Chapitre 49: Let's Have a Sleep Over
The romantic movie had ended, and everyone who watched it started moving out one after the other, another movie in that same theatre was scheduled to air in one hours time.
It was already late at night, Sonal had work the next day so they had to start going home. As Sonal and Jasmine came out of the theatre and out of the Delhi cinemas, the cheerful Jasmine, all of a sudden starting crying. She wasn't crying loudly but loud enough for close passers bye to hear her.
The passers bye looked at her weirdly as they walked their own way. They murmured as they said, how can a grown lady be crying like that in the streets! Sonal with a sad face then asked her, Jasmine what is it now? We didn't come here for you to start to cry all over again.
Jasmine cried more and her tears rolled down her cheeks freely. Sonal dipped her hand into her hand bag afterwards and brought out a soft tissue. She gave it to Jasmine.
Jasmine here, please stop crying and tell me what it is this time. Jasmine took the soft tissue from Sonal, she whipped her face and blew her nostrils.
Sonal immediately hugged her after this and said, Jasmine there there, that is enough, come on let's go to the car, then we can talk. Passers bye are beginning to talk and look at you weirdly.
Sonal and Jasmine then continued to walk towards the car, when they got to the car, they entered. Luckily the driver used the Limousine today to go pick up Sonal from work.
After entering the car, Sonal pressed the button for the partition to go up between the driver seat and the back seat. Sonal didn't want the driver to eaves drop on their conversation.
The driver had brought Sonal and Jasmine to the cinemas before, he knew he is to drop Jasmine at the Singh mansion first before proceeding to the Arora mansion, so he drove the car towards the Singh Mansion without any instructions from Sonal.
Jasmine at this time was no longer crying but was sobbing. Sonal gave her more time to calm down. When she had calmed down, she gave her a bottle of water. Jasmine took it and drank some.
After she drank it Sonal then asked, can you talk now? Jasmine nodded and said yes. Alright go on, am listening, why did you suddenly start crying after the movies?
Jasmine did not respond immediately. After about a minute she responded that the movie they watched earlier on, is just like her current life. But the difference is that they boy in the movie after proposal, called his fiancée everyday when he travelled for work and married her when he returned.
She sobbed again, then continued saying, Rohit doesn't call me and when I call him he is very angry with me that why am I calling him and disturbing his work. His he the only busy person on earth? Why can't he just be romantic like he used to?
Sonal hugged Jasmine again and said, don't be sad, if this will make you feel better, Yash doesn't call me either, in fact I don't even remember the last time he did. And he is in the same city with me.
But you said so yourself that you don't really love Yash and that you accepted this alliance because it is an arranged marriage between families. I love Rohit, ours is not arranged, we love each other, Jasmine replied.
You know Jasmine? Sonal asked. What Sonal? Jasmine replied. Why don't you spend the night with me at the Arora mansion. Let's have a sleep over.
Don't worry about what you would wear to sleep, you know I have many night gowns and even pajamas of different shades! You can were anyone you like.
Jasmine released herself lightly from Sonal's hug. She then said to Sonal, come to think of it, if I go home, I will be alone in my room and maybe cry more and be more sadder.
Ok I will have a sleepover at your place. But I need to call home first, I will call my mum and tell her about our change of plans, I hope she agrees easily. The last time I went over to Rohit's Pent house, my dad was furious with my mum why she allowed me just take off like that.
As Jasmine calmed her mum, Sonal pressed the button to bring down the partitioning and told the driver to change roots, that he should not go over to the Singh mansion any more but go straight to the Arora mansion. He replied ok miss and changed roots.
Sonal pressed the button again and the partition went up. Sonal called her mum, her mum told her she should speak to her dad directly that he was back home from the office.
Her parents had noticed earlier on, that she had not being herself lately. Her dad though was not in total support of her staying over at the Arora mansion with Jasmine, but for his daughter's well being, he reluctantly gave her the permission to stay over at the Arora mansion with Sonal.
The car reached the Arora mansion and the girls got out while the driver drove the car into the garage to park afterwards.
Sonal and Jasmine stepped into the house, Shruti was just coming out of the kitchen at this time. Sonal greeted namaste mum, Jasmine greeted namaste aunty.
Shruti responded by saying namaste girls. Then she looked at Jasmine and said, Jasmine you here by this time, won't your parents be worried you not home yet? Its really late and dark outside.
