Cooked for me? And, what was with the term 'daughter'? I barely knew my father-in-law. His face was blurred in my memories. I had barely exchanged words with him at my engagement, apart from taking his blessings. At our marriage, things happened in a rush. We had very little time to get accustomed to each other.

I had been at fault for not reaching out to my in-laws. How the past seven months went was a true mystery. One thing or another kept me occupied, but I should have made a little effort. Though the difference between us was vast, yet the elderly man took the initiative and put me above his son.
