Outside the tent, two soldiers quarreled amongst each other.
"The commander told us to feed the wolf."
"You do it, I'm too scared to even just look at it."
Little did they know that the girl who was resting inside had slowly woken up?
'Ah-My head hurt, what's with all the ruckus.'
Athena opened her eyes from all the noise she was hearing outside. She slowly opened her eyes and noticed the unfamiliar room. She turned around to see Fuji sitting down and staring at her anxiously at her condition, as she started patting the wolf on the head, pleased with the fact she was alive thanks to him.
"Good boy." She praised him and assured him that she was doing much better.
The girl sat down and decided to rest for a moment and listen to what the soldiers were quarreling about. When things became clearer, she couldn't help it, but laughed, seeing the reason for their argument was due to Fuji, whom the people back in the village had treated like a puppy, yet was seen as a beast on the battlefield.
Well, she clearly understands why they are so frightened of him. After what has happened on the battlefield and the fact he is a Twilight Wolf is a good enough reason for them to fear him.
She decided to ease them in as she stood up from the bed and slowly walked towards the exit of the tent.
"Don't worry, he won't harm you…"
A sweet angelic voice caught the attention of the two guards as they became alerted and taken aback. They took a few steps back, away from the tent, as they soon became acquainted with the owner of that sweet voice. The two soldiers' eyes lit up at the sight of the girl at her feet.
"My Lady?"
"My Lady you're up?"
Both of them looked puzzled by the situation and didn't know what to do. They expected her to be unable to walk for the next few days after hearing all the rumors of her heroic action on the battlefield.
Athena ignored them and asked, "Do you know where my friend is?"
They both nodded their heads as they pointed in the direction, using their fingers to pinpoint the man's location.
"Thank you." She smiled in return as she headed to where Lirius could be.
As the girl walked around the camp. Everyone knew right away that it was her since Fuji walked beside her. However, the site of her walking perfectly without any pain shocked them. To think she went to such great lengths on the battlefield and lost tons of blood yet is walking as if nothing happened.
"I see you never failed to impress me…"
Her sweet voice echoed throughout the whole tent.
Lirius immediately dropped what he was doing, as he turned around to see where the voice came from. The joy of seeing the girl was written all over his face as he smiled and quickly ran towards her. "You're awake."
"How long was I asleep for?"
"Almost 3 days…"
"What happened while I was asleep?"
Everyone in the tent was in a daze seeing how the two interacted with each other. They were so close to each other as if they were lovers, as the rumors precise them.
"Since I was able to create more potions and most of the soldiers were healed, most of them went back to war. Right now, I'm trying to make a potion strong enough to restore the Healer's ability to recover their ability to restore a broken part." He explained in detail all the things that had happened while she was asleep.
"So have you made it?" She asked
"Unfortunately not, there are a lot of soldiers who are badly injured as well. Most of the Healers can only heal minor wounds now and can't restore any broken parts. It seems they aren't like you…" He sighed, as he feared things were about to get complicated for him again. The fact that he would never dare lie to her.
Athena was confused about what Lirius meant, "What do you mean?"
"Unlike you, once you rest it seems your mana recovers quite fast. Surprisingly, you were able to heal more than a thousand soldiers during that time. Most of them had major problems…"
Lirius continued to explain, causing Athena to be speechless about what she had done back then.
'Wait, What? I healed more than a thousand soldiers. How did I even do that, well I recall healing one or two soldiers at the same time? Maybe a group of soldiers, but I didn't expect I'd end up being more than a thousand.'
"Tina? Are you alright?" Lirius asked, seeing the girl was in a daze.
"I'm sorry, I was in deep thought just now." She giggled, finding herself to be quite an extraordinary person, "Well, do you still have some mana potion?"
"They have quite a lot of mana potions, but they are just normal potions." He answered, curious as to why she had suddenly asked such a question.
"That's fine, grab them and take me to where the soldiers are…"
"No, you just woke up. What if you'll pass out again…?" Lirius yelled, causing everyone in the tent to worry as they all moved into one corner. For they have already once witnessed the man in his rage, and do not wish to find out how he erupts more.
"Don't worry, nothing like that would happen…" She smiled, reassuring him that she had completely recovered.
"How sure are you?"
"Since I have you beside me."
Athena's words left Lirius speechless, such an innocent child, yet she knows how to win a man's heart.
Lirius was caught off guard for a moment as his ear turned red; he sighed as he gave orders to the alchemist to get the potions.
They then visited the tent with the worst cases. Lirius was worried since the site wasn't suitable for children. He notices Athena's complexion looking quite pale as he expected.
"Are you alright?" He asked
Athena just nodded her head
'My words, this is worse than any horror movie I've watched back in my world. Seriously, this was so, so gross, I felt like puking.'
Athena walked closer to the soldier, "Don't worry, I'm here to help…"
It didn't take long for the miracle they all anticipated to happen. The soldier who lost both his limbs suddenly grew them back. It pleased everyone to see the soldier full of life again. Athena did not hold back as she moved to the next bed, eventually healing the entire tent.
Afterward, they moved to the next tent and completed it in no time. News of her ability being able to heal all the badly injured soldiers soon spread all over the camp.
"Here…" Lirius handed her another bottle of potion with deep thought. He did not like the idea of the girl being in the spotlight. He has worked hard to keep her ability hidden, but what can he do when the girl is such a kind person.
Athena drank the potion and took a deep breath.
"What's wrong?" Lirius asked.
"I was wondering if they could spare us some potion to help the village as well." She wondered.
"We can ask the Commander, but I haven't seen him nor his son for 2 days now since they went back to the front line." He explained.
"I guess, we won't be able to help them then…" She answered desperately.
From a distance, a man was preparing to leave when he overheard the soldiers talking about what had happened all over the camp. He called one of the soldiers and whispered an order to him. The soldier nodded as he acknowledged and happily accepted his task, as he walked away.
As he smiled seeing the girl helping everyone in the camp, he suddenly felt like hell was glazing at him. In the corner of his eyes, he noticed Fuji giving him a terrifying glare. All he could do was smile and wonder as to why the wolf detested him so much.
It was halfway through the afternoon when Athena finished half of the tent. At least most of the major wounded soldiers were all healed now.
As they stepped inside one of the tents with soldiers who weren't that badly injured, Athena thought of something.
'I wonder?' She recalled something from one of the RPG games she used to play as a child and thought of what she could do in the game, possible in this fantastic new world of hers.
It confuses everyone as to why she was standing in the middle of the tent. Suddenly her entry body was covered in light as she spread her arms and twirled around, majestically like a ballet dancer, and miraculously healed every one.
"Amazing."
"She healed everyone in one go."
When she saw the result, she was pleased with herself. However, she had forgotten how weak her own body was and collapsed.
"My Lady?"
Athena started coughing some blood out as she dropped down to her knees, causing Fuji and Lirius to panic.
"Why must you push yourself," Lirius yelled as she caught the girl in his arms.
"I didn't expect I'll be able to do it." She replied while coughing out some blood. "Damn it, you just woke up, why you must burden yourself."
"I'm fine, I just need a rest…"
As day turned to night, stars soon covered the skies as they twinkled in the sky. Lirius forces Athena to stop and rest for the night. Since the Commander had not returned yet, she continued to stay in his tent as the soldiers were instructed to allow her to use it.
"Lirius, I'm sorry, but I promise you that I am fine."
"You always say that."
"Hmm," she smiled as she slowly closed her eyes. "Good night Lirius."
Lirius turned to check on the girl who had closed her eyes; he gazed softly at her; all anger soon vanished as he whispered back, "Good night."
