October felt drained when she entered her apartment. Immediately, she smelled the strong scent of different flowers wafting in the air of her apartment. She sighed and went to her room. She felt that her room felt so cold, big, and empty for some unknown reason. It was really weird. This was the same room she has been living for years but why right now did she felt like this?
While looking around the room, her eyes rested on the flowers on her bedside table. She unconsciously walked to it and touched the flowers on a vase. She remembered how shocked she was when she first received these flowers. It was the first bouquet of flowers she received in her whole life. Lilies and carnations, the flowers that made her realize how beautiful such things was. Maybe she was being just sentimental, but these flowers became her favorites, especially the forget-me-not flowers.
"It already wilted." She muttered under her breath as she touched its coarse, dry, and rough petals. She was saddened at the thought of throwing these. How did she now realize that it had already wilted to this degree? Did she turn a blind eye to these flowers? Was she in denial that she has to throw these flowers that she carefully and clumsily arranged on her vases and placed it around her apartment?
But right now, even if she wanted to, she can't just leave these like this. She has to throw it away now. In fact, all the flowers in her apartment will eventually wilt and be thrown away. Just thinking about made her chest tightened.
October knew that, somehow, she got used to receiving flowers of different colors and varieties. However, she did not regret it. It was an experience she will never forget. She thought that at least, once in her life, she felt like she was cherished and cared for. At least, other than her grandfather, someone else looked at her.
What happened some time ago was just...so unexpected. And now, October knew that she screwed up. She also knew that she run away from him.
She sighed again and pulled the pin from her bun and her black silky hair fell down on her back. She run her fingers through her hair as her eyes looking as empty as ever looked out of her window.
Moments later, October washed up and changed into her night clothes. She then went into her kitchen and made herself some hot chocolate before going into her office and started drowning herself with her paperwork to keep her distracted from the events taken place for weeks.
Beep
October stopped reading the document on her hand and reached out to get her phone. She looked at it and turned out that it was Elise. It has been a while since she heard from. her.
October opened the message and it read: Hey! Let's hang out on Saturday, okay? Okay. I miss you a lot! Don't you miss me? Let's grab some lunch.
October raised her brow and contemplated on her current situation. She doesn't have any plans on weekend. She might probably just stay home and watch movies or read her unfinished books.
She shrugged her shoulders and muttered while typing, "Okay. Just pick me up and your treat."
A second later, October's phone rang. She looked at it and it was Elise. She answered after the third ring. "..."
"What? Why is it my treat?" Elise was incredulous at what October said.
"You were the one who invited." October replied coldly as she tucked her stray hair behind her ear and leaned on her chair comfortably.
"Wha-! Because you were never out! You're always busy with your work or you have business trips." Elise fumed. "How can you be stingy."
"On my business trips, I always got you souvenirs." October retorted.
"Th-that doesn't count! Hmph! Anyway, can't you just treat me a meal? Seriously! How can you be so stingy!" Elise really have to hand it to October who almost never spends her money unless it was necessary. "You'll pay for our lunch, got it?!"
October sighed, "Fine."
"Good, good." Elise laughed jovially. "I'll pick where we'll eat." She laughed.
"Yeah. Just pick anywhere." October wanted to say more but just swallowed her words.
"Of course, I will definitely pick the most expensive one. I can't let this rare opportunity of having you treat me a meal slip." Elise laughed. "Bye. See you on Saturday. I'll pick you up."
"Mm." October nodded and ended their call.
October immediately went back on finishing her review on the document she was reading a while ago. She also made her reports and checked on the internet for some updates on the market. After that, she went to her room and slept.
'What is this hard and warm object around me?' October thought as she also seemed like tied up and can't move as much. She tried to wriggle out and eventually saw a wall. She touched it and it was smooth and soft, almost glittering from the light of the sun.
October blinked her eyes in confusion. What was this? She then slowly tilted her head up and, as if time suddenly stopped, she felt herself stiffen up and stopped breathing. Her eyes widen a little and her mouth parted slightly as she was left in confusion at the sight before her.
After a few moments, his closed eyes slowly opened and revealed his ocean blue eyes so deep as if sucking her up. His eyes glimmered as the sun's light hit it. It was just so mesmerizing that it left October in a daze.
She then heard him chuckle and his eyes showed his usual evil and mischievous light. She immediately snapped out of her daze and felt her face heat up. She just got herself caught staring at him. But why was he here? In her room? And...his chest was bare. Wait. Why was his chest bare?
October's face turned redder at the sight of it as she unblinkingly looked at his chest, wide shoulders, and muscles on the right places and proportions. What was this? What's happening exactly? What was Lexus doing here?
Lexus smirked and run his fingers through her hair. October felt awkward at his sudden gesture but did not stop him from playing with her hair. In fact, she doesn't care if he will even mess it up.
Yesterday, she knew she messed up so bad but seeing him here in her room, on her bed even, felt so unreal. She was happy to see him.
Lexus leaned in and slowly got his face close to hers with his eyes closed. Eventually, his lips touched hers lightly. He then muttered on her ear, "Good morning, my wife."
"Wife?" October snapped her eyes open but then hissed in pain as she covered her eyes that were blinded by the light of the sun. After squirming around and having her eyes adjusted to the morning light, she eventually realized something and said while covering her blushing face with both hands, "That was embarrassing."
