Another quiet week passes by. Ever since the first attempt at the lottery, Evelyn had been using the half of her daily 20DP to take a spin of the lottery. Most of the times they were white and on some occasions, a blue or a red would show up. In total, she spun the lottery for about 11 times that whole week. Sometimes those white would refund her DP back but other times they would just give out some tier 1 potions. 8 of those results were white, 2 were blue and 1 was red. The red gave another 100DP, 1 blue gave 30DP and the other a tier-2 potion. 4 whites gave back the 10DP she used to spin the lottery and the rest became tier-1 potions. In all, she gained 160DP, 4 tier-1 potions, and a tier-2 potion including the daily DP she gained over the week. In all, she had earned an extra 20DP on top of the 5 potions she obtained from the lottery. It seems that a different type of potion is given out on different days. The first time she tried, she had gotten restorative potions. The day after that, she had obtained enhancement type potions. A day after that, a potion that heals various afflictions were given out. It seems that on each day, a different category of potion effects became available for her as a prize from the lottery. With it entering a new week, the weekly prizes were refreshed.
"Hm?"
An alert along with a notice of an influx of 30DP made its way into her system coffers. Looking at the live video feed from the entrance of the dungeon, a team of five were bumbling their way inside. From their ragtag group and their rough and tattered looking apparel, they had the appearance of the typical bandits or thieves. Wheezing and coughing violently, they constantly turned their heads back as they made their way further inside. Frosted breaths puff out from all their mouths. It seems as if they were running away from someone or something. Not long after, Evelyn receives more DP. A group of men wearing full plated armor. Knights were the best terms to describe the appearance of the group of armored men. There were about nine of them. Following soon after a female knight wearing the grandeur of noble armor enters into the dungeon. A beauty of western face proportions, along with what appears to be long flowing red hair. Its wispy nature, when blown by the wind, is reminiscent of a flame itself. Her chest plate seems to bulge out, indicating the abundance behind it. A short red cape reaching down to her waist flutters valiantly behind her. Her mouth moves and she then gestures towards several men. Saluting in return, they stay in place while the rest moves forwards. The path they take follows the prints in the snow the bandit-like people had left behind.
...
"Boss," One of the underlings wheezing. "What d'ya ya think we should now?"
"Shut up," The boss replies back. "Fuck, I don't know. How'd da hell should I know?!"
"Boss, we're gonna die at this rate, either to those bastards out there or we freeze in here."
"Just, shut up! I'm tryin' ta think right now!"
The snow beneath them crunches loudly. They have no idea where they are, nor they did know that inside what they thought was a cave turned out to be a place like this. An icy and frozen landscape, almost barren with nothing but snow. The cold slowly biting through their ragged clothes and their worn-out leather boots. Within the boss' mind, a string of obscenities erupts. After their botched attempt of a robbery, presently they are now being tracked down. Not only that but their failed attempt of robbing someone was someone they had not expected; the second princess of the Rosenstein Empire. She and her trusted guard had traveled incognito. Thinking they were an easy target, he decided to rob them. However, her guard single-handedly almost wiped the whole gang out. After realizing that they could not win, they retreated suffering from a devastating loss. Now, a few days after that incident, these knights have come for their heads.
"Fuck this shit. All of it!"
.....
"Captain! The footprints continue leading this way!"
"Continue onwards!" The woman with blazing red hair shouts. "Do not let any of them get away!"
The knights march forward, not even minding the plated armor freezing and sticking onto any contact with their bare skin. The woman leading the knights, a visible frown could be witnessed. In her mind, she did not know what idiots would try to rob royalty. They had simply just doomed themselves. Feeling the cold, she resolves herself to try and catch them as fast as possible and leave this place.
"Faster! The faster we catch them, the faster we can leave and return to the capital!"
Following the captain's words, they all hustle faster. As they quickly move forward, they all leave another set of footprints into the snow.
.....
Evelyn, watching both groups, looks at it all with a casual glance. In reality, she does not really need to step in. The bandits were trying to escape and the knights were basically trying to catch them. It did not seem like the knights were here for the dungeon or her. Evelyn takes a look at Alice. The blank look on her face continues to stare at Evelyn.
"If anything happens, I have Alice here to help me."
Evelyn mutters. She decides to leave them alone. With the number of people on the knight's side, she could not be too bold in her decisions. Since they are knights, they must have gone through a strict set of training. That meant they were not pushovers, especially so if they have trained to work together as a group. Sitting in her carved wooden chair, she silently watches the events unfolding within her dungeon. Alice being Alice, she stands committedly next to her and quietly watches over her master.
