Chapitre 10: Until tomorrow
Ash stayed for a while talking about everything, from the weather in Australia to his job. He is very comfortable to be with, he makes you feel welcome somehow. He's very attractive especially when he smiles, how his eyes light up when something interesting comes up in the conversation, then he makes this nice sound when he's amused and his dimples makes you want to stare at him more. He does look a lot like James Marsden when he smiles at me. He seems like a great guy, loves to laugh and see everything in a positive way. He told us that he is one of the life guards who volunteers in Bondi beach from spring to summer. You should see Skye's eyes light up like a christmas tree at the mention of life guards.
"Wow that's great! I bet you have plenty of life guard friends! Last summer time I visit here, and not really into guys yet then, but I heard that the lifeguards in Bondi are hot like your summers" Skye said, waggling her eyebrows at me. She just couldn't help it, she's coming on shallow and too strong and sounded a bit desperate.. what is wrong with her?
Ash made that amused sound and my heart leaped in attention.
"Yeah, I know a few good blokes, you should be careful with some of them though, they just might do a hit and run on you!" he advised Skye.
Thank goodness for small blessings! He actually put her in her place with that statement.
"I'll introduce you to some of my guys, just... don't be too rough on them."
I was trying not to laugh, when I accidentally look at Skye and she look like she swallowed a fly. Then I felt a bit terrible because I think she didn't mean to come on strong. Skye is a very nice girl but I suppose she needs to learn to curve her tongue a bit so she doesn't come out like a floozy.
There was like, a couple of minutes of silence and awkwardness. I know why Skye was quiet after that. I know she was contemplating her actions or planning your demise.
"So, I guess I need to head off, my train leaves in 15." Ash said looking at the time on his mobile. "What time is your train tomorrow? I can pick you up at the train station, maybe?" he asked.
"It leaves at 10.15." I said.
He nodded, smiled and said, "Ok, see you tomorrow, I'll message you when I get home."
I smiled back, "Ok, I'll see you tomorrow."
Parting is such sweet sorrow.... That's what's on my mind after he left. It's one of the lines Juliet said to her lover Romeo to say goodnight... which gives them hope to see each other the next night. I knew this because I played Juliet in a play in high school.
Then I was thinking, what the H! Am I really into this guy? Is this feelings I'm feeling normal? What the H is happening to me? I'm really confused. I know that I might be attracted to Ash that's all I'm owning up to but this reaction towards him is alien to me. I've never felt like this before. Not ever. I wonder... and I just hope that this doesn't end in tragedy. I need to watch and protect my heart, I think, because this is just a three month long holiday. Nothing good can come out of it. Yes?
