Song Sheng couldn't deny the accusation, but he wasn't sure what to say either. He froze.

"I don't disapprove," Song Rui began. "Don't think that I hadn't noticed when you two were younger that you stuck to each other like tree sap." Song Sheng's eyes widened, his lips parted.

"You don't disapprove?" he questioned, unbelieving.

Song Rui shook his head. "No, if her parents were still alive. We would have probably set you two together," he admitted. Song Sheng couldn't believe what his father was saying.

"I'm sorry you two can't be together so openly. I didn't expect you two to fall in love when she joined the family," Song Rui continued.

Song Sheng was puzzled. "You can't help us?" he asked. Song Rui shook his head. "I don't want to make the same mistake again if anything happens to her. You're on your own," he finished.
