Chapitre 206: The Last Battle

Lianne needed Kai beside her when she went to see the Matriarch. 

Perhaps, to some, that was a sign of weakness. Her inability to confront the people by herself. 

For Lianne, she didn't care what people would think because she acknowledged that it was a weakness of hers. There was nothing she could really do about it, and forcing herself to do so to 'be independent' would only cause her to spiral into depression.

Luckily, Kai was more than willing to stand by her side - even if it meant that they would be going head-to-head with the person that had practically groomed him to be where he was right now.

Worse, they didn't come just to 'confront' the Matriach, but the Patriarch was here, too. Under the excuse of visiting the elder generation, they came.

This would be the first time Lianne was meeting the Patriarch, which made her all the more nervous. 

Kai gripped her hand, sensing her nervousness, and looked at her tenderly.
