Chapitre 11: We are in serious trouble!!
Friday 14th April: 1723: 8:30 AM
Peacefully, I was sleeping. Not knowing about anything that was happening in the real world. Until I felt someone heavily shaking me and calling worriedly in my ear, "wake up Captain!! Wake up!!" I opened my eye. It was Robert. I asked, "what's the matter?" He quickly said, "The wind was extremely strong last night. The sledge with all the supplies is nearly falling in the river. We've managed to save just enough food for the way back but it's not much. We are currently trying to pull the sledge back to land but the current is much more stronger and the river has flooded a bit so it's much more wider." I quickly got up and ran outside the tent.
He was right the river has overflowed and is now closer to camp. I could see the other crew members struggling to pull the sleigh to the icy snowy ground. There was less people then yesterday. That's what worried me. And still does.
I ran up to one of the crew members who was telling them what to do and asked, "where's the others?" He turned to me and that's when I saw the sadness in his expression and in his voice as he said, "most of us didn't survive the storm."
