Despite it being summer vacation, Carson was hard at work. Trying to reverse engineer hearing aids was no simple task.
Normally, he would be binge watching anime like nobody's business when he wasn't doing all the required AP summer homework but Ivy needed him. He had seen her exhaustion get worse as time went on even though she claimed that her radius hadn't expanded after going to see the other telepath with Adrian.
He couldn't understand her pain but he could see it. She was trying really hard to concentrate and it didn't always work because of all the voices in her head. He had to figure this out for her sake.
Ivy always looked so tired and sad. That expression always made a weight settle in his chest. Carson didn't want her to have to spend the rest of her life like that. He wanted her to be happy.
Beautiful readers, please forgive this scatterbrained author! I got put on a new medication recently that's made me a bit spacey so I completely forgot to set the timers for this novel last week. Please enjoy the three chapters that should have been posted in that time. The release rate hasn't changed; I'm just an idiot haha
