such a dreamer Arte, there's a reason why us humans dream of furthering technology more….."
Maki says enthusiastically as Arte cuts him off and asks
"Like what reason? Entertainment?"
"To make life easier" Maki says
Rrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiinggggggg [The bell rings]
"Well, that's our signal to get out of class. See you later Arte"
Maki then proceeds to walk out of the classroom
"I guess it's time for me to go too"
Arte walks out of the classroom and enters the school transport system to log out.
"Phew, even though the class is virtual reality it's still very tiring, damn"
Arte gets out of his capsule and opens a hologram television
[Modern day superheroes band up to destroy criminal organization "Fume", President thanks them for their services….] –Television switches off-
'Superheroes huh, they say they all originated from one hologram. That doesn't even make sense, how do you gain technological powers from a hologram?'
The door opens loudly
Clak!
"Arte! How many times must I call you downstairs before you go?!"
Arte replies with
"Oh sorry, mom I was spacing out. Classes today took a heavy toll on my mind"
Arte's mother looks around his room and shouts
"You are already 17 and you still don't know how to clean your room. Clean up Arte! If I see that mess when I come back, I'll disconnect your gadgets from the internet."
"Alright, alright. No need to get so dramatic about it"
As Arte was cleaning his room he found a box that his dad left behind.
"I miss you, old man"
He opens it and finds his toys that he used to play with his father and a pen.
"A pen?" He chuckles
"Old man, we don't need pens in this generation anymore. Last time they were in use was a couple hundred years ago haha. How does this even work without paper"
Arte proceeds to try out the pen but it does not let out any ink ,he then notices the button on top of the pen.
"Oh, I forgot they had this mechanism too"
As Arte clicks the pen the button wouldn't go down. It felt like something was blocking the button from going down.
"Huh?"
Arte opens the lid of the pen and finds a small sheet of paper rolled up inside the pen.
"What's this? Papers still exists in this era? I might be able to sell this to the museum for a lot of credits. What is even written here."
Arte unwinds the paper showing symbols that he could not read except for one word
"Sphere?....."
As he says that word a bubble comes out of his mouth and the paper starts to cling onto his skin and produce heat
"Ugh!? My skin it's burning"
The paper starts to spread throughout his whole arm and reached until his neck searing his vocal chords.
"Uahk? I… hurts….."
'I can't shout for help it hurts so much, please someone help me. Please. I just want this searing pain to end please'
A bubble comes out of Arte's mouth again and floats in front of his half melted face.
'He…lp'
Due to the increasing amount of pain, Arte faints falling forward and colliding with the bubble in front of him. The bubble is absorbed by Arte's face and imitates his thoughts.
"I want this searing pain to end"
Arte wakes up.
"HUH?"
He runs to his room's body scanner to check for problems. The scanner shows no sign of problems in his body.
"Was I Dreaming?"
He hears a bubble pop behind him *plop*
"huh?"
