Chapitre 16: HER LOVED ONES

Jessica sat in her car which was parked by the road. She was feeling extremely terrible. 'Mom… I miss you a lot… I hope you could be here.' Her facing the ceiling of the car a tear dropped from her eye. This was the first time after coming back that she cried.

After a few minutes, the girl in the car stepped out and walked to the edge of the road. Inhaling the air she closed her eyes and let the breeze play with her hair as it touched her face. She opened her eyes slowly and looked at the stunning view.

She had driven aimlessly after she left the Han Mansion. She had landed in an isolated place with some hills surrounding it. The place she was standing on was a perfect place to admire the place. Seeing the mountains a thought came to the mind of Jessica, 'Life is like a mountain, hard to climb, but the climb is worth the amazing view from the top.'

When Jessica was abroad she had made many friends and she soon left her lonely self after being alone for about one year. These friends became her inspiration and taught her how to be lively again. She was part of a group of five friends including her. The one wisest in the group always said highly about mountains and they are distinguished views. She was not a typical nature lover and never paid much attention. But looking at just the mountain tops gave her the dream to climb one.

She was still lost in her track of thoughts when her phone rang. It was a call from Amy. "Hello!" She replied as her mood had cheered up already remembering the idiots who mended her and taught her to live again.

"Where are you? Is everything alright?" Amy asked with her voice filled with concern. "Hmm… I am on my way back to the store, meet me there. I will drop you home." Jessica said as she walked inside her car and started the engine.

"Okay." Amy agreed.

.....

In front of the mall,

A black Audi stopped in front of Amy, the person inside rolled down the windows. On seeing it was Jessica, Amy instantly climbed the car as if it was her own property.

"Where should I drop you, your highness," Jessica said to Amy who had just sat down. "To the Fang Mansion… Driver." Amy said with a teasing smile on her face. Jessica glared at the girl sitting on the back seat who in response stuck her tongue out. Giving her a smile Jessica started the engine and stopped in front of the Fang Mansion.

"Come in. Mom has been missing you recently." Amy urged with a pitiful face. Her mom had been asking her to bring Jessica home for a meal or night stay, and if today she didn't go with her Mother Fang would kick her out on the road.

Jessica glanced at Amy who was trying all the means to get her in the house and understood the whole scenario before she nodded and parked her car near the entrance.

.....

Inside the Fang mansion,

No one was around as it was a surprise visit. Only a few servants were there who instantly greeted the ladies with the uttermost respect.

Not seeing anyone around, Amy and Jessica made their way to the backyard. They somewhat had the feeling that the family may be in the yard, and their intuition was correct.

sitting around a table, Mother Fang was reading a book, while Father Fang and Ron played chess. "I don't want to play anymore I always lose," Ron said in a grumpy tone. He had played many rounds with his father but he lost all of them in a blink of an eye.

"Can I play on your behalf, Ron?" The father-son raised their head to the source of the voice. Seeing the person, Ron's eyes lit up instantly.

"Yes, Yes… Sister Jazz is here. Now I will win for sure." Ron said as he tugged to the sleeve of Jessica's top. Jessica sat down near Ron as Father Fang set up the new game. Mother Fang also kept her book aside as she looked forward to the game between Jessica and her husband.

'This game is worth watching. One is an old sly fox while the other is the searing Phoenix. Hehe… Let's see who wins the game.'

The game started as all the eyes were on the game board.

"Checkmate…" In just a few minutes one of the players won.

"Yeah… Thanks, sister Jazz, I won due to you." Ron jumped around in happiness. Jessica had won with very little effort. Father Fang looked lovingly at Jessica as he praised her, "well done, Jessica!" You were excellent. I never knew about your skills. Where did you learn them from?"

Jessica turned silent before she said, "I learned them when I was abroad."

"You are good, Jessica." Mother Fang said as she stroked the hair of Jessica. Her eyes were soft and filled with love and care.

"Have you had your lunch?" Mother Fang asked.

"Yeah! But I am hungry now." Amy stuck her nose in their conversation but Mother Fang didn't mind. She got up and went inside the mansion not long after she walked out with some fruits.

She placed the fruit tray on the table for all to eat. Everyone enjoyed the fruit salad as Mother Fang inquired about her life.

Suddenly she remembered something and excused herself to go inside and bring it. The others were still engaged in their own world when Mother fang came back with a black box in her hands. She placed the box in front of Jessica and asked her to open it. Jessica was curious and carefully opened the box.

As soon as she saw what was inside she smiled with tears threatening to fall from her eyes. Inside was a blue recent moon pendant. It was small but had the finest details on it. At the back of the moon, Jessica's name was engraved on it.

"This is beautiful. But you need not buy this for me." Jessica said to Mother Fang who was looking lovingly at her.

"No dear, we love you and this is a gift to congratulate you. Accept it for us. I know you love it." Father Fang said.

"But-"

"No buts, just take it. It is a token of our love to you. And if you don't want it you can throw it away." Mother Fang said as she tried to make an angry face but ended up smiling at the cute Jessica.

"I will not throw it away. I know you love me and I also love you all so much, you can't even imagine." She said as she looked at the loving faces of her family.

Everyone smiled and continued talking about different things. Jessica decided to stay back today and everyone was super happy especially Mother Fang who prepared a feast for Jessica, claiming that she had grown way too thin.

In contrast to the happy and comfy atmosphere in the Fang Mansion, the Han family's business conference room was fully dull.

Father Han was seated in the middle of the long wooden conference table. He wore a dark face. All the other people were in silence as they waited for anyone to speak. All of a sudden, Father Han heaved a sigh.

"In just a few days the Han business is collapsing… It is very heartbreaking for me to announce that the… company has gone bankrupt." The expressions of Father Han turned sad as he announced the shocking news to all. he had spent his entire life building this business and it just got destroyed in the blink of an eye.

Slowly he got up from his chair and dragged himself to the nearby french windows.

"You all can leave. I will announce the bankruptcy myself to the media." He said as he faced the world outside with tears in his eyes. As time passed all the people left the room leaving behind the man who stood as a mighty mountain shedding his tears in secret.

In the main hall, all the media outlets sat down as they waited for the president to come and share the recent news.

As they saw a shadow emerge from the doorway everyone turned their faces. President Han entered the hall his eyes did not hold any feelings or emotions they were empty. He walked towards the mics and announced, "I announce that the Han business has gone bankrupt and we are closing down." Keeping the statement short he bowed and left the hall before driving away in his car.

A black car was parked on the roadside. A man in business attire leaned on the car as he looked blankly at the gauge just a few steps away from him.

His phone rang which bought him back to his senses. He looked at the contact and frowned. It was a call from his wife. He picked up and before he could say anything the person on the other end of the line started shouting at him.

"How did the company go bankrupt? Did we run out of our money? What will we do? It is your fault. Now, what will we do? We have nowhere to go?"

With every single question, he felt his heart was shattered into thousands… no… millions of pieces. This woman was just cursing him not comforting him. He felt as if his soul was no more alive. He just wanted to finish it all off and go far away… somewhere, that had no pain… somewhere that he could relax. He was not angry but desperate to leave his life.