Mum, it was last minute we decided that Jasmine would have a sleepover with me today. It was shortly after we finished watching the movie at the cinemas. Am sorry mum I should have called you to inform you on our way home, I just thought it would be better to tell you about it in person, Sonal replied.
That is ok Sonal, you know Jasmine is welcomed here for sleepovers anytime, I was just worried about her parents, Shruti replied. She then asked Jasmine if she had informed her parents about it.
Yes aunty, I spoke to my parents about it before we came home, my dad approves and my mum has no problem about it, Jasmine replied.
Ok girls why don't you go upstairs and freshen up, dinner is ready. When you done, come downstairs for dinner, Shruti said while Sonal replied her and said, thanks mum, we would be down in no time.
Sonal and Jasmine went upstairs to Jasmine's room. Initially Jasmine was worried that Sonal's mum will find out about her crying that much. She didn't want to start discussing Rohit with her, that would have been so embarrassing, Jasmine thought.
But thanks to the baby wipes that Sonal had in her bag. Jasmine was able to use it to wipe off her snugged make up in the car before they alighted. Due to her cries, her mascara had dripped down her cheeks.
After using the baby wipes, she washed her face with the bottle of water Sonal had given her earlier on. This was done when they alighted from the car. After washing her face with the water, she used her handkerchief to dry it. It was after this that they proceeded to enter the house.
Upstairs in Sonal's room, Sonal and Jasmine freshened up quickly, wore pajamas and both came downstairs to have dinner. After dinner, Sonal and Jasmine both helped cleared the table. The maids did the washing of the dishes in the kitchen afterwards.
Before they went back upstairs to Sonal's room, they bade Shruti goodnight. Good night girls and don't stay up too late, Shruti responded. Ok mum we won't, Sonal responded.
Upstairs in Sonal's room, Jasmine wore a dull face. Sonal told her not to think too much about what had happened with Rohit. She then asked Jasmine if she still applied to Jah Company for the management trainee position.
No I didn't Sonal, I was preoccupied with Rohit's issue that I actually forgot, Jasmine responded. Why don't you log into their site and apply now, Sonal advice her.
Ok I will do that now. Jasmine took her phone, logged into Jah Company recruitment site and applied. After applying she thanked Sonal that if she had waited till tomorrow, she would have missed the deadline. The application was going to close by 12 midnight, in 2 hours time.
Sonal was glad she had asked and advice Jasmine to apply now. She then decided to make Jasmine feel much better than she already is by using her self as an example.
She decided to call Yash and put him in loud speaker for Jasmine to hear. When she hears how badly Yash do communicate with her, Jasmine's mood will lighten up and her face will be bright again.
She gave Yash a call, Yash answered on the first ring, she was surprised, she went ahead to put him in loud speaker, and more surprisingly Yash was super sweet.
She quickly gave an excuse that she just wanted to hear his voice and now that she had heard him, she wished him goodnight and she hung up the phone without allowing Yash reply his sweet nonsense to her.
She had not expected Yash to be sweet to her all of a sudden, it was unlike Yash. But the honest truth about Yash was that he was trying to butter up to her so that she would use her entertainment show to promote Prahtab Company for free.
And if she did that, business will sky rocket for Prahtab Company. His father will then be happy with him again. He took money from the company to service his gambling habit and lost. His father had found out about it and suspended him as per the company policies.
He would have been fired, but because he is the son of his father, who is currently the president of Prahtab Company, he was suspended till further notice.
While his father suspended him, his father used his personal finance to reimburse the company's finances, to cover up Yash's track and save him from the hands of the board of directors. If the board of directors had gotten wind of Yash's escapades, he would have had no choice but to fire him.
When Sonal was done with the call, she looked at Jasmine with an awkward smile and said, sorry Jazz, I don't know what's up with Yash this evening, honestly he is usually not sweet. Am surprised at his actions.
Jasmine looked at Sonal with red eyes, tears were about to fall off of her eyes, she then said, thanks Sonal for trying to make me feel better. I know how Yash can be, you should actually enjoy his sweetness while it lasts.
And I look forward to that trip to the outskirts of Delhi, to the army barracks. I miss my brother and I want to see him. If he was here, he would have been able to talk to Rohit for me man to man.
I miss my dad too, he is the main reason why am following the TV crew over there for the live event, but for now let's enjoy ourselves, Sonal replied.
Sonal and Jasmine then chit chatted a little while longer, Sonal had work the next day so they had to sleep before 12 midnight.
