Chapitre 5: Daily life and Discovery

Renji's life is most uneventful it cycled between, playing with Rosinante, spending time with Garp and Sengoku, and also learning things from Tsuru and her platoon.

One weird thing that everyone noticed about him is since he turned two, he started getting distracted and keeps pointing at random places while his eyes gleamed, followed by him being more exhausted easily. This made Sengoku and the others worried as there might be something wrong with Renji. This further continued til he turned 3 and a half years old when he learned how to talk and learned about counting and colors. He kept pointing at random places while shouting "blue". They were more confused until Tsuru deducted what was happening, they're now going to Sengoku's office to talk to him.

"I wonder if he's in" Tsuru says ponderingly while walking near the room, Renji's eyes gleamed and pointed at the office.

"Grama Tsu, grapa inside! inside!" Renji yells excitedly he bolts to the door which startles Sengoku.

"Grapa! Grapa! I'm here!" Renji runs to give his grandpa a hug.

"Wha- Renji! Hahaha! You're as lively as ever!" Sengoku smiled with warmth while hugging his grandson.

"Sengoku, I think I figured out what's wrong with the boy." says Tsuru while holding Renji's hand.

"Oh? You figured out why he gets distracted?" Sengoku asks full of interest.

"Yes, I think the boy has awakened Kenbunshoku at an early age!" Tsuru said with a excitement.

"What?! Are you sure?! Isn't it way too early for that?" Sengoku asked with a shocked tone. Before Tsuru can talk Renji suddenly interjected.

"Garp! Garp! Garp!" As he excitedly points at the wall.

"What? How does he kno-" Before Sengoku can finish the wall suddenly breaks with debris and smoke everywhere, and in came Garp.

"Heyy! How are ya doing!" Garp says while yawning.

"Damn you Garp! Can't you use the damn door!" Sengoku yelled sharply while Tsuru facepalms and Renji clapping in excitement.

" Hahahaha! Hey Renji you wanna come watch me throw big cannonballs at pirates again?" Asks Garp with a cheeky grin.

"Ya! Ya! Let's go!" Renji answers excitedly.

"Wait! wait! No, the last time you went Renji nearly fell overboard! I told you to stop corrupting my grandson Garp!" Sengoku glares sharply. Garp just laughs and winks at the boy, Renji tries to imitate his winking but fails adorably.

"Let's go back to the subject at hand, well do you believe me now? He managed to sense Garp over the wall." Tsuru says with a smile.

"Why what happened? What do you mean by he sensed me over the wall? Wait do you mean he.." Garp says while pointing at the boy with a shocked expression.

"Yup, the reason for his weird behavior since last year was because he awakened Kenbunshoku last year." Tsuru said with a smirk.

"But he's too young isn't he?" Garp said still shocked at the revelation.

"Yeah! But he is my grandson after all! What do you expect?! He has my genes! Hahahaha!" Sengoku says while laughing proudly, which Renji follows as he laughs without knowing what's happening. Sengoku sees this and he ruffles his Grandson's hair.

"The only thing we don't know is to what extent can he use his haki, how far can he see." Tsuru says while pointing at Renji.

"Well let's go find out!" Garp says while staring at the boy.

"Alright let's test it out." Sengoku nods and looks at Renji as well.

Seeing the three of them staring at him, startled Renji and he felt awkward.

"Okay, Renji we want you to count how many blue people can you see below." Tsuru says while pointing down.

"Oh many! one, two, three... nine, ten. grama there's more than ten!" Renji tells them while grinning.

"We forgot he can only count to ten" Sengoku smiles wryly.

"How many tens can you see Renji? Garp asked while grinning, so Renji started counting again.

" Eight! Eight! Eight! I see eight tens!" Renji yells excitedly.

"Oh he counted 80 people that's already 4 floors below. If he was able to see another two floors down he wouldn't be able to count them all because it's near the elite training camps." Garp says while smirking.

" That's still quite remarkable for a kid his age. I'm sure with more training his haki will be monstrous." Tsuru says with a smile.

"Yeah, unlike the other types we can help him control this now. As it's not that taxing on the body." Sengoku says while grinning proudly.

"Let's take turns on teaching the boy, we'll go raise a little monster." Tsuru said while grinning.

"Alright! We'll be training the kid! When he turns five, let's also train him physically." Garp says with a grin.

"Five? Isn't that a little too young?" Sengoku asks worriedly. Garp looks at Renji and asks.

"Renji, do you want to grow as strong as me?" Garp asks with a grin.

"Yeah! Yeah! I want to be an admiral just like grapa!" yells Renji excitedly.

"But it's going to be hard and painful." Tsuru says while smiling kindly.

"It's fine! It's fine! I wanna be strong! I'm gonna protect all of you! " Renji says determined.

"Oh? Is that right? Then you better train hard boy! Hahahaha!" Garp said while laughing cheekily.

"Yeah!" Renji says while pumping his fist.

Sengoku and Tsuru looks at each other and at Renji, as they both smile heartwarmingly.
