Chapitre 7: Surprise!
As I finished talking, I noticed Skye looking at me funny, sort of like she needs to fart but trying hard not to.. as well as if there's someone behind me. I looked up to where she was looking and almost had a heart attack! "Mr. Broody.. " I whispered and just look at him slack jawed and eyes as big and round as saucers.
He was standing there looking amused, I wonder how long he was standing there and how much he heard! The nerve of this guy eavesdropping on our conversations!
I was still trying to figure out my thoughts when I heard him speak.
"Mr, Broody, huh?" and grinned.
I didn't realised I said that aloud. Now I'm in trouble..
" Ahhh...." come on, Wynter say something.. "You.... you... who are you?" what the H! I said say something! Not insult him! Behind me I can hear Skye choking on her laughter, instead of helping me get a hold of the situation. Wait and see BFF, payback is a bitch!
"Mr. Broody, I guess." he said in a matter of fact way, then my heart strings were pulled as I sit there watching his dimples form as he smiled at me.
I blinked once, twice, took a deep breath then said, "Nice to meet you Mr.... ehrrr... Broody, what can I do to help you?"
Ash.. as Skye told me his name, Mr. Broody, smiled the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. His eyes are laughing at me but he looks like James Marsden with glasses. I'm a bit hypnotised by his smile, I can't seem to look away. Somehow, it feels like time slowed down.
"I was just passing through to say hello, actually, my name is Ash Lattimer, I've seen you out in the airport lounge but it's too late to come over and introduce myself, I met Skye earlier up the end of the aisle and told her I will pass by and say hello to both of you." Mr. Broody said.
He extended his hand for a hand shake and I took his hand, his hand shake is firm but not crushing my hand and his palm is warm. His hand is a bit rough like a workers hand too.
I smiled slowly not sure what is happening with my heart, it feels like I ran a couple of miles, the way it was thumping hard in my chest.. do I need a doctor? Am I having a heart attack?
I unknowingly took back my hand. " Nice to meet you, ehrr Ash."
"Its only Ash, not "ehrrrrr Ash"" I heard Skye say behind me, and the spell is broken.
" Yes I know, you fool" I whispered back to her. I look back to Ash and he was just standing there, he seemed amused at what he's seeing and hearing.
"Sorry, I didn't catch your name." Ash said.
"Ahh... yeah... that's because I didn't say it." What the capital H! Why am I being bitchy to this guy? It must be from being frustrated with Skye... yeah, it must be..
He made an amused sound, like a giggle but with a very low manly sound. "Can I have your name, please?" with amusement in his eyes, he asked confidently.
I just don't know what this guy has got but his eyes is dancing in the light, his smile lights up the whole plane and his dimples, he's got two! It makes my heart do a jig. I think I'm a goner.
"It's Wynter Lane, with a Y instead of I, hey girl, I did a rhyme!" butted Skye.
BFF or not! That's it! I'm going to strangle her neck the first opportunity I get!
"Yes, that's right, it's Wynter Lane." I grit my teeth, frustrated at Skye. I look back at Ash and he's still staring at me with that smile on his face.
"For a minute there I thought you forgot your name.." Ash said jokingly.
I was going to say a retort, when the bell dings and fasten seatbelt sign came on then the captain's voice was heard on the PA that we are landing soon.
"I better head off, it's lovely to meet you at last, Wynter Lane... hope to run into you again." he said and winked at me. He looked behind me and said " Skye, see you later!"
I was dumbstruck to the point that I couldn't say anything but stare at this gorgeous guy. He made an amused sound again, shake his head slightly then walked away back to his seat.
I didn't dare look at where he was heading just in case he looks back.. But I did a sneak peek! I didn't want him to see or think that I was checking him out.. Am I checking him out? Or am I really checking him out? Calm my thunderous heart! He is gorgeous!
"Cat got your tongue, Wynter?" I heard Skye interrupting my thoughts.
The nerve of this girl! It's time! Time to plan for payback! Skye is my BFF, my sister from another mother! I love her dearly but I swear I will get you, girl! Somehow, you just wait and see!
