Chapitre 85: Trying To Keep My Cool...! (Failed)

Now that I think about it, what am I supposed to do now my 'Killing Instincts' have returned to me?

Maybe I should flip my 'kill switch' on that sleazy Branch Manager for screwing up my licence. It DOES seem like the logical thing to do now that I've got a 'colour' that would draw too much attention to me. Is being a Universal Specialist that great?

But just as I was wondering what to do in these circumstances, alarm bells rung in my head as I somehow 'sensed' the impending future that was going to come upon me. Perhaps the information of the original timeline residing in the back of my mind was warning me of what was to come, as if to tell me that my future couldn't be changed easily.

"Hey, what's with that look?" Bob asked as I realised I lost control of my expression for a moment. This time, I didn't want him to get involved in my 'sibling dispute', so I courteously bowed to him before hiding my new License.

"I just remembered something I'd forgotten to settle. I'll look for you later." I told him respectfully.

"Oh..." The sudden 'cold treatment' made him feel as if he did something wrong, but didn't know if it was right to pry into my personal matters considering that we hadn't known each other for long. I didn't clarify as it was better this way...

"Take care." He waved me off as I left the Guild Branch and aimlessly walked somewhere isolated.

I didn't look back to see his expression, as I didn't want my emotions to cloud my better judgement right now. Romanticism is only desirable when it's useful. At other times when things aren't meant to be, it's best to live life as realistic as possible.

Perhaps a part of me that liked Bob wanted him to come with me so he could act as my knight in shining armour. That part of my heart was killed by my lucidity that knew his presence was useless.

He couldn't persuade Chaos, and he certainly wasn't strong enough to fight him as well.

That girlish part of me wanted to live without having to be responded for everything could go die in a fire for all I care. His safety is priority, so it's best to focus on what my instincts warned me of.

Who was capable of making me feel as if I was being watched? It was probably that guy.

"Enigma, I know you're there." I spoke out to the air with certainty as sharpness appear in my eyes.

A few seconds went by, and yet I didn't stop glaring at the sky from where he was watching.

"...So 'something' DID happen." Enigma's body appeared from behind the large tree beside me.

This was the first time this so-called 'son' of mine came out on my behalf. Like before, he looked the same way as I left him all those years ago when I wanted to reincarnate. His featureless face that was half blank and half white gazed at me and said:

"Are you doing well?"

"You'd know, wouldn't you? Isn't it your fault I ended up reincarnated into a girl this time?"

"That was your own decision, not mine. I have no control over what you turned into after you chose not to 'reunite' with your other half. What drives you to want to exist in this imperfect state?"

"I am not 'imperfect'." I denied while walking to him.

"That is only your opinion. Whether it's me or even Chaos himself, I'm sure he'd disagree with you."

"He an adolescent child. Of course he isn't as 'perfect' as he wants to be. That's why, instead of relying on dumb magic stuff, he should grow up and mature." I spoke while grabbing his collar.

"Hmph, the word 'maturity' is convenient. You are just being selfish." He pried my hand off of him.

What a disobedient 'son ', can't he just listen to his elders? Oh yeah, I forgot this guy is older than me.

Still, what makes him think his age constitutes as wisdom? What makes him think he knows better?

How am I being 'selfish'...?!!!

"I'm doing this for our own good."

"There's no good in fragmenting your 'Self'."

"Such power isn't meant for a Human."

"But you aren't a human, you are a God."

"And why the hell is that?!" My face contorted in rage as I pointed accusingly at this swindler.

"I asked you to reincarnate me as a Human!"

These words finally seemed to knock some sense into him as he finally stopped talking. He wanted to retort, but what could he say? I know, that though he wore the air of civility, he was just like those wretched politicians of my first life, a sweet-talker who spoke as if he had my good health in mind as he pushed forward his own personal agendas...!

"T-technically, an Omni Being IS a Human..." Is that a stutter I heard in your voice, did you realise it?!

"An Omni Being isn't 'Mortal'." This was something I was late to realise until I gained another form.

Compared to normal Humans, I didn't age and could retain the same appearance indefinitely. The limit on my lifespan had been taken off from the beginning, and I didn't notice it before only due to the lack of relevance it had in my second life.

"...Fine. I'll give you that."

"Give what?"

"...I didn't think things through."

"That's right! Everything is your fault!"

"I disagree!" This time is was Enigma's turn to point at me with an air of accusation as his vein popped.

"Who was the one who walked out without hearing my explanation?! I wanted to explain your abilities right from the very beginning, but you HAD TO try looking cool and walked out without hearing me out!" The sincerity of his outburst made me pause.

I thought back to the time we first met:

{You, as the former wielder of both Divine Swords of legend, are the only person who even qualifies to receive the Eclipse Attribute I formed... Don't you want to test it out?} Were Enigma's words back then. Wait, how did I reply to him back then?

{No worries, it will be fine! I'll find out about it after reincarnating. I can't wait any longer!}

"..." I blushed in shame and looked away from him.

"...I was excited about reincarnation, alright? How did you expect me to react? You could have just told me to wait up and informed me that my ashes somehow created its own 'soul', you know?"

"Harmony." Enigma stopped me with his hand.

