Chapitre 18: KARMA HAS EVERYONE BACK
It was a stormy night with heavy rain falling outside. Jia sat on the couch as she watched her favorite show on the television well protected from the cold storm. She had just returned from her vacation from school. Suddenly she heard a shriek cry from the living room. Her heart pounded at a high rate. She felt extreme pain as if something was forced inside her heart. She ran downstairs not minding wearing her slippers.
She felt weak in her knees even before reaching the room when she saw a body covered in blood on the floor. It was the body of a woman. The face was totally pale and out of color. Her whole body was filled with blood and her beautiful eyes were closed as if the person was in a deep slumber.
The dead body was of the same lady who had bought her home, loved her unconditionally, and also cared for her when she was sick. Seeing the person dead she was not able to contain herself. She felt lost and lonely again. It was as if she had returned to her childhood days. This was suffocating her to death.
'It must be a dream… It as to be a dream… My mother could not die… It is a dream' Jia continuously repeated these words as if this would wake up the lady lying lifeless on the floor. Stream of tears flowed down her face as she stared at the girl crying with the woman in her arms. It was a heart-wrenching scene.
Jia did not utter a word before she saw her mother and her father enter the house on the day of the funeral. She could not help but feel disgusted as she stared at the lady who had an affectionate smile on her face as she hugged the man's arm.
The couple walked to Jessica whose eyes were swollen red due to continuous weeping. Seeing her father with another woman that too on the day of her mother's funeral Jessica was heartbroken and more tears streamed down her face. Not showing any sympathy to the pitiful girl, the man placed two conditions in front of her.
This ignited a spark of anger in the girl and she left the home. Jia witnessed this all from the stairs. Now everything seemed to be more clear. Her mother and father concluded together to kill her father's legal wife. Thinking this she felt bad for the innocent mother-daughter who fell for the trap. She then realized that she was also a pawn for the plan.
After Jessica left, the woman turned towards the girl on the stairs. With tears in her eyes, she rushed towards the girl and engulfed her in a tight hug. She was not happy to see her daughter but was proud that she helped her gain the trust of the man and enter the Han family.
Being loved by her mother for the first time, Jia's heart melted and she forgave her mother. Soon she took over the role of elder miss of the family. She was loved and doted on by her parents. Originally she never hated Jessica but was envied of the love she never received. She wanted to take away all the people who cared for or loved Jessica. This jealousy slowly turned into a poison that killed humanity in Jia's heart. She started to scheme against Jessica. She wanted Jessica to die that too miserably.
She had planned endless attacks on Jessica but would always fail. There was someone protecting her and the protection was strong. Her hatred for Jessica was so intense that she had even tried to pay off one of the members of 'The Dark Knights' to end Jessica but was thrown away from the headquarters. But this did not stop her attempts on Jessica's life. She was hell-bound to taste the blood of Jessica.
Present-day, Han Mansion
Jia sat on the cushion with her mom. The years that had gone by played like a horror movie in the mind of Jia. She was still in a daze when the doorbell rang.
She ordered the servants to open the gate. After some time two policemen came inside. Looking at their uniforms it was clear that they were on a high post.
"Mrs. Han, can we talk?" One of them asked with his deep voice.
Mrs. Han had composed herself until now. She was again that elegant mistress of the Han family. With a polite smile, she nodded in agreement.
"You need to come with us. We have your arrest warrant." The man claimed as he raised a document in his hand.
The mother-daughter was taken aback by surprise but Mrs. Han didn't lose her composure as she asked, "may I know what is the complaint against me?" She was sure that she would be able to sway the problem away after all she was a sly fox who entered the family by killing many people.
Seeing her proud look and sly smile the policeman gave a chuckle. He was amazed by the cleverness of this woman. 'How could she be so relaxed after killing a person. Is she a mental case or she is well experienced in the killing.'
"Ma'am, you are suspected to be involved in the murder of the first wife of Mr.Han."
"Do you have evidence?" She was sure that these were just groundless assumptions and they had no evidence. but what happened next made her go pale with fear.
Without any hesitation, the police officer took out an envelope from his jacket. It was a yellow-colored packet. He slowly recovered two pictures and a document from it. There was also a pen recorder. He played the pen recording. In just ten seconds of the playing the color on the faces of the mother-daughter vanished.
"Hello…"
"Yes… Have you done the task I gave you… Beware I still have your family."
"It's done….. She would not be able to survive the shock and if she did she would die in the car…"
"Haha… It serves her right to take away the thing that belonged to me."
"You are evil….. If not for my family I would long have killed you… Only for the title of Mrs. Han, you don't care for the little girl… Shame on you."
"Don't teach me what to do… She was the one who stole my everything, not me… She has to die. I will make sure it happens. Now just do your work."
At the end of the recording, Mrs. Han's face turned pale. It was surely the recording of that day…
A few years back, she had teamed up with Mr. Han and decided to kill the lady who had married into the Han family and given birth to the heir. She was way too greedy and wanted to end the marriage between a happy couple. She was all set to destroy the peacefulness of the family. Until she was discovered by a man with powerful backing.
Afraid that the person would reveal her evil intentions she got the man's family kidnapped and used his hands to kill the woman. The recording was when she had blackmailed the man just an hour before the accident took place.
With her eyes popped out she stared intensely at the pen in order to break it. While the policemen gave her a cold stare before locking handcuffs around the lady's hand and taking her out.
They were not sure who had given the evidence. They just received a mysterious package with no address on it. Inside the packet was the pen recording and a government order to reopen the accident's case. It had special orders from the higher-ups in the government. They immediately came to arrest the lady.
