Adara looked at the spot in amazement. "I guess he was really so weak my fireballs devoured him." laughed Adara. "Looks like I'll be taking all his figurines now!"
Adara began to move but was instantly stopped, something was tying her up.
'Huh? Why can't I move?' thought Adara. She was suddenly filled with fear. Adara looked around frantically, attempting to find the source of her fear.
A figure suddenly appeared with a sword a millimeter away from Adara's throat.
"You won't be taking any figurines today." whispered Eden.
Eden had recently began merging his techniques together. He removed the moonlight aura he placed on top of his Entangle spell.
'Dual elements!' Adara was shocked!
"You've lost" said Eden. "Hand over my figurine"
Adara handed the figurine over.
The crowd that was watching began to disperse as they realized the fight had concluded. There was shock and awe as the display of such elements appeared. Word began to spread across Border Town of a youth who possessed two elements.
The sound of clapping could be seen as two figures approached the two. It was Headmaster Oak and Ignis.
"That was a good fight you two." said Headmaster Oak. "Eden you can lower your weapon now, she is someone important to our cause."
Eden lowered his weapon and took a few steps away from Adara.
Adara looked up at Headmaster Oak and asked loudly "Who are you? And what cause?"
"Respect the headmaster Adara, he is someone you cannot hope to disrespect in your lifetime" yelled Ignis.
Headmaster Oak continued,"Adara, The art of combat requires one to learn as much as possible about their opponent. I could say that you were meant to win that fight just now. However, due to your lack of knowledge on my apprentice, you were easily defeated."
Adara was silent. Adara knew that she lost simply because she did not expect a person to have dual elements. Having an encounter with a multi-element elementalist was rare, Adara took it for granted and underestimated her opponent once she realized she had gained an elemental advantage.
Headmaster Oak turned towards Eden,"Eden, your combat skills still need to improve. I would like to have Ignis here to teach you regarding combat with your fists. if Adara went all out with intent to hurt you, most likely you would have lost before you even had the chance to use your second element. However she did not and that was her fault. Learn from this battle, that your future opponents will not go easy on you."
"Yes Headmaster Oak" replied Eden. Eden understood that he could've suffered tons of damage if Adara came with the intent to hurt him. She simply wanted a figurine.
Sensing the disappointment in Eden, Headmaster Oak continued,"At the end of the day, you still won, Eden the idea of cloaking your entangle spell with your aura spell was genius. Despite the areas where you are lacking, with your current skillset you have many unconventional ways to overcome the obstacles in front of you. Let us head back to the inn and continue our discussion."
Back at the inn, Headmaster Oak began his introductions.
"Eden, this young girl who attempted to steal your figurines is named Adara. As you know, she possesses the fire element. Adara is at the doorstep of the first circle and becoming a true elementalist. I know that you both had your earlier conflict just now, but please let bygones be bygones as it is important that you two get along."
"Understood Headmaster." responded Eden.
Eden looked at Adara who for the moment was quiet.
"Adara , Headmaster says we must get along, I will forgive you for trying to steal from me. I will also make you a sculpture of something you want so long as you buy the materials for it." Eden said.
The truth was, Eden did not really hold any grudges, at the end of the day, he was taught that the strong feasted on the weak, if one was weak one would only have their life trampled upon. He won his battle, why should he be the one to hold the grudge? After Headmaster Oak saved Eden's life, Eden had listened to every one of Headmaster Oak's words as they were the rules to live by.
Adara gave Eden a smile, confirming that the grudge was gone. Truth be told, Adara had already let go her grudge since she knew that her father would not approve of anything that could disrupt his and Headmaster Oak's plans.
"Next to Adara, is Ignis, he is a third circle fire elementalist. He used to be a commander in the Rivenhart military and instructed many soldiers on close combat. He has passed down a great deal of knowledge to his daughter Adara, and hopefully he will be able to pass on basic close combat skills to you as well. Both daughter and father have the surname Redwall"
Headmaster Oak turned towards Adara and Ignis," This is Eden Durreye. He is a dual-element elementalist and my student. He possesses two unique traits. The plant trait which he used at the beginning of his bout with Adara, and second, the moonlight element trait which he used at the end of his fight which is what led to the turnaround."
"Moonlight trait?" asked Ignis "There has been no record of anyone with that trait. This is indeed very interesting."
"There has been one record of a moonlight trait before, however they passed away relatively early in their lives. I happened to come across their diary during my travels. This child possessing this unique trait piqued my interest in him as I had some prior knowledge about the moonlight trait" responded Headmaster Oak.
"Headmaster, you said that you had brought up some kind of plan regarding us, is it time you fill us in?" asked Eden.
"I will now be filling you guys in on the Oak Academy plan" Headmaster Oak replied.
Back from my travels!