"I don't know how you remember it, but all I remember was seeing you so emotional as soon as I mentioned 'reincarnation' that you it didn't feel right saying anything." He put his hand on his forehead, acting as if I was giving him a headache.

Now that I think about it, he must have been really mature compared to me back then to not ruin our moment by suddenly saying: 'Oh yeah, because of magic and stuff, you now have another brother.'

I wonder how I'd have reacted if I learnt of his existence early on. Would I still be acting like this?

How would I have dealt with that knowledge?

Know I know why people choose to not tell me things sometimes. Having the knowledge doesn't help if it's outside the realm of control, but it's not like I can ignore Chaos now he's obsessed with me.

"Anyway, you didn't come out just to talk about these things. You're not that kind of person." To avoid unnecessary embarrassment, I'm just going to let all that slide until I can think of a better argument. Then I'll blame it on him again.

"...You're right. I can finally form your Godly Weapon now. Watch out for Chaos as I made that glove more powerful." I already knew that, but I'm happy he actually informed me about it this time.

I wonder why though...? It doesn't benefit him.

"So what will you turn into-"

"Please wait until I get my Warlock Armoury back from him. Then you can make that my weapon."

"I can't wait that long."

"Why not?"

"I have my reaso-" Just as he was about to explain himself, his head suddenly looked in the distance.

"Looks like he's bending space."

"...You mean he's teleporting here." My instincts were going haywire as I looked at that place he was staring at. The Sun Halo and Moon Horn within my body circulated their energy around my body.

I pulled out my Heavenly Sword from my Halo of the Sun God and Abyssal Knife from the Halo of the Mood God, initiated my Combat Body, and my Body Tattoos formed into the War Constitution.

I was ready to go all out this time...

"I'll be leaving you two to sort this out then. As long as you can get that necklace, I'll form it into your Godly Weapon. Just remember, you don't have two separate Mana Attributes, but my own 'Eclipse Attribute'." He spoke before vanishing into thin air.

I didn't have time to understand what his words meant as I circulated my Sun Mana and Moon Mana through my weapons. Then, I was hit by the realisation of what he meant, and disengaged my Skill Roots, only my Auxiliary Skills still in effect.

As soon as I saw Chaos displacing in front of me in that place my eyes were glaring, I shot forwards with a terrifying intent. The 'kill switch' I'd stopped myself from using 'flipped' at this moment.

I could see a chill run down the spine of 'Simon' who appeared before me as my eyes were covered in a frosty emotion that was beyond cruelty. The menace in my eyes couldn't even compare to the time I had been fighting that assassin back then.

Even though my body looked the same, albeit with two forms of Auxiliary Skills covering it, there was a drastic change in the way I carried myself as my heart was no longer in the mood to talk things out.

Even though Bob was alive, I hadn't forgotten my hatred for Chaos one bit. The intensity of the flames in my heart caused my killing intent to take on aspects of the hottest inferno and coldest icicle.

Both these feelings merged together as I threw out a punch that had been imbued by a significantly large amount of my feelings. The Halo of the Sun God and Horn of the Moon God flowed into it.

Time slowed down in my amethyst glowing eyes as I focused on the dark blue horn that was growing between my knuckles and the golden halo that was like a large bangle around my wrist. The Sun Mana and Moon Mana flowed in two distinct paths.

They balanced and supported each other as always while not exactly fighting each other, until I used my willpower to force them to overlap. Thus trying to fuse my Skill Roots into one entity...!

I expected there to be resistance, but the pure ease of which my two Skill Roots synthesised was as if they had been waiting for me to do so for a long time. The Sun Halo and Moon Horn started to vanish as a new Skill Root formed in its stead.

As if to mimic my intentions, the power within my body focused into a glove with two features.

Near the knuckle of the silvery glove was the design on an upside down 'horn' that stretched past my wrist, while at the centre of the back of my hand appeared a circular halo above that pattern

[Glove of the Destruction God!]

A terrifying force unlike anything I've ever seen in my life appeared around my fist, causing the just appearing Chaos to panic as soon as he appeared before me with his magic eyes already glowing.

[Kinetic Eye- Movement Nullification!]

I could sense the kinetic energy of my body being drained to the point of logically being unable to continue moving my attack forward, but it was as if the world denied such an outcome as it continued to move straight towards that little face of his.

[Kinetic Eye- Forced Repulsion!]

[Vector Eye- Attack Redirection!]

An enormous amount of power arose from his magical eyes as he tried to make my attack be pushed back by him instead. It was as if a barrier of energy hit my body and tried to push me back.

But that 'barrier' too was destroyed by the energy revolving around my fist. The partial transformation of my enemy's body already occurred in that short timeframe, but I continued to drag my fist forward.

Finally, my fist made an impact! Chaos screamed as the power smashed into his face and sent him flying off into the distance. His body shot into a mass of trees in the direction of the Dark Forest and smashed through many of them pathetically.

One, two, five, ten, twenty, my enhanced eyes could practically see him flying powerlessly until a mountain appeared behind him. Then as soon as he hit that mountain, the entire body of it shook before he finally came to stop. From what I could see, he was embedded into a massive rock on that mountain that just so happened to be in the way...

Ahh~ Getting all that out was so refreshing~
